Abstract

We have been accepted as sons by the redemption of Jesus Christ, so that we may call God the Father. Therefore, let us live truly as children of God; live well and truly. For we want to touch his heart, call him by the name he loves. Call him Abba, Call Him Father. Of all his names, Abba The Father is Jesus ' call to God. We know that Jesus loved this name because it is the name that is most often used. When Jesus was on earth, he called God” Father " several times. In the prayer of victory on the cross, Jesus cried out with a loud voice; "Father, into your hands I commit my life” (Luke 23:46). God loves to be called Father. Jesus taught us to begin prayer with the words “Our Father”. Perfect love speaks of God's love. Since Jesus called God Abba, the love that can eliminate fear is the love of the Father. Agape love is perfect love, and that is the love of the father. He cares about us, he cares about us. Jesus cried Abba, O Father, so that we Christians who are given strength and salvation by-yes, can cry Abba, Father. We call him Abba, the Father because he is our Father, he cares for us, and He understands us. Perfect love exists only in the father and is able to eliminate all worries. If the Father loves Jesus as his son, the Father in heaven also loves us as his children as Christians who believe in the truth and the way of eternal salvation. For this reason, the author chose the title: "Abba Father", Jesus ‘call to God in the perspective of Biblical Theology from the book of Psalms 89:26, he will also cry out to me: 'My Father You Are God and my rock my salvation.’

Abstract

The Heidelberg Catechism’s opening question, with its emphasis on “consolation,” represents a profound theological and pastoral exploration of the human condition. It underscores the enduring quest for true comfort, rooted in faith in Jesus Christ, and offers solace and hope amid life’s uncertainties and the inevitability of death. Understanding the historical context, theological depth, and practical implications of this question enhances one’s appreciation for the enduring relevance of the Heidelberg Catechism in the Christian tradition. Further study and reflection on its teachings can enrich the spiritual journey of believers seeking lasting consolation in their faith. This article aims to explain that the first question in the Helderberg Catechism is Theocentric. This is because there are scholars who say that the Heidelberg Catechism is very people-centered because it starts with a question that seems to tend to emphasize human needs. The author uses the literature method in this study. The final result of this study the author will show that the Helderberg Catechism is Theocentric, not People-Centered because the first question in the Helderberg Catechism is based on the awareness that God is the true source of comfort so that Christians only want to seek true comfort from God.

Abstract

Contemporary conceptions of divine power are frequently framed in terms of sovereignty and unilateral control. This article proposes an alternative theological model by examining the kenosis of the Holy Spirit within the context of creation. The central objective is to explore how the Spirit’s self-emptying presence constitutes a mode of divine empowerment that operates not through coercion but by enabling the freedom of creation. Employing a reflective theological methodology, this study integrates biblical exegesis—particularly of Genesis 1:2 and Psalm 104:30—with systematic theological reflection and critical engagement with the works of key theologians such as Jürgen Moltmann, Hans Urs von Balthasar, John Zizioulas, and Karl Barth. The analysis demonstrates that the kenotic action of the Holy Spirit should not be construed as divine absence but rather as a purposeful self-limitation that nurtures a relational and participatory cosmos. Accordingly, this study contributes to pneumatological discourse by articulating a paradigm of divine power grounded in relationality, humility, and ethical responsibility, offering constructive implications for theology, anthropology, and ecology.
