Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to design, development, and evaluate the effectiveness of the "Edupro" website-based plugin on the Moodle platform in enhancing the object-oriented programming competency of Software Engineering (RPL) students at SMK Negeri 1 Surabaya. The plugin was developed using a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach and the ADDIE development model, designed to support active learning and the development of students' cognitive and psychomotor skills. Expert evaluations indicated excellent validity levels for the media (98%), lesson plans (82%), materials (91%), and evaluation questions (92%), suggesting that the media is highly suitable for learning. The results of the paired sample t-test evaluation showed a significant improvement in students' cognitive and psychomotor understanding, with average posttest scores higher than pretest scores (77.63 > 54.3 for cognitive and 78.88 > 55.83 for psychomotor). The hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test with a Sig.(2-tailed) value of 0.000 (<0.05) confirms that the use of the "Edupro" website-based plugin can improve object-oriented programming learning outcomes for XI grade Software Engineering (RPL) students at SMK Negeri 1 Surabaya.

Abstract

The main problem in formal learning today is the low absorption of students in understanding the material. This can be seen from the average student learning outcomes which are always still low. Low learning outcomes are indicated because the learning conditions are still conventional (lectures, practicums, and discussions). This study aims to determine the effect of pair programming learning models on learning outcomes of vocational high school students. This research was conducted through a literature review and relevant research results and was continued through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). From the research it was found that there was a significant positive influence between the variable pair programming learning model and student learning outcomes, which means that student learning outcomes can be improved through the application of the pair programming learning model.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of Field Work Practice (PKL), self-reliance, and entrepreneurial interest on students’ entrepreneurial readiness, with perceived competence in productive subjects as a mediating variable. The research focuses on students of the Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) major at vocational high schools in the Kediri region of East Java, Indonesia. Method: The study employed a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) technique. Data were collected via a structured, validated questionnaire distributed to 388 respondents and analyzed using SmartPLS 3.0 software. Results: The findings indicate that PKL experience, self-reliance, and entrepreneurial interest significantly influence students’ entrepreneurial readiness. Moreover, perceived competence mediates the relationship between the exogenous variables and entrepreneurial readiness. The integrated model demonstrated good reliability, validity, and explanatory power. Novelty: This study offers a comprehensive model by integrating experiential, psychological, and academic constructs to predict entrepreneurial readiness in vocational students. Unlike previous studies that treated these variables independently, this research highlights the mediating role of perceived competence, providing new insight for vocational education development and curriculum design.

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial interest that arises in students and their readiness to become entrepreneurs through a systematic review of the literature. The analysis of the literature review aims to solve problems related to students' readiness to become entrepreneurs and their perceptions of student skills in productive subjects. Literature Study: A literature review analysis revealed the importance of entrepreneurial interest, independent learning, and productive skills as key factors in shaping vocational high school students' entrepreneurial readiness. These three factors support each other in developing students' abilities, motivation, and courage to start independent businesses.  Findings: There is a relationship between fieldwork experience and entrepreneurial interests developed during school, leading to the creation of a generation of entrepreneurs. Students' readiness for entrepreneurship and their perceptions of productive skills are influenced by each individual's interest and independence in entrepreneurship. Novelty: Entrepreneurship is an alternative solution and effort to increase employment opportunities today. Readiness for entrepreneurship is influenced by entrepreneurial interest, personal independence, productive skills such as literacy, technical skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving, as well as the implementation of fieldwork practices in education. Fieldwork practices, an effective learning strategy, can encourage students to solve real-world challenges collaboratively, creatively, and responsibly.

Abstract

This study investigates cadet performance segmentation during on-board maritime training using clustering analysis of data from the On Training Monitoring (OTMon) system. Grounded in the competency-based education framework and experiential learning theory, the research aims to identify behavioral patterns and competency levels among 80 maritime cadets over a twelve-month sea-based training program. The OTMon application continuously recorded task completion rates, feedback interactions, sign-on consistency, and report submissions. K-Means clustering and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) revealed three distinct cadet profiles: Cluster 1 (high-performing) with average task completion of 92.4% and feedback frequency of 15.2 times/month; Cluster 2 (administratively consistent) with 88.1% completion but only 6.3 feedback interactions/month; and Cluster 3 (at-risk) with 67.5% completion and 3.8 feedback interactions/month. Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) validated the clusters with 98.8% resubstitution accuracy and 97.6% cross-validation accuracy, supported by generalized squared distances above 9.5 between all cluster pairs, indicating strong separation. These findings demonstrate that unsupervised clustering can reliably distinguish high-performing cadets from those needing targeted intervention, enabling data-informed mentoring and adaptive learning strategies in maritime education. The contribution of this study lies in integrating digital monitoring data with both unsupervised and supervised machine learning methods to enhance competency assessment. The novelty is in applying maritime-specific learning analytics for real-time performance segmentation, offering a scalable diagnostic framework for improving supervision quality and supporting individualized cadet development in vocational training contexts.
