Abstract

Female-genital infection in adolescence causes discomfort and may develop into a serious issue. Islamic boarding school female students are a population at risk of getting a female-genital infection due to the lack of hygiene practice sum up with the lack of parental control. Prevention of female-genital infection through behavioral change is mandatory but the changes in behavior are not an effortless thing. There are underlying constructs that predispose the behavior as described in the Integrated Behavior Model (IBM). Dealing with those constructs will facilitate the change of behavior. However, there was no exact tool for assessing construct that determines the female-genital infection preventive behavior, especially for Islamic boarding school female-student population. That was the major reason for the Female-genital Infection Preventive Behavior Tool (FgIPBT) development. We generated a tool based on IBM constructs and the Indonesian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (INSDV) recommendation regarding genital infection preventive behavior. A deductive method of item generation, expert judgments, and internal consistency test involved 143 female-student from 3 different Islamic boarding schools was done to generate a valid and reliable tool. Total 177 valid items composed on the first phase and two different arrangements of items has subjected the reliability on the second phase. Items that were arranged based on behavior items and assessed every IBM construct (Type 1) had higher reliability value than items that were arranged based on IBM construct for all behavior items (Type 2). Assessing different construct for each point of behavior at the same time generate more reliable data than assessing the same construct for all points of behavior.

Employing a Research and Development approach, the study first collected English vocabulary and terminological phrases from dictionaries, encyclopedias, and relevant references. The second stage involved gathering words and expressions rooted in the unique cultural characteristics and local traditions of the Lake Toba area. Students’ responses to the Toba Boat Race game indicate a highly positive reception. Beyond enhancing students’ English vocabulary, the Toba Boat Race game fosters deeper appreciation and understanding of local wisdom, making it a culturally responsive innovation ready for broader distribution among junior high school learners.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of human resource competency on the success of implementing the Regional Government Information System (SIPD) and its impact on the quality of financial reports at Uptd Pelayanan Sosial Dinas Sosial Provinsi Sumatera Utara. This research was conducted at Uptd Pelayanan Sosial Dinas Sosial Provinsi Sumatera Utara. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. The research informants consisted of structural officials, SIPD operators, planning staff, and senior employees who are directly involved in the implementation of SIPD. The findings indicate that technical competence, system knowledge, and work attitudes have a significant influence on the successful implementation of SIPD. The main obstacles identified include the lack of specific training, limited digital infrastructure, differences in perceptions among operators, and resistance from senior employees toward new technologies. The implementation of SIPD has not yet been fully optimized, as there are still discrepancies in data input, errors in planning logic, and a low level of understanding of the system workflow. Therefore, strategies to strengthen human resource competencies are required, including intensive training programs, continuous technical assistance, standardization of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the enhancement of digital culture. This study confirms that the quality of human resources is a fundamental foundation for the success of digital government initiatives at the regional level.

Abstract

The training on the independent development of varied worksheets for teachers at PAUD Prada Aulia aims to enhance teachers’ competencies in designing creative, contextual, and developmentally appropriate learning media for early childhood education. Worksheets serve as an important tool in supporting meaningful learning processes; however, many teachers still rely on ready-made teaching materials that are often not aligned with the specific needs of learners. This program employed several methods, including material presentation, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and mentoring in the development of varied worksheets. The results of the training indicate an improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in creating innovative and engaging worksheets that are aligned with early childhood learning objectives. Furthermore, teachers became more independent and confident in developing their own instructional materials. This training is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of learning in early childhood education and to encourage teachers to continuously innovate in creating effective and enjoyable learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the forms of capital possessed, maintained, and expanded by Buruh Gendong (female porters) in order to gain economic benefits. Pasar Legi is the traditional market with the largest number of Buruh Gendong in Surakarta, employing approximately 300 workers. This research employs a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, while the data analysis technique used is an interactive model. The findings indicate that Buruh Gendong possess several forms of capital that support their economic activities. First, social capital includes close ties with traders and membership in the Indonesian Transport Workers Union (SPTI). Second, economic capital consists of their main income from porter work and additional income such as peeling onions. Third, cultural capital is reflected in their ability to negotiate service prices. Fourth, symbolic capital lies in the social status they hold within the market. These capitals are closely tied to the social relations between the Buruh Gendong, traders, and customers when offering their services. Such social relations serve to maintain, expand, and exchange capital within a social arena referred to as the market. However, competition within this arena often results in conflicts among the Buruh Gendong themselves.
