Abstract

This study aims to analyze the project-based learning model on learning outcomes in class XI lathe subjects majoring in Mechanical Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya. The type of research that the authors conducted was Quasi Experimental Design (pseudo / quasi experiment) research. The experimental research design used in this study was in the form of nonequivalent control group desaign. This study uses pre-test and post-test tests to students to see students' understanding before and after using the learning model, whether there is a good enough improvement after applying the learning model. Based on the results of research and discussion, Quasi-Experiment research in the subject of Lathe Machining Engineering class XI Machining Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya can be concluded as follows. First, the project-based learning model in the experimental class in the Lathe Machining Engineering subject was successfully implemented in class XI of the Machining Engineering of SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya. Second, student learning outcomes The acquisition of this final score increased from the previous average score of 53. Third, the skills and creativity of students in the subject of Lathe Machining Engineering Class XI Machining Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya, carried out using a psychomotor assessment rubric and obtained an average score in the control class of 74 and the experimental class of 80.

Abstract

The island country is a characteristic of Indonesia, and is located right on the equator stretching from the island of Sumatra to the island of West Papua. The need for electrical energy is increasing, but the energy generally used to produce electrical energy is fossil energy, and the problem faced by most countries, including Indonesia, is the problem of energy reduction. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the electricity needed is 14 terawatts per day, arguably the equivalent of 210 million barrels of oil. The objectives of this research are (1) to design a wind turbine using fiberglass as the basic material, (2) to make a turbine that can utilize wind energy for electricity generation purposes, and (3) to determine the performance of a modified 4-blade vertical wind turbine on the power it produces. can be generated. The type of research carried out uses experimental methods. The test results show that wind turbines made from fiberglass are able to achieve wind turbine efficiency of 50.7%. The conclusion drawn is that the researchers succeeded in designing a wind turbine from fiberglass as the basic material, the wind turbine can rotate properly and can produce electricity. The generator power produced increases as the wind speed increases. A wind turbine using 4 blades at a wind speed of 21.6 m/s, produces a rotation per minute of 250.6 rpm, produces 108.20 watts and a torque of 107.14 Nm.

Abstract

Solar panels are renewable energy which is very useful for agricultural needs to meet electricity needs, one of which is its application in agriculture, namely as a pump driver for hydroponic plants. Hydroponics is farming with an emphasis on meeting the nutritional needs of plants using water as a medium with a nutrient solution as fertilizer. In the hydroponic system the pump must be on continuously, for this reason the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) tool is used to substitute the electrical energy of the State Electricity Company (PLN) with the electrical energy of solar panels in the event of a power outage from the State Electricity Company (PLN) which aims to drain nutrient water. This research aims to apply solar panels to a hydroponic plant system and apply the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) tool as a substitute for the State Electric Company's (PLN) electrical energy and solar panels. This research was carried out on Jalan Polonia no.11 fresh water east, North Padang District, Padang City, West Sumatra in January – March 2024, with the initial stages (1) preparation, (2) solar panel assembly, (3) analysis of test results , (4) preparation of reports. The results of this research can determine the power output required by solar panels as a renewable energy source as well as the application of the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) in hydroponic plant cultivation.
