Abstract

The spread of Islamic teachings through various strategies and media is carried out in various countries throughout the world. Pattani, which is a province in Thailand, is still trying to maintain Islamic culture, through the spread of Islamic knowledge among the community. One of the efforts made is by publishing Azan magazine, which provides reading related to Islamic knowledge. The characteristic of this magazine is that it is written in Jawi Malay which is the identity of the Pattani people. This descriptive qualitative research aims to analyze the existence of Azan magazine as an Islamic broadcast media. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interview, documentation and literature study. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Hubermen Interactive Analysis, with data validity techniques using the Triangulation method. The research results found that Azan magazine, which is now 50 years old, still exists as a medium for disseminating Islamic knowledge in Pattani, Thailand, and has become an identity for the Thai Muslim community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of using non-digital or “traditional” learning media on the learning concentration of Grade X students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of increasing student distractions caused by the use of gadgets and digital media, which often reduce focus during the learning process. Therefore, alternative learning strategies are needed by utilizing simple media that emphasize direct interaction between teachers and students. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach through questionnaires distributed to Grade X students as respondents. The study population consists of all Grade X students at one senior high school, with the sample determined using Slovin’s formula to ensure representativeness. Data were analyzed using simple regression techniques to measure the extent of the influence of non-digital learning media on students’ concentration levels in PAI learning. The results of the study show a positive and significant effect, where non-digital learning media such as blackboards, flashcards, and simple teaching aids were proven to help increase focus, reduce distractions, and strengthen comprehension of religious subject matter. In addition, the use of traditional media encourages active student participation through discussions and hands-on activities, making the learning process more interactive. Thus, this study concludes that non-digital learning media remain relevant as effective alternatives, particularly in PAI learning for Grade X students, and can serve as a practical solution in addressing the challenges of the digital era, which is filled with potential distractions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the question-and-answer method in improving students’ understanding of Islamic Education (PAI) material at Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah 1 Medan. This research employs a quantitative approach with a simple descriptive design. The sample consisted of 5 respondents who were eleventh-grade students. The instruments used were comprehension tests administered before and after the implementation of the question-and-answer method, as well as observation sheets to assess student engagement during the learning process. The data were analyzed using mean and percentage calculations to identify the improvement in learning outcomes. The results show a significant increase in students’ understanding after applying the question-and-answer method. Students became more active in answering and asking questions, making the classroom atmosphere more interactive. This proves that the question-and-answer method is effective as a learning strategy in PAI to enhance students’ conceptual understanding. This study is expected to serve as a reference for PAI teachers in selecting appropriate teaching methods to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Implementasi program full day school terhadap pembentukan karakter peserta didik dapat dilihat dari sejauh mana tujuan pendidikan sekolah tercapai dan dari hasil proses pembentukan karakter, khususnya karakter keagamaan. Salah satu langkah strategis untuk membentuk karakter peserta didik yang berkualitas adalah dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai keagamaan melalui sistem pembelajaran yang intensif dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengimplementasian program full day school, masalah yang dihadapi dan solusi program full day school terhadap pembentukan karakter peserta didik di SMA IT Unggul Al Munadi Medan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif untuk memperoleh strategi pembentukan karakter melalui penyelenggaraan program full day school, dengan teknik pendekatan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan program full day school di sekolah ini mampu membimbing peserta didik melalui berbagai kegiatan pembiasaan, penguatan perilaku dengan keteladanan guru, serta penguatan dengan mendorong perilaku positif dengan penanaman nilai-nilai keislaman dalam keseharian peserta didik. Peserta Didik tidak hanya mendapatkan ilmu akademik, namun juga terbina secara spiritual dan sosial dengan pembelajaran dan model pendidikan yang menyenangkan, sehingga memiliki aktivitas yang produktif dan terhindar dari perilaku menyimpang, sehingga penerapan full day school terbukti dapat memberikan dampak positif dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik bukan hanya dalam hal kedisiplinan dan kecerdasan intelektual, tetapi juga menanamkan nilai keagamaan, tanggung jawab, kerja sama, dan kepedulian sosial.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in shaping students’ character in the digital era, particularly through the use of non-digital learning media. The rapid development of technology has brought both positive and negative impacts on students. On one hand, technology facilitates access to information and enables more interactive learning processes. On the other hand, exposure to negative content and digital distractions can weaken students’ concentration and moral control. This research employed a quantitative method with a survey approach and a correlational design. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire from five respondents selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that teaching IRE using non-digital media significantly improves students’ concentration, discipline, and awareness of worship. Furthermore, IRE positively contributes to fostering wise internet usage and proper digital communication ethics. These results indicate that combining traditional approaches with the integration of religious values is highly effective in addressing the challenges of the digital era and promoting the development of students’ character rooted in Islamic values.

Abstract

This article is the result of ResearchMu's Community Service (CSA) activities which aim to create a Disaster Safe Education Unit (DSEU) at the Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal (ABA) Kindergarten level in Medan City. The realization of DSEU is one of the work programs of this CSA partner, namely the Environmental and Disaster Management Institute (EDMI) for the Regional Leadership of 'Aisyiyah, North Sumatra Province. This CSA program includes three activities, namely; 1) Environmental and disaster education activities, targeting school residents who are parents of ABA Kindergarten students; 2) Providing assistance with disaster equipment and infrastructure to DSEU project schools, namely kindergartens. ABA 05 Kindergarten Dadap Village, Medan, and 3) Conducted DSEU Training of Trainers (TOT) for school principals and ABA Kindergarten teachers throughout Medan City. The strategy used in implementing CSA is a collaboration of pentahelix elements, namely: 1) The government makes the policy, in this case BNPB and BPBD; 2) The partner organization is EDMI for the Regional Leadership of 'Aisyiyah, North Sumatra Province, which collaborates with Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Centre for the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra; Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Education Council  of Medan City, and ABA Teachers Association of Medan City; 3) Academics who are resource persons are lecturers according to their field of expertise and; 4) The target community for activity participants is school residents, school principals, teachers and student guardians, as well as 5) Print and electronic media, which propagates this good practice activity. The result of this CSA is the realization of DSEU which has become a project school, as well as an increase in the understanding of ABA kindergarten school residents throughout the city of Medan about disaster education which is correlated with improving the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the negative and positive impacts of cross-department learning (LINJUR) in the Independent Student Exchange Program 3 (PMM3) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Through a qualitative approach, this study highlights the challenges faced by PAI students who take part in the program, such as information discrepancies, difficulties in academic adaptation, language and cultural barriers, and difficulties in building relationships. However, there are also positive impacts, such as broadening of horizons and knowledge, development of communication and interpersonal skills, personal growth and adaptation skills, building networks and career opportunities, and increased confidence and initiative. Implications of these findings include the need to provide more accurate information on available courses, better support in the adaptation process, and further exploration of strategies that can maximize the benefits of cross-departmental student exchange programs. This research provides a deep understanding of students' experiences in facing challenges and taking advantage of opportunities in the context of cross-department learning, as well as providing a basis for further development in the implementation of PMM programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the use of image media as an additional method in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of the Qur'an and Hadith at SMP IT Ruhul Jadid. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach by collecting data through observation, interviews, documentation of the implementation of image media in the learning process. The results of the study on the implementation of the use of image media show that the use of image media has succeeded in making it easier for students to understand the verses of the Qur'an, involving students in learning, and creating a dynamic and interactive learning environment. In conclusion, the implementation of image media as an additional strategy in the quality of learning the Qur'an and Hadith at SMP IT Ruhul Jadid, strengthens the spiritual and social dimensions of students through a holistic educational approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi metode cerita pada mata pelajaran sejarah kebudayaan Islam di SMP IT Muhammadiyah Simpang Empat Marbau Labuhanbatu Utara serta apa saja faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode cerita pada mata pelajaran sejarah kebudayaan Islam di kelas VII SMP IT Muhammadiyah Simpang Empat Marbau Labuhanbatu Utara berjalan dengan baik, akan tetapi dalam pelaksanaannya masih ada beberapa faktor atau kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru bidang studi sejarah kebudayaan Islam, sehingga menyebabkan para siswa kurang memahami konteks dan makna yang terkandung dari pelajaran sejarah kebudayaan Islam.
