Abstract

Becoming a successful student is a dream of every student and parents. Learning style is one of things that might influence that success. This research intended to find out if there is a correlation between learning styles and learning achievement of students of FKIP Universitas Riau in learning English. 300 students were involved as the sample of the research. The research was conducted during the even semester academic year 2018-2019 and the research data was collected in June 2019. The instruments of the research were adapted from Vark Questionnaire Version8.01 and students’ grades in their English class.Percentage and mean used to represent the frequency ofdata for descriptive analysis and inferential analysis was carried out. Since the data of students’ learning style and learning achievement obtained were not normally distributed, associative Kendall’s Tau-c correlation formula was used to find out the relationship between learning style and learning achievement. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the students learning style and their learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the variables (1) leadership knowledge on the effectiveness of the principal's work, (2) managerial competence on the effectiveness of the principal's work, (3) leadership knowledge and managerial competence together on the effectiveness of the principal's work. Research respondents were principals of public elementary schools in Rokan Hilir Regency, totaling 305 people with a sample of 173. Data was collected through questionnaires as a research instrument. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The instrument reliability coefficient was calculated using the Cronbach alpha formula. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence of leadership knowledge on the work effectiveness of the principal of 0.707, and there was a positive and significant influence of managerial competence on the work effectiveness of the principal of 0.603. Meanwhile, together there is an effect of leadership knowledge and managerial competence on the effectiveness of the principal's work of 0.553

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of variables (1) workload on teacher work stress levels, (2) dual role conflict on teacher work stress levels, (3) workload and dual role conflict together on teacher work stress levels. The research respondents were principals of public elementary schools in Tanjung Medan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, totaling 148 people with a sample of 108. The data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires as research instruments. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The instrument reliability coefficient was calculated using the Cronbach alpha formula. The results showed that there was a positive and significant effect of workload on the teacher's work stress level of 0.517, there was a positive and significant influence of dual role conflict on the teacher's work stress level of 0.458. Meanwhile, together there is an effect of workload and dual role conflict on the teacher's work stress level of 0.543

Abstract

Kajian ini menjelaskan dampak permainan tradisional terhadap perkembangan kapabilitas afektif pada anak usia dini. Permainan yang dilakukan anak bersama-sama itu merupakan aktivitas yang membahagiakan dan menyenangkan. Proses transfer ilmu melalui bermain memberikan anak kesempatan belajar secara alami, keceriaan dalam proses main-main mampu menciptakan energi yang luar biasa. Dalam permainan rangkaian kepandaian disesuaikan dengan tingkah laku peserta didik. Kajian ini merupakan kajian scientifik. Fokus kajian merupakan peserta didik usia dini sebanyak 25 orang melalui permainan tradisional congklak dan permainan tali ma ma se. Akumulasi bahan kajian dikerjakan melalui eksplorasi, wawancara serta pengarsipan. Berlandaskan kajian, diperoleh konklusi bahwa permainan tradisional berdampak posistif terhadap kapabilitas afektif anak usia dini. Hal ini berlandaskan reaksi telaah kajian melalui uji t didapati pada uji regresi konvensional, membentuk t hitung = 3,754 meskipun t tabel = 2,068 bersama kualitas perolehan α=0,049 dan dk= 22,9.

Abstract

Sektor pendidikan SD di Kabupaten Bengkalis mengalami perkembangan positif, ditandai oleh pertumbuhan penduduk usia sekolah, peningkatan jumlah pengajar, dan dukungan pemerintah. Fokus penelitian di Kecamatan Rupat Utara, menyoroti kekurangan motivasi guru seperti keuletan rendah, kurangnya kesungguhan mengajar, dan presensi guru yang belum optimal. Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi diidentifikasi sebagai faktor penting yang memengaruhi motivasi kerja guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak kedua faktor tersebut terhadap motivasi kerja guru di SD Negeri Kecamatan Rupat Utara, Kabupaten Bengkalis. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain ex post facto dengan tujuan eksplorasi dan deskriptif. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan, menguji variabel kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, budaya organisasi, dan motivasi kerja guru di Kecamatan Rupat Utara dengan sampel sebanyak 97 orang guru. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan disebarkan melalui Google Form. Analisis data melibatkan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi berpengaruh secara signifikan dan positif terhadap motivasi kerja guru, dengan kontribusi sebesar 86,40%, sementara faktor lain di luar variabel tersebut memengaruhi sisanya

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to provide a detailed and in-depth description of the results obtained after the implementation of the character education program in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project at SMK Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. The study uses the CIPP model, which considers the aspects of Context, Input, Process and Product to comprehensively evaluate the program in question. This evaluation is a qualitative approach through a descriptive case study. The data needed for this assessment were collected through various methods such as interviews, field observations and analysis of related documents. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Data sources come from the principal, vice principal in charge of curriculum, vice principal in charge of student affairs, school treasurer, head of administrative staff, the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project coordination team, teachers of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project, parents of students and students. The results of the study indicate that the character education program in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project has been implemented well by SMK Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. At the context stage, the average achievement level is 93% with a good category; at the input stage, it is 82.18% with a good category; at the process stage, it is 85% with a good category; and at the results stage, it is 75% in the pretty good category. The characteristics that are strengthened in the implementation of the character education program in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project, in general, are strengthening respect between fellow students and teachers and being able to take responsibility for their role as students at SMK Negeri 2 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an English learning medium using Edpuzzle to understand language expressions in listening and speaking classes. A Research and Development (R&D) design was employed in this study, using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) as the development model. Data were collected through an online questionnaire consisting of a set of written statements for respondents to answer. Descriptive analysis was utilized as the technique for data analysis, dealing with quantitative data. Four Edpuzzle-based videos, featuring explanations and quizzes, were developed and validated by media and language experts. The validation results revealed that the video 'Invitation' achieved an average score of 4.25 (valid), the video 'Apologizing, Expressing Anger and Resolving Conflict' scored an average of 4.30 (valid), the video 'Giving Compliments and Replying to Compliments' received an average score of 3.81 (quite valid), and the 'Expressing Opinions' video garnered an average score of 3.91 (quite valid). Overall, the average score was 4.10, categorized as valid. Therefore, the Edpuzzle-based video, as a developed English learning medium, was deemed suitable and appropriate for application in listening and speaking classes in Indonesia.

Abstract

Pelestarian warisan budaya lokal merupakan aspek penting dalam menjaga identitas bangsa, terutama di Indonesia yang kaya akan tradisi dan nilai-nilai budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji persepsi guru mengenai pelatihan pelestarian budaya lokal sebagai media pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyak guru menyadari pentingnya integrasi budaya lokal dalam pembelajaran, namun mereka menghadapi kendala dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan untuk melakukannya. Pelatihan yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru tentang nilai-nilai budaya lokal diharapkan dapat memberikan strategi efektif dalam menggabungkan elemen budaya ke dalam materi ajar. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa pelatihan dapat memperkuat hubungan antara sekolah dan komunitas lokal, serta meningkatkan rasa bangga siswa terhadap warisan budaya mereka. Dengan demikian, hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan rekomendasi untuk program pelatihan yang lebih efektif dalam mendukung pelestarian budaya lokal melalui pendidikan dasar.

Abstract

This research was intended to know whether communicative activities in small group discussions can improve the students' speaking skill at the third semester Class A of the English Study Program of FKIP UNRI. The researcher was helped by a collaborator and used observation sheets and field notes as the instruments of the research. Besides, she also used speaking test to see the improvement of students' speaking skill on each cycle. The research started on September 23,2008 and ended on January 9, 2009. At the beginning of cycle 1the average score of the students' speaking skill was 48.3. At the end of cycle 1, it improved to 55.7, at the end of cycle 2 it improved to 62.6, and at the end ofcycle3itimproved to 73.4.The factors of communicative activities in small group discussions that influence the students' speaking skill are: (1) Clear objectives; (2) problem solving activities; (3) a good classroom atmosphere; (4) natural learning process (5) uncontrolled materials; (6) indirect corrections; and (7) interaction with partners or group members. Based on the finding, it was concluded that communicative activities of small group discussions can improve students' speaking skill at the third semester Class A of the English Study Program of FKIP UNRI
