Abstract

The rapid development of the industrial world has made it a necessity for companies to compete with their competitors. Therefore, companies must control the quality of their products well, one of which is by analyzing defective products. The purpose of this research is to analyze the level of defects in Toolbox products produced by PT KSKB and provide improvement suggestions to reduce the level of defects in PT KSKB Toolbox products. This research uses data on the number of productions and the number of defective products obtained through field observations and interview processes. The method used in this research is the Seven Tools and Kaizen Five-M Checklist method of improvement analysis. Based on the data processing results, there are three types of defects in Toolbox products: burrs, materials with holes, and cutting with no precision. The most frequent type of defect is burrs (an uneven surface of the object due to the working process), with a value of 52.12%. Meanwhile, from the analysis of the Kaizen Five-M Checklist, periodic training (training and OJT) needs to be conducted for employees, routine machine maintenance needs to be carried out, standard operating procedures need to be evaluated, and work areas need to be evaluated to create a safe and comfortable working environment so that the level of product defects can be reduced.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pelaksanaan kerja, mengurangi pemborosan, serta mengembangkan kompetensi karyawan melalui penerapan pendekatan Lean Thinking pada proses produksi di perusahaan industri karet. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui serangkaian tahapan yang meliputi observasi lapangan, pelatihan intensif terkait prinsip-prinsip lean, pendampingan implementasi di area produksi, serta penyusunan future state process mapping sebagai panduan perbaikan berkelanjutan. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman karyawan terhadap konsep lean, perbaikan keteraturan dan kerapian area kerja, penurunan tingkat kecacatan produk, serta berkurangnya penumpukan aliran proses yang ditandai dengan menurunnya material menganggur dan meningkatnya kelancaran aliran kerja. Penerapan sistem kerja yang lebih terstruktur juga berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan kesadaran mutu dan kedisiplinan karyawan dalam menjalankan prosedur kerja. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Lean Thinking secara sistematis dan berkelanjutan mampu meningkatkan produktivitas serta kualitas proses melalui eliminasi aktivitas tidak bernilai tambah dan penguatan budaya perbaikan berkelanjutan di lingkungan perusahaan.

Abstract

In the increasingly competitive automotive industry, effective raw material control is essential to achieve cost efficiency, maintain production continuity, and ensure accurate distribution. PT XYZ, an automotive manufacturing company located in Karawang, faces several challenges, including high demand fluctuations, dependence on imported raw materials, and the absence of safety stock calculations, which increase the risk of inventory shortages. This study aims to determine the optimal raw material planning method by integrating demand forecasting and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) using the Lot for Lot (LFL) technique in the production of the KWU-type Timing Chain Cover (TCC). This research employs a quantitative case study approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Demand forecasting is conducted using Double Exponential Smoothing, Moving Average, and Linear Regression methods. The most accurate forecasting method is then used as an input for preparing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and MRP. The results indicate that the Linear Regression method provides the highest forecasting accuracy, as indicated by the lowest Mean Squared Error (MSE) value of 2,075,786,061. Furthermore, the implementation of MRP using the Lot for Lot technique combined with safety stock calculations proves effective in reducing the risk of stockouts. This improvement is reflected in the stabilization of inventory levels, such as the water pump bearing component, which previously experienced zero stock conditions and is now maintained at a safety stock level of 37,770 units. In conclusion, the integration of Linear Regression forecasting and Lot for Lot-based MRP enhances planning accuracy, ensures raw material availability, and supports long-term operational efficiency at PT XYZ.

Abstract

Improving teacher quality is a strategic element in improving the quality of national education. However, various structural and systemic challenges still hinder the optimization of teachers' roles in Indonesia. This study aims to identify the main challenges in improving teacher quality and analyze the efforts made through government policies to address these challenges. The research method used is library research, involving the review of various academic literature, policy documents, and relevant research reports. The results of the study show that the main challenges include disparities in teacher competencies and qualifications, uneven distribution of teachers, especially in 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) areas, lack of continuous professional training and development, high administrative burdens, and low teacher welfare and motivation. Analysis of government policies indicates that despite the existence of various programs such as teacher certification, the Teacher Development Program, and the digitization of training, their implementation still faces numerous obstacles. In conclusion, improving teacher quality requires more holistic, integrated, and sustainability-oriented policies, as well as equitable access to professional development.

Abstract

Research on human resource development have been carried out. With the aim of can be used as parameters to create the development of quality human resources. This research aims to know the influence of opportunities on the assessment of the performance of employees. Opportunities under study is divided into three indicators, namely the environment, the rules and colleagues. Sampling technique in this study using a sampling of saturated. The technique of data analysis was conducted gradually, starting from the editing, coding, scoring and tabulation. In addition, using a likert scale developed by Ransis Likert. While for the development of research using statistical methods, it is necessary to qualify the classical assumption test before the test is conducted multiple linear regression. It aims to determine how much significance of significance testing. The results from the hypothesis t, there is on the value tcount for the partial (sequential) starting from X1 = 2,639, X2 = 3,379 and X3 = 2,210. In addition, the results of the hypothesis F, contained in the value of Fcount simultaneously (together) was 12,597. While the value of R Square (R2) of 0,282, if then the result of 28.2%. It can be concluded from the three independent variables affect the dependent variable by 28,2%.

Abstract

UMKM Bintang Jaya Gypsum adalah perusahaan mikro yang memproduksi furniture gypsum yang menerapkan sistem produksi make to order. Penelitian di UMKM ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis waktu dan jarak aliran proses produksi, serta pola aliran proses produksi yang dihubungkan dengan tata letak area kerja perusahaan. Analisis terhadap aliran proses produksi dilakukan dengan menggunakan peta aliran proses dan diagram aliran sehingga waktu, jarak, dan pola aliran proses produksi perusahaan dapaat diketahui. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa waktu dan jarak aliran proses produksi bernilai 20.75 meter dan 103.75 detik dengan pola aliran proses yang kurang baik karena tidak searah. Usulan perbaikan terhadap tata letak dilakukan oleh peneliti terhadap perusahaan dan menghasilkan perbaikan jarak dan waktu aliran proses produksi sebesar 7.25 meter dan 33.25 detik, serta perbaikan pola aliran proses proses menjadi lebih efisien dan searah sehingga memudahkan pekerja dalam melakukan proses transportasi dalam kegiatan produksi gypsum.

Abstract

Every customer wish to go to a workshop always consider in selecting the official workshop or the public. The high level of the intensity of the queue and the service provided make the customer consider in determining service for the owned vehicle. The purpose of this study is to determine the market share of the authorised and general. In addition the right strategy to attract customers so it remains to choose the workshop. Then the method that will be used gradually, starting from the markov chain, quene problem and the decision support system. To quene problem using the model multiple channel query system and decision support sytem using simple additipe weighting method. The results obtained gradually, starting from the market share for a period of 1 to 3 by 60% and 40% as a result of markov chain. While the results of the quene problem obtained the average arrival rate of 4 customers with a level of service of 1.02/h and waiting time for 30 minutes. As for the decision support system with a total labor cost to 5 mechanical man Rp.20.800/h and obtained the cost of waiting for customer Rp.79,000/day

Abstract

Production results that are handled manually are lifting the burden of jerry cans weighing 24 kg from the conveyor to the pallet. This removal process is risky for musculoceletal and can cause lower back pain. The appointment process takes place in the packing line section D. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of risk, find out the form of conveyor in accordance with working conditions and provide recommendations for corrective actions to be taken when the operator's work attitude has the risk of injury. The assessment of work posture is based on the assessment of RULA for each part (upper arm, forearm, wrist, wrist rotation, back, neck, and leg position) which are then categorized based on the results of the grand score on the action level indicating that the posture is required repair or not. The results of this study found that 3 workers for the grand score of work posture an average of 7 which indicates the need for action now. This is influenced by heavy loads with manual lifting.

Abstract

The processing of chair products has dominated demand in Indonesia, requiring manufacturers to always be able to develop product innovations. Multifunctional chairs that can be a product renewal can be an opportunity for the market. To find out what consumers want and the feasibility of this business, a study was conducted on the design and development of multifunctional chair products based on consumer needs and the feasibility of a business that will be run in 2021-2023 in Subang district. This study aims to design and develop products in a structured manner according to the needs and expectations of consumers and to analyze the business feasibility of multifunctional chair products. The method used is quantitative, namely by using Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and business feasibility aspects with a multifunctional chair product analysis unit. The results of the approach using QFD show that there are 6 product characteristics along with 3 product dimensions for designing a multifunctional chair product with the highest absolute and relative weight owned by the dimensions of the beauty of the product. While the results obtained based on the feasibility study obtained NPV > 0, Rp. 323,684,304.9, IRR value > deposit interest of 99.4%, Net B/C value > 1 of 1.19, payback period of less than 2 years, namely 23 months and BEP of 7 units. Based on this, it is stated that the business of making multifunctional chair products is feasible, so that the business can be run.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a manufacturing company in the paper industry with a continuous production system, making machine reliability a critical factor in maintaining smooth processes and high product quality. A vital system within the Cutter Strachain Henshain Machine (SHM) is the tension measurement system, which regulates paper web tension during the handling process. Field observations at PT XYZ revealed recurring disturbances caused by tension reading failure, which created significant discrepancies between Human Machine Interface (HMI) readouts and actual paper web conditions. While Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is widely studied, its application to vintage, highly sensitive paper-tension control loops operating continuously for over two decades represents a distinct socio-technical operational gap. This study aims to analyze the maintenance strategy of the SHM tension measurement system using the RCM method to address this critical gap. Using a descriptive empirical approach incorporating structured observation, historical maintenance logging, and technical interviews, the system's operational functions, functional failure, and failure modes were systematically mapped. The analytical findings demonstrate that the primary point of failure stems from localized sensor contamination and localized degradation, severely compromising tension reading accuracy. Implementing an RCM-guided maintenance strategy, specifically through scheduled condition-directed maintenance and structured functional testing, is recommended. Quantitative projections indicate that these interventions can reduce total machine downtime by up to 15.4%, optimizing continuous production stability and mitigating cascading cutting defects.
