Abstract

Pendidikan dalam era globalisasi menekankan pentingnya siswa memiliki tidak hanya kecakapan akademis, tetapi juga kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kewirausahaan. Kurikulum di Indonesia telah memperhitungkan kebutuhan ini dengan memasukkan mata pelajaran Produk Kreatif dan Kewirausahaan. Namun, tantangan yang masih dihadapi adalah tingkat keterlibatan siswa yang rendah dalam proses pembelajaran, yang dapat menghambat ekspresi kreatif dan pencapaian belajar mereka. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, Project-based Learning muncul sebagai pendekatan yang inovatif untuk meningkatkan partisipasi dan pencapaian belajar siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebagai tindakan perbaikan untuk menerapkan PjBL dalam mata pelajaran Produk Kreatif dan Kewirausahaan untuk siswa kelas XI di sebuah sekolah kejuruan di Padang Sidempuan. Metode penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan dengan dua siklus untuk meningkatkan tingkat keaktifan siswa serta hasil belajar mereka. Hasil dari kedua siklus menunjukkan peningkatan dalam domain pembelajaran kognitif dan psikomotorik. Siklus 1 menunjukkan kemajuan yang signifikan dalam keterlibatan siswa dan hasil belajar dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 38,46%, meskipun masih di bawah ambang batas yang diinginkan. Siklus 2 menggabungkan perbaikan berdasarkan refleksi Siklus 1, mencapai hasil pembelajaran kognitif dan psikomotorik yang memuaskan diperoleh ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 73,26%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa PjBL berdampak positif terhadap keterlibatan siswa dan hasil belajar, sehingga menyarankan penggunaannya secara terus menerus untuk meningkatkan praktik pendidikan di sekolah kejuruan.

Abstract

Proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran mata pelajaran PDTM di SMKN 2 Sawahlunto masih dilaksanakan menggunakan metode konvensional serta penggunaan media pembelajaran belum dimanfaatkan, membuat proses belajar jadi membosankan, sehingga tekad belajar siswa menurun dan siswa bersikap pasif. Tujuan dalam riset ini yaitu guna melihat kepatutan dan efektifitas media pembelajaran berbentuk power point yang dikembangkan. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D dengan Subjek pada penelitian pengembangan ini adalah peserta siswa kelas X TPM 2 SMK Negeri 2 Sawahlunto. Sedangkan objek dalam riset ini ialah produk berupa media pembelajaran berbasis power point pada mata pelajaran Pekerjaan Dasar Teknik Mesin (PDTM). Hasil penelitian dalam pengembangan ini ialah media pembelajaran berbasis power point. Hasil uji validitas ahli materi dan media di peroleh nilai sebesar 0,894 dan 0,9 yang dapat dikatakan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dibuat valid. Dan hasil anlisis angket penilaian siswa diperoleh nilai sebesar 83% yang menyatakan media pebelajaran yang dikembangkan dalam kategori sangat baik. Serta hasil efektivitas pembelajara didapat adanya kenaiakan nilai siswa antara pretest dan posttest dengan perbandingan nilai 60,44 dan 81,32 yang dapat dikatakan media pembelajaran yang dibuat efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Sehingga dapat dirangkum bahwa pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis power point efektif dan cocok dipakai dalam membantu proses belajar di sekolah.

Abstract

Kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam memanajemen peralatan pada saat praktik, keteledoran siswa dalam menjaga peralatan bengkel serta tidak menjaga kerapian bengkel sehingga dianggap softskill siswa rendah. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk melihat serta mendeskripsikan pengaruh budaya kerja 5R terhadap Soft Skills siswa SMK N 2 Tembilahan. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan expost-facto dengan sample penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa kelas XI jurusan teknik mesin SMK N 2. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket dengan skala liker. Teknik analisis data menggunakan software SPSS dengan analisis regresi yang mencari pengaruh antar variabelnya. Hasil dalam penelitian ini nilai signifikansi diperoleh sebesar 0,018 (sig. < 0,05), menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima. Hasil uji signifikansi menggunakan uji t thitung sebesar 6,217 sedangkan ttabel sebesar 2,861 artinya, variabel budaya kerja 5R memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap soft skills siswa SMK teknik pemesinan. Pengaruh ini dapat dilihat dari nilai koefisien determinan R2 sebesar 0,301 atau 30,1%, menunjukkan bahwa variabel budaya kerja 5R memberikan kontribusi sebesar 30,1% terhadap soft skills siswa SMK teknik pemesinan, sementara sisanya mungkin dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain. Demikian berdasarkan uji regresi yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan hipotesis diterima sehingga dideskripsikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan budaya kerja 5S terhadap softskill siswa SMK N 2 Tembilahan.

Abstract

The role of education is crucial in individual self-development to overcome faced challenges. The learning process is a fundamental means to enhance this educational role. However, to support an effective learning process, appropriate media is needed to ensure that information received by students is more easily understood. At SMKS Dhuafa Padang, for the lathe machining technique subject, learning media is still limited to whiteboards, textbooks, and PowerPoint presentations, which create student dependency on teachers. The lack of visualization in learning results in students having difficulty understanding the material. Therefore, E-modules become a solution to improve the quality of lathe machining technique learning. E-modules allow students to learn independently with neatly and systematically arranged material, stronger visualization, and interactivity. In conducting this research, the researcher used a Research and Development (R&D) approach and employed the Instructional Development Institute (IDI) development procedure, which has three steps: Define (needs analysis), Develop (e-module media design), and Evaluate (Validity Evaluation). The research instrument used questionnaires filled out by validators (teachers and lecturers), and the research results showed a score of 0.925 for material validity and 0.903 for media validity, indicating that this e-module media is feasible and valid for application as learning media. It is hoped that with the existence of this E-module, it can be utilized as additional learning media in the Lathe Machining Technique learning process.

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution presents difficulties that all countries must face head-on by using technology extensively in all aspects of daily life. Education is meant to provide students withithe knowledge they need toisucceed in various aspects of life. Answering the problems faced now, especially in the industrial field, SMK Negeri 5 padang plays a good role in shaping the characteriof students, in accordance with the vision of SMK Negeri 5 padang is to become an educational produce reliable human resources in the industrial era. Based on observations in machining practice research, it was found that space facilities, machining tools, and practice hours still need more attention to improve student skills. One example is the low level of student independence and discipline. This study aimsito examine the relationship between independence and discipline of grade XI students with machining practice at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Based on the study, it was found significant relationship between independence and discipline in machining practice, as seen from the test results conducted during the study. A total of 33 xi gradeistudents of the Department ofpMechanical Engineering participated in the study in the January-June 2023/2024 academic year. The results showed a significant relationship between independence and discipline of class XI students at SMK N 5 . This is shownifrom the results of the correlation test with the value of r count> r table (0.567> 0.334) therefore the hypothesis in the study can be accepted.

Abstract

Energi listrik sangat penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, mendukung berbagai aktivitas yang bergantung pada listrik sebagai sumber utama. Indonesia memiliki tingkat konsumsi energi listrik yang tinggi, namun banyak wilayah masih belum terjangkau oleh jaringan listrik, menyebabkan berbagai masalah. Untuk mengatasi ini, perlu dikembangkan energi terbarukan yang dapat menggantikan bahan bakar fosil, seperti tenaga air. Pembangkit listrik tenaga air, khususnya mikrohidro, sangat ekonomis meskipun hanya mampu memenuhi kebutuhan beberapa rumah. Di Nagari Koto Hilalang, aliran sungai digunakan untuk pembangkit listrik mikrohidro. Pengujian menunjukkan bahwa daya dan efisiensi turbin bervariasi berdasarkan bukaan guide vane. Semakin kecil bukaan guide vane, semakin besar daya listrik yang dihasilkan. Daya optimum tercapai pada bukaan 25°, yaitu 760,36 Watt dengan efisiensi 77,50%. Sebaliknya, daya minimum dihasilkan pada bukaan 75°, yaitu 33,04 Watt dengan efisiensi 3,37%. Dari hasil perhitungan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa variasi bukaan guide vane mempengaruhi daya dan efisiensi turbin. Semakin kecil bukaan guide vane, semakin besar daya dan efisiensi yang dihasilkan. Nilai efisiensi optimum diperoleh pada bukaan 25°, yaitu 77,50%.

Abstract

The Vocational Pedagogy course is an important factor in supporting students' teaching readiness. Observation shows that PLK students have a gap in teaching readiness even though they have taken Vocational Pedagogy courses. This study describes the teaching readiness of students in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Padang State University and analyzes the effect of the course on teaching readiness. The study employed a causal quantitative approach, surveying 92 students from the 2020 and 2021 cohorts, selected via Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Data were collected via a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive analysis and simple linear regression. The results showed that students' mastery of the Vocational Pedagogy course was high, with an average score of 4.5. Students' teaching readiness was also in the "ready" category, with an average score of 4.5. Hypothesis testing results show that vocational pedagogy courses positively and significantly impact student teaching readiness. The coefficient of determination (R-square) is 0.545, meaning 54.5% of teaching readiness variables are influenced by vocational pedagogy courses, while other factors influence the rest. This study concludes that Vocational Pedagogy courses significantly and positively impact teaching readiness among students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at FT-UNP. Micro teaching is a crucial factor in improving teaching readiness in this course.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of MIG Welding parameter variations on the quality of Welded joints in apron feeder components at the BINS Workshop Unit of PT. XYZ. The issue raised is that variations in Welding practices in workshops can cause visual defects and reduce the reliability of heavy-duty components. The objectives of this study are to identify the variations in MIG parameters applied in the field, analyze the quality of Welds based on visual inspection, and determine the most suitable parameters to be adopted for Welding components as a whole. The Method used was a field experiment with a qualitative descriptive approach: Welding was performed on SS400 plate joints (10 mm–6 mm and 4 mm–6 mm) using ER70S-6 wire and CO2 shielding gas with two sets of parameters (wire feed speed 7 m/s vs. 5 m/s), and the results were analyzed through standard visual inspection. The results showed different characteristics: parameters with a higher wire feed produced deeper penetration and wider beads (more suitable for thick plates), while parameters with a lower wire feed provided process stability and a fairly good visual appearance, which was chosen for overall Welding (voltage = 20–22 V; wire feed = 5 m/min). Although the process was generally effective, visual defects such as spatter, porosity/pin hole, cold lap, stop-start, and surface concavity were detected. The study recommends parameter control, machine maintenance, and operator competency improvement to minimize defects and increase joint reliability.

Abstract

This training activity was conducted for a group of farmers in Saureinu Village, Mentawai Islands Regency. Based on the team's observation data, we found that many farmers in Saureinu Village still do not understand how to maintain agricultural machinery. As a result, many agricultural machines in Saureinu Village are damaged and cannot be used, thereby reducing farmer productivity. Through this activity, training on agricultural machinery maintenance was provided to the Saureinu village farmer group using the Practical Demonstration method. The Practical Demonstration method was considered appropriate for participants who had diverse backgrounds and no prior understanding of machinery. Based on the team's assessment at the beginning and end of the activity, there was an increase in the participants' knowledge and competence related to the material provided. In the theory session, participants' knowledge increased by 52%, and in the practice session, participants' competence increased by 40%. Participants' mastery of each sub-topic increased by 35-40%. Based on the conversion of scores to assessment categories, this activity was able to improve participants' competencies from poor to good. This improvement is expected to enable the Saureinu Village farmer group to maintain the agricultural machinery they use and maintain stable agricultural productivity.

Abstract

The development of digital technology for education is continuously conducted to successfully integrate digital technology with people's lives. This study aimed to develop an Augmented Reality learning media application for the Engineering Mechanics course, which is considered challenging by some students. Engineering mechanics, a discipline that analyzes structural analysis in compensating for the loads that work on a particular machine in scalar quantities, motion forces, vectors, and moments that require physical structural forms to analyze them, is considered challenging by some students. The Augmented Reality application was created using the prototyping method, which consists of three steps: 1) listening to the customer, 2) building/ revising mock-up, and 3) customer test-drivers mock-up. The AR-based learning media application includes usage instructions, developer info, learning videos, 3D AR object animation simulations, and exercise and discussion menus, which were tested as expected. The results of the black box testing indicate that the Augmented Reality-based engineering mechanics learning media application ran successfully as expected. However, users suggested improving the navigation speed by streamlining page transitions. The application provides an accessible solution for students as an alternative to traditional distance education, offering anytime, anywhere access to learning materials with longer duration.
