Abstract

Mengani Village, Kintamani Subdistrict, Bangli Regency, is a partner village of the Faculty of Agriculture, Mahasaraswati University, Denpasar. The distance to the subdistrict capital is 17 km, and to the capital of Bangli Regency is 37 km, while the distance to the provincial capital is around 50 km. The land area of ​​Mengani village is 437 hectares, of which 25 hectares are paddy fields, and the rest are plantations and yards. The Mengani village farmers have been planting well-adapted rice on the highlands, namely the Red Pilian variety which is rice with a red grain. But there is a belief that has been believed for generations that rice cultivation does not need to be fertilized either organic fertilizer or chemical fertilizers or pesticides. As a result, production per land area is very low at around 2-3 tons per hectare. Seeing such conditions, it is necessary to make efforts to increase the productivity of “Pilian Merah” rice organically through the making of organic rice demonstration plots by applying a good cultivation system that is good soil cultivation, planting young seedlings, planting only 2 seedlings, minimal water, fertilizing with organic fertilizer local, and the use of vegetable pesticides for the control of rice pests and diseases. The method of implementing science and technology is carried out through socialization, training, assistance, demonstration of organic rice plots. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in farmers' knowledge about organic farming, from the initial 50% of farmers who did not understand to 100% understanding of organic farming, understanding of the dangers of synthetic chemical fertilizers to soil and environment from 70% of farmers who did not understand 100% understanding , understanding of the dangers of synthetic chemical pesticides to useful insects and the environment from the beginning 70% of farmers did not understand increased to100% understanding. Besides that, there was an increase in the skills of farmers in making organic fertilizers, which was originally 30% unskilled to 80% skilled, the skills of farmers in making organic pesticides originally 100% unskilled increased to 50% quite skilled. The conclusion that can be drawn from the implementation of science and technology is that the activities carried out related to the understanding and skills of farmers in supporting organic farming have succeeded in increasing farmers' understanding and skills so that sustainability in the field will run well.

Abstract

The teacher candidates must have public speaking skills in order to be able to deliver the subject matter to the students. But there are still many teacher candidates who are dare not to speak public. For that reason, it is necessary to do learning innovation which facilitates to develop speaking skill of teacher candidates. The purpose of this study was to analyze the response of teacher candidates when they implemented the PechaKucha technique at presentation. This research is a qualitative research by taking ethnography as its approach. Teacher candidates in 4 grade which amounted to 20 people is object of research. Data collection is done by observation, interview, discussion, and assessment task to obtain comprehensive data. Triangulation-based analysis data, which are fundamental in this ethnographic study. The results showed that 25% of teacher candidates stated that PechaKucha implementation was very useful in the presentation, 55% of teacher candidates stated useful and 20% stated normal, and no teacher candidates stated that there is no benefit in implementing PechaKucha presentation. So it can be concluded that the implementation of PechaKucha technique is very useful for teacher candidates to develop speaking skill.

Abstract

Currently, environmental-based approaches are being encouraged, especially for entrepreneurial activities. Ecopreneurship is one of the efforts to carry out entrepreneurial activities that are concerned with environmental aspects, and not only concerned with profit. This ecopreneurship potential can be explored using photovoice, which is a learning medium through photographic techniques that have visual messages and narratives for the effectiveness of the meaning of the photo. The purpose of this study is to explore the potential of Generation Z Ecopreneurship through a photovoice approach. This study uses a photovoice-based community-based design (FGD), which was conducted from November 2020 to January 2021 in Canggu, North Kuta, with a generation Z community of 8 high school students. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews, WhatsApp, recorder and logbook, then the data was analyzed by using descriptive. The results of this study showed that in FGD 1 the themes were dominated by ecology, economy, efficiency and effectiveness, while in FGD 2 the themes that emerged were ecology, economy, efficiency and social. This shows that there is a change in the perception of the emergence of ecological and social themes from FGD 1 to FGD 2, which means that the community's perspective has been more open after planting the concept related to Ecopreneurship. So it can be concluded that photovoice can be used to explore the potential of Generation Z Ecopreneurship.

Abstract

The oceans was considered to be a major sink for CO2. The improving of quantitative and qualitative description about the ability of sea in uptaking or emitting CO2 is a great scientific concern in meteorological and climatological science. Measurement of the ability of sea in uptake or emitting CO2 could determined by measuring the CO2 exchange coefficient on sea interface and the measuring the different partial pressure of CO2 between the air and sea. In this study, CO2 flux distribution of Indonesian waters in 2007 to 2009 was computed using monthly CO2 exchange and the different partial pressure of CO2 estimated from wind speed, salinity, SST, and sea characteristic, which were obtained from satellite data. The carbon dioxide flux thus was estimated and discussed by two different designs of transfer velocity (k), of Wanninkhof (1992), kW92 relationship and by Nightingale et al. (2000), kN, relationship. The result indicated that generally, Indonesian water was emitting the CO2 to the air. Average CO2 emitting from sea to the air for recent year in 2007 to 2009 are 3.80 (mol m-2year-1) and 2.85 (mol m-2year-1) with kW92 relationship and kN relationship calculation, respectively. The total average CO2 emission from sea to the air in 2007 to 2009 for the Indonesian waters areas are 0.15 (PgC year-1) and 0.12 (PgC year-1) based on kW92 relationship and kN relationship calculations, respectively. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar histologi jaringan otot melalui penerapan PBL berbasis Lesson Study pada mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi FKIP Unmas Denpasar. Penelitian ini merupakan suatu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus, yang dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL berbasiskan Lesson Study. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Unmas Denpasar dari bulan November sampai dengan Desember 2017 dengan subjek 21 orang mahasiswa mahasiswa semester III Tahun Akademik 2017/2018. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan LKM. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil belajar histologi meningkat dari siklus 1 ke siklus 3, dan semua kelompok belajar termasuk katagori baik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan PBL berbasis Lesson Study mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar histologi.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengasah kreativitas siswa dalam merancang photomapping dengan photografi melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Projek Based Learning. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi-Eksperimental Design dengan rancangan Post-Test Only. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan April - Mei 2019, di SMA Negeri 2 Denpasar. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X IPA 5 dan X IPA 9. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini berupa data kuantitatif dengan menggunakan rubrik kreativitas siswa dalam hasilkan photomapping. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U test. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan photografi dengan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap kreativitas siswa dalam merancang photomapping. Terbukti bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen yaitu pada kreativitas merancang photomapping (z=-3,218, p=0,001) Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan photografi dengan model PjBL dapat mengasah kreativitas siswa dalam merancang photomapping.

Abstract

Background: Biology and the environment have very close interactions in the form of biodiversity, biosphere and ecosystems. The study was systematically conducted on research results articles with the aim of identifying environmental topics in biological education, outlining the research characteristics of biological education and synthesizing research trends and gaps on environmental topics in biological education in Indonesia. Method: Cross-sectional study design is conducted through a survey of research articles published in national journals. Results: The results of a meta-analysis of the structure and content of 41 articles in the indexed journal Sinta 1-3, found environmental pollution was the most discussed topic followed by several other topics such as biodiversity, ecosystems and conservation. Conclusion: Most research uses experimental design and development research with structured instruments to obtain measurable learning outcomes. Therefore, it is necessary to diversify biological education research to focus more on meaningful learning transformation through the integration of biological education in other fields, especially bioculture diversity.

Abstract

Plasma nutfah sudah tidak asing lagi bagi guru biologi, tetapi tidak berlaku untuk semua siswa. Ada cara menarik untuk menggugah keingintahuan siswa agar pemahaman tentang plasma nutfah dapat ditanamkan, yaitu memberikan tugas dengan menggunakan pendekatan photovoice. Melalui photovoice siswa mendapat kesempatan untuk mengemukakan pendapatnya melalui sasaran lensa kamera digital. Para guru selain berlatih untuk mendengarkan atau menerima pendapat dari siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, juga dituntut untuk lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam menyiapkan tugas terkait pelestarian plasma nutfah di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan menawarkan metode pelestarian plasma nutfah sejak dini kepada siswa melalui pemberian tugas untuk menumbuhkan bermacam biji-bijian atau tanaman sayuran yang berasal dari sisa bahan di dapur dan mengabadikan melalui sasaran lensa kamera digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka untuk mengumpulkan datanya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunanaan pendekatan photovoice dapat menumbuhkan minat siswa dalam pelestarian plasma nutfah yang beragam dan mencegah terjadinya erosi plasma nutfah.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis persepsi penulisan artikel ilmiah pada guru IPA guru olimpiade yang siswa bersaing di BBO di Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar pada tahun 2017. Penelitian ini adalah pra eksperimental dengan desain posttest only, yang dilakukan pada bulan September 2017. Sampel 13 guru. Data dianalisis menggunakan chi-square, dengan bantuan SPSS. Kemampuan menulis artikel ilmiah guru IPA olimpiade konstruktor yang siswanya mengikuti BBO dapat dikelompokkan menjadi 3 kategori yaitu kurang, sedang dan baik. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan nyata tentang persepsi penulisan artikel ilmiah pada guru. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa persepsi guru konstruktor olimpiade IPA yang siswanya mengikuti BBO adalah kategori sedang tanpa adanya perbedaan nyata (p = 0,676 *) setelah perlakuan diberikan.

Abstract

The implementation of the Community Service Program (PkM) at SD Saraswati 4 Denpasar in Renon Village which involved 20 teachers from class I to class VI at SD Saraswati 4 Denpasar aims to improve the quality of education in terms of optimizing online learning during the Covid 19 pandemic. All of these activities has implemented through training and simulations, methods in the form of training and assistance on the use of media in the distance learning process / in the network (online). After carrying out the training, an online media application simulation assistance was carried out in learning practice. The results of this activity indicate that partner teachers have been able to use online media in distance learning. These teachers have been able to apply online learning media such as Whatsapp (WA), Google Classroom, Google Meet, and Zoom. The teacher showed an enthusiastic attitude in receiving the material in this program. This can be observed through several indicators such as; the level of attendance during the activity, enthusiasm in participating in learning, attitude in practicing, asking questions related to the material that has been submitted and responding to questions asked properly. The results of the learning evaluation show that partner teachers who previously could not use online media in learning have been able to apply online learning media such as Whatsapp (WA), Google Classroom, Google Meet, and Zoom.
