Abstract

This study aimed to address Indonesia's critical environmental issue of waste management by designing optimal user services for an eGovernment waste management application. The research is exploratory in nature, employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to develop an integrated digital solution. Our methodology includes data analysis from World Bank reports, insights from the Ocean Conservancy, and the examination of government policies and advanced technological applications. The results demonstrated the urgent need for efficient waste management systems, as Indonesia is the second-largest contributor to oceanic plastic waste. We propose a framework for an e-Government application that leverages Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and digital platforms to monitor, manage, and optimize waste management processes, enhancing transparency and effectiveness. Our findings suggested that the application's user-centric design significantly improves community engagement and participation in sustainable waste practices. The implications of this research point towards a scalable and sustainable model for waste management that can be adopted by other regions facing similar challenges. We recommend further development of the application with a focus on user feedback and iterative design to ensure adaptability to diverse waste management contexts. The contribution of this study lies in its potential to revolutionize waste management practices through digital transformation, providing a blueprint for environmental sustainability initiatives within e-Government frameworks. Keywords: waste management, digital transformation, E-Government Applications, sustainability, user services

Abstract

E-Learning nowadays is still accessible via the web browser. E-Learning has a server named Learning Management System (LMS). LMS consists of a paid, unpaid and a tailor (version specially ordered). For this research, LMS is used which is not paid. There are lots of LMS are not paid, one of these is Claroline. The development of E-Learning is followed by the development of mobile devices such as Android devices. Android usage has increased each year but applications for E-Learning are still underdeveloped. Based on this background, then it is needed to develop an E-Learning application on Android mobile devices, because Android devices can support the development of client applications of E-Learning. The purpose of developing this application is to enable users who use Android devices to download the file from existing lecture materials wherever, whenever they want through their Android devices.In this research, the application is developed using Eclipse as an IDE using Java programming language for Android, XML, and of course the Claroline as the LMS server. This application is the complement of Claroline which is normally access through a web browser.The results of this research show that the client application is able to download files that exist on the lecture materials from Claroline server. Keywords : E-Learning, Android, Learning Management System, Claroline, Mobile Application, E-LearningApplication

Abstract

AbstractThe condition of a location can be seen and known through a map. Even though The University of Lampung has a campus map in a form of paper, still the data displayed in this form is very limited. This map has not been used to display information related to the existing facilities and personnel of the University of Lampung. This research design a web based Geographic Information System (GIS) focusing on information of lecturer and his/her department unit. This web based GIS can be used as a tool for visitors and academics to obtain information on faculty unit, building, facilities, as well as the map of the University of Lampung. This web based GIS is developed using several open source software which are QuantumGIS, MapServer, Pmapper Framework and MySQL database. Pmapper Framework increase  speed, accuracy, convenience and consistency in the development of applications that use MapServer.Keywords : facilities, map, MapServer, Pmapper framework, The University of Lampung, web based GIS.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelago country that has a strategic geographical location with many ethnic groups. One way to preserve art and culture in Indonesia is to teach and introduce them to the next generation. Starting from elementary school children have been taught to know Indonesian arts and cultures from text books. Unfortunately, the learning is less interesting because the subjects are delivered in monotonous and conventional way. On this research, an interactive learning system is developed. The developed Web based-GIS system covers introduction of arts and cultures of 33 provinces in Indonesia. Data used in this research is obtained from art and culture book and the official website of Indonesian cultures. The system was implemented using softwares of ArcView, MapServer, MySQL database and PHP programming language. The research results showed that this learning system can provide information from each province in Indonesia based on the category selected by the user. This system can display  information in form of pictures of traditional houses and weapons and video of the related cultures. Moreover, this system also helps students to understand more the material by using  it’s quiz tool.

Abstract

Dengue Fever (DBD) and Malaria are kinds of diseases that often caused an extraordinary occurrence in Indonesia. Both diseases can spread rapidly and cause death in short time. The prediction of occurrence of Dengue Fever (DBD) and Malaria diseases in Bandar Lampung, still processed manually and presented in form of tables and graphs. In this research, Web-based Geographic Information System (WEB-GIS) was developed to provide information of the spreading of Dengue Fever (DBD) and Malaria diseases in the City of Bandar Lampung. Data was obtained from the Department of Health of the City government. The WEB-GIS was implemented using Arcview, MapServer, MySQL database, and PHPMapscript programming language. The result shows that WEB-GIS could provide information of spreading area of Dengue Fever (DBD) and Malaria diseases in Bandar Lampung until village level.Keywords : Dengue Fever, Malaria, WEB-GIS

Abstract

SMT’s secretariat is one of the PT. PLN (Persero) Power Generation Sector of Tarahan which is responsible fordocument control process. The documents control form start from submission until distribution are still inmanual process, for example, the distributed documents still in the hardcopy. This research creates theIntegrated Management Information System or SIMANTEP Online which is an integrated information systemthat gave online service of documents management at PT. PLN (Persero) Power Generation Sector of TarahanLampung. The information system is made using Extreme Programming (XP), one of Agile DevelopmentMethods. The result of this research is an online information system which is not only accessible in TarahanPLTU’s office area, but also can be accessed by the internet. The SIMANTEP Online also provides conveniencefor the user in terms of documents management and control, start from the submission, validation, anddistribution of documents with online service.

Abstract

People need more information about geographical related objects, for example: distance between regions, object locations, facilities, natural resources etc. Geographic Information System (GIS)  is a solution for getting information on geographical related objects. The object of this research is Lampung culinary, because Lampung Province has many typical foods and many culinary places for young people, teenagers, and parents to gather. That culinary places can be categorized as café, restaurant, and many more. This application is developed using Microsoft Visual Basic Express 2010 and MapWinGIS ActiveX Control.  The development of this application implement Water Fall method.  Other supporting softwares  are My GPS Coordinates, Quantum GIS, and Microsoft Access Database.

Abstract

Masih banyak orang islam yang belum bisa membaca Al Qur’an, baik anak – anak maupun orang dewasa. Selain kesibukan aktifitas yang dilakukan, bagi orang dewasa rasa malu kepada orang lain menjadi alasan utama. Salah satu cara belajar membaca Al Quran yaitu dengan menggunakan iqro’. Iqro’ dalam bentuk buku masih banyak digunakan, sehingga dirasa kurang interaktif dan membuat cepat bosan untuk mempelajarinya. Android sebagai sistem operasi untuk perangkat mobile, sudah banyak digunakan. Android juga bersifat open source sehingga aplikasi – aplikasinya lebih mudah untuk dikembangkan. Aplikasi iqro’ ini akan terintegrasi dengan Smartphone dan Tablet PC berbasis Android, sehingga pengguna bisa mempelajarinya dimana saja dan kapan saja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat aplikasi iqro’ yang memiliki tampilan bagus, mudah digunakan, mudah dipelajari dan menyenangkan bagi penggunanya. Selain itu juga, tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengenalkan kepada orang tentang teknologi informasi khususnya Android. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu suatu aplikasi iqro’ berbasis Android yang bisa digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif untuk mempelajari iqro’ agar lebih interaktif dan memberikan kemudahan dalam mempelajarinya. Kata kunci: Android, Aplikasi, Iqro’, Media Pembelajaran Alternatif, Open Source.

Abstract

Asset management is very  important aspect to company like PT. PLN.  Asset management may include record keeping, maintenance and environment management. Recording information asset owned by a company is the primary and most important thing to do. With the information obtained from the recording of data asset, the company will be able to know exactly what asset and how exactly the asset owned by the company. Having recorded assets, the company will be able to optimize the use of assets and the company will be easier to undertake further asset management. PT PLN (Persero) Tarahan’s Generating Sector is a Steam Power Plant which has assets spread both inside and outside the building. The dominant’s equipmens in this site plant are the generating engines. The process of recording information of assets in PT PLN (Persero) Tarahan’s Generating Sector is not entirely managed by computerized system. The process of recording assets is still done manually and not reliable.   This research develoved an Asset Inventory Information System which has features  that can do registration of information detail about attributes and monitoring and mapping the location of existing asset. This research is covering the fixed assets that exist in the Utility Building. Web-based GIS  of Asset Inventory Information System is built by using MapServer and Pmapper. Pmapper is a framework based on MapServer and PHP/Mapscript. Pmapper provides a good set of tools ready to use and it has a plugin API to add functionalities. The toughness of this framework is able to run well in various web-browser. Abstract

AbstractAs the development of technologies in computers, human beings are competing to create the newest technology in the form of hardware and software. The big companies are certainly use computer-based information system (CBIS) for example PT PLN (Persero) of  Lampung Region. PT PLN (Persero) of Lampung Region is a company that supplies electricity for Lampung Province.  They have activities that associated with mailing and receiving letter.  The received letters are accommodated in the secretary and are documented and archived using computer in semi manual manner. The computer system used less efficient and with given amount of letters often cause mistakes and slowness in registering them. This caused the slowness of searching of the archives and as well in generating and recap for the letters reporting.  Moreover the letters documentation security is absent. Because of that, the existing system needs to be developed to improve services and good security.  This research goal is to make a system for a letters documentation that has security features such as logins, and a good encryption and decryption using Twofish algorithms. This research used Visual basic 6.0 programming language combined with MySQL database and Crystal Report. The system development methodology used in this research is Waterfall.
