Abstract

In this crisis, the entire world economy can be seen growing slower and inflation is faster. MSMEs play an important role in overcoming obstacles to poverty, inequality and job creation. However, the development of SMEs still encounters many obstacles such as inadequate human resources, few raw material resources, activities that are low on environmental resilience, and inadequate coordination in governance resilience. Using the systematic literature review research method, which collects several related journals from Google Sholar, Emerald, Science Direct and Elsevier. As a result, the Crisis had an overall strong effect on the resilience of telecommunications companies. Given this, this study suggests that; Businesses should have a center for training corporate leaders and managers and equip them with the necessary capacities to overcome crises. When emergencies and public crises occur, crisis decision making is critical. Crisis decision-making must follow the principles of social (organizational) reform, the principle of selective radicalism and the principle of taking risks and avoiding possibilities by considering accurate information

Abstract

Facing employee retention challenges, this study aims to analyze the influence of Work Life Balance (WLB) and Job Satisfaction (JS) on Employee Retention (ER), and to examine the mediating role of JS in the WLB and ER relationship. The retention problem was identified at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division II West Sumatra, marked by fluctuating turnover rates and indications of issues with WLB and job satisfaction. This study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Primary data were collected via questionnaires distributed to all employees of PT KAI Regional Division II West Sumatra. The study involved 227 employees as a sample, selected through simple random sampling from a total population of 552. The data were processed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. Testing was conducted on the measurement model (validity and reliability) and the structural model (hypothesis testing). The results show that WLB has a positive and significant effect on JS (path coefficient 0.991; p<0.001). JS also has a positive and significant effect on ER (path coefficient 1.575; p<0.001). However, the direct effect of WLB on ER was not significant (path coefficient -0.612; p=0.328). Crucially, JS was found to fully mediate the relationship between WLB and ER, with a positive and significant indirect effect. The model demonstrated strong predictive capability, evidenced by R 2 values of 0.982 for JS and 0.987 for ER. This research concludes that improving WLB indirectly enhances ER by creating higher JS, which is a key factor in retaining talent.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Islamic Work Ethics (IWE) and Affective Commitments (AC) on Teacher Performance (TP) at Insan Cendekia Boarding School Payakumbuh, with Job Satisfaction (JS) as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, collecting data from 152 randomly selected teachers using structured questionnaires. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0, encompassing descriptive analysis, measurement and structural model evaluations, and hypothesis testing. The results reveal that Islamic work ethics significantly improve job satisfaction but do not directly affect teacher performance. However, job satisfaction mediates the relationship, enabling Islamic work ethics to enhance performance indirectly. Similarly, affective commitments positively influence both job satisfaction and teacher performance, with job satisfaction playing a significant mediating role. These findings underscore the critical role of job satisfaction in amplifying the impact of ethical practices and emotional commitment on teacher performance. The research highlights the need for a holistic approach in educational management that integrates Islamic values, emotional engagement, and teacher well-being to foster a high-performing environment. Practical implications include promoting job satisfaction through fair compensation, professional growth opportunities, and a supportive work atmosphere to ensure teacher excellence in boarding schools.

Abstract

This research explores how individual entrepreneurs' personalities can be mapped through palmistry and fingerprint analysis to understand their decision-making patterns. Using an exploratory qualitative approach, this study identifies the linkages between these biometric characteristics and decision-making methods, such as effectuation and causality. The results show that certain patterns in palmistry, such as hand types (fire, earth, air, and water) and life lines, and fingerprints, such as loop, arch, and whorl patterns, provide significant insights into entrepreneurs' personalities. For example, fire hand types reflect courage and creativity, which encourage innovative decisions, while earth hand types are more conservative, favouring stability and planning. The fingerprint patterns also provide additional insights into the personality dimensions that influence how entrepreneurs deal with business challenges.
