Abstract

This study aims to identify institutions and to know the perception of oil palm farmer’s for institutional support Integration System of Oil Palm Cattle Programs (SISKA) in Indragiri Hulu. Methods of data collection using survey methods. The population in this study were farmer’s who applied this SISKA Program and farmer’s are no longer valid SISKA this program. Samples of this technique is 57 people, including respondents who applied and did not apply this SISKA program. Data analysis used descriptive methods. Variables characteristic role of extension were analyzed using Likert Scale. Results shows that the role of Institutional Extension Support (SISKA) by indicator of education with quite a role category, dissemination or innovation information in quite a role category, facilitation in of quite arole category, consultancy in quite a role category, supervision or coaching quite a role category, monitoring and evaluation in quite a role category. The farmer’s perceptions of the SISKA program on the role of education institutions in Indragiri Hulu obtained with quite a role category.

Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze the marketing of coconut sugar based on the structure,conduct and performance of the market. This research is carried out in Indragiri HilirRegency by using survey method over the number of 32 samples. The samples are takenbay snowball sampling start with the sugar makers. The results of this research show thatmarket structure is likely to be monopsony, where trader middle man traders are moredominant while sugar makers are price taker. There are three marketing channels in thisresearch area. From market performance criteria it shows that the first channel is moreprofitable since the costs are much lower and more efficient compare to channel 2 and 3.Keywords: structure, coconut sugar, performance, margin.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analysis the factors affecting production, allocation of work time, income and household expenditure coconut sugar agro-industry entrepreneurs. (2) analysis the impact of changes in economic policy related to the development of coconut sugar agro-industry to the economic decision-making household. Econometric approach with simultaneous equation models were analyzed by Two Stages Least Square method. The results showed that: (1) coconut sugar production is affected by the allocation of working time on coconut sugar agro-industry businesses. (2) The allocation of working time on the business affected by the age of the entrepreneur and the availability of capital. (3) The allocation of family labor time and the availability of capital is the main factor that determines the changes in household income entrepreneurs. (4) Household expenditure consists of consumption of food, non-food consumption, education, investment, leisure and savings. Consumption of food, non-food consumption, investment, leisure and savings are affected by household income coconut sugar agro-industry businessmen, while education is affected by a number of school children. (5) The policy of increasing the price of coconut sugar and increased allocation of working time have positive impact on the household economy, while the increase in wage costs have negative impact on the household economy. These results indicate that to increase the income of the coconut sugar agro-industry enterprises can be done: (1) Increase the allocation of working time on coconut sugar agro-industry effort to reduce the leisure. (2) Increase the accessibility of capital through government assistance or banks with low-interest credits.

Abstract

The potential of coconut as one of economical agriculture commodities that can be processedinto products such as nata de coco and others. This survey study was conducted in Tembilahan,Indragiri Hilir District as an area which has the nata de coco agroindustry. This research wasconducted from May to August 2008. The results concluded that development strategies for natade coco indsutry are as follow: improve production planning capability, increase productioncapacity, improve the standard of product quality, enhance marketing campaigns through widerdistribution, diversify market segments and use institutions such as Aspari.

Abstract

North Sumatra is one of the rice-producing provinces in Indonesia. Although North Sumatra is rice producing center in Indonesia, North Sumatra still continues to import rice to keep the rice needs of the population and the government's rice reserves. This study aims to: (1) Analyzed the conditions of foreign trade related to North Sumatra's imports of rice commodities in 1998-2020. (2) Analyze the effect of rice production, rice consumption, import tariffs, Rupiah exchange rate against USD and inflation on rice imports in North Sumatra province. (3) Analyze which independent variables most influence rice imports in North Sumatra. The data used are secondary data sourced from BPS North Sumatra, the Worldbank Website, Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of Finance and other agencies that provide data related to this research. The data taken are data on imported rice, rice production, rice consumption, exchange rates, and inflation in North Sumatra in time series from 1998-2020. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression analysis using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method and using the SPSS 24 program. The results of this study Simultaneously show that the independent variables jointly have a significant effect on rice imports. And partially the variables of production, exchange rates, and inflation have negative and not significant effect on rice imports, the rice consumptions variable has a positive and not significant effect on rice imports, and the import tariff variable has a negative and significant effect on rice imports in North Sumatra and the most effected variable on rice import is import tariff

Abstract

Nata de coco is a product of processed agroindustry from coconut water fermented by using Acetobacter microbe. Nata de coco has a promising prospect as it is a worldwide product. This research aimed to identify marketing channel, analyze margin and marketing efficiency of Sari Coco agroindustry in Pekanbaru City. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data. Data analysis method used is margin and marketing efficiency. Sari Coco's marketing research results consist of two channels. Channel I sell directly to consumers who come to the business location to obtain Sari Coco has an efficiency value of 0% with a margin of IDR 0. While the value of marketing efficiency of channel II that is to retailers who are in Sorek Village Pelalawan District is of 0.12% with margin of IDR 7.000 and RCR value of 1.4.strategy, nata de coco, agroindustry, marketing, efficiency

Abstract

Palm sugar is a product derived from palm juice water treatment are already known by the general public. Palm sugar can be used as processed food ingredients, can be used as a medicine and can be used as business venture opportunities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of marketing efficiency and recognize quality palm sugar according to retailers and end customers in Kuantan Singingi. The study was conducted in April-December 2016. The research method used survey method and sampling craftsmen census method as many as 11 respondents. The results showed that the marketing channel there is two palm sugar Custom-retailer-consumer end; Craftsmen palm sugar-end consumers. Value marketing efficiency on the channel I was 10.79% and the efficiency of marketing channels II is 8.80%. Palm sugar marketing more efficient channel of distribution II because the process is shorter than the first channel and marketing channel II was able to spend with low. Description of quality of palm sugar by craftsmen, retailers and end customers meets the criteria that can be seen from the National Quality Standards, namely: the color "brown" aroma "typical" flavor "very sweet" and form "round concave.

Abstract

Hydroponics is one of the cultivation technologies that is able to produce products with good quality. The specialty of hydroponic vegetables has attracted consumers to consume these products so that demand arises. This study aims to (1) analyze the factors that affect the demand for hydroponic vegetables in Pekanbaru City, and (2) analyze the elasticity of hydroponic vegetable demand in Pekanbaru City. The study was conducted in 4 modern markets spread across Pekanbaru City with a total sample of 40 respondents with purposive sampling method. The analysis used in the study was multiple linear log regression analysis. The results showed that (1) factors that significantly affect the demand for hydroponic vegetables are the price of hydroponic vegetables, household income, consumer knowledge, and lifestyle with a coefficient of determination (R2) value of 86.60 percent.  (2) The demand for hydroponic vegetables is inelastic to the price of the goods themselves, the price of other goods, and income so that hydroponic vegetables include normal goods and substitutions.

Abstract

The growth of several food commodity production in Riau Province is decreasing and is not in line with the increasing need for food accompanied by increasing population growth. The imbalance between production and the level of food needs of each individual accompanied by increasing population growth each year can increase the opportunity for food vulnerability in an area. This research aims to analyze the status of food security from the aspect of food availability, the aspect of food affordability, and the aspect of food utilization in Riau Province. The method used in this research is the literature study method by collecting secondary data. The data used in this research is secondary data for the 2022 period which includes data from 10 districts and 2 cities in Riau Province. Data analysis was analyzed quantitatively descriptively. The results of this research show the condition of food security from the aspect of food availability with a ratio of normative consumption to cereal food availability of 4.98, meaning that food needs in Riau Province are four times the ability of Riau Province to produce food so that it is in a food deficit condition, where consumption needs food cannot be met from clean food production in Riau Province. Food security status from the aspect of food affordability is at moderate food security status. The food security status from the aspect of food utilization is at food security status, and the food security index for Riau Province is at food security status.

Abstract

Fish Crackers business is a business that has great potential to be developed in Indonesia, this is due to the abundant fish catch. One of the fish that is quite widely processed into crackers is mackerel. This study aims to analyze the financial feasibility and sensitivity to changes in input prices and production levels of the Bona Tenggiri Fish Crackers Agroindustry in Karimun District, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands. The research method used is the case study method. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Informants in this study were Bona Agroindustry business owners and 2 workers. Data analysis of investment criteria used is Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C). The results showed: Bona Agroindustry is feasible because it has a positive NPV value of Rp.2.163.103.068, the IRR value is greater than the Social Opportunity Cost of Capital (SOCC) which is 46%, and the Net B/C value is greater than zero which is 5,94. Based on the results of the sensitivity analysis conducted on the 15,38% increase in mackerel input prices, 30,36% increase in cooking oil input prices and a 10% decrease in production, it shows that the Bona Agroindustry business is still feasible to run or develop.
