Abstract

Rice is an important commodity because  it is a staple food source for almost all Indonesian people. One way to increase rice production is by using available resources more efficiently. The use of production factors such as land, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and labor will affect the total production of rice produced. This study aims to determine the technicality of inorganic rice cultivation, calculate production costs and analyze the efficiency of inorganic rice farming production in the District of Rakit Kulim. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis, farming cost analysis and DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) analysis. The number of samples is 40 inorganic rice farmers. The results showed that the inorganic rice cultivation technique in the District of Rakit Kulim was not in accordance with the recommendations. Incompatibility is caused by the unavailability of technical books for inorganic rice cultivation from the localita specific crop study center. The total cost of producing inorganic rice farming in the District of Rakit Kulim is Rp. 23,622,481, - / Ha. While the average income is Rp. 24,230,168, - / Ha with a net income of 607,687, - / Ha with an RCR value of 1.07. The results of the analysis of production efficiency using DEA show that the proportion of technically efficient farmers is 50percents with an average value of 0.946. The proportion of efficient farmers is allocatively relatively small at 32.5percents with an average value of 0.975. Economic efficiency is relatively small at 32.5percents with an average value of 0.927.

Abstract

Limitations of potential land for oil palm led the development of oil palm plantation to tidal wetlands which is have various limiting factors hampered drainage, high salinity, the potential content of pyrite, peat depth dan maturity. The development of oil palm plantation to tidal wetland required investment cost dan operatinal cost are higher than mineral land or peat land. On the other hand, the production dan productivity of freshfruit bunch (FFB) is much lower with shorter economic life of the oil palm.

Abstract

Porang agribusiness has prospects to be developed because porang is a plant that has various benefits. Porang farming in recent years has only been carried out by farmers in Pekanbaru City. Porang farming certainly has its own challenges if it is planted in Riau, especially in Pekanbaru City. Farmers hope that porang farming can provide maximum profit. This study aims to: (a) Analyze the prospects for developing porang agribusiness in Pekanbaru City and (b) Analyze porang farming in Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted from February 2021 to December 2021. Descriptive rating scale analysis and farming analysis were applied in this study to analyze the prospects for the development of porang agribusiness in Pekanbaru City. The results of this study indicate that the prospect of developing porang agribusiness in Pekanbaru City is prospective and can provide benefits. This is because porang can adapt well in Pekanbaru City if farmers cultivate porang according to the recommendations of Good Agricultural Practice for Food Crops (Ministry of Agriculture Number 48 of 2006) and Good Agricultural Practice of Porang Cultivation (Department of Agriculture Mojokerto in 2020), although the recommendations for porang cultivation are specifically for Riau doesn't exist yet.
