Abstract

Financial inclusion is a crucial pillar in promoting sustainable economic development, particularly in rural areas and small-scale communities. In Indonesia, microfinance institutions (MFIs) play a strategic role in expanding access to financial services to groups underserved by formal banking institutions. This study aims to assess the impact of Sharia-based and conventional MFIs on increasing financial inclusion and the economic development of farmers and small businesses in East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The study employed a quantitative approach, collecting data through a survey of 120 respondents who were active MFI customers. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to measure the relationship between MFI service intensity and indicators of financial inclusion and local economic growth. The results indicate that both Sharia-based and conventional MFIs significantly influence financial inclusion. However, Sharia-based MFIs tend to contribute more to the development of sustainable financial behavior, while conventional MFIs show a direct impact on increasing business income. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening the role of MFIs in local economic development policies, particularly in promoting the welfare of farmers and MSMEs in rural areas.

Abstract

Abstract

Public debt policy plays an important role in the Indonesian economy, especially in supporting development financing and maintaining fiscal stability. This study analyzes the long-term impact of public debt on macroeconomic stability, considering indicators such as economic growth, inflation, fiscal balance, exchange rate, and interest rate. This study uses secondary data from Bank Indonesia (BI), Ministry of Finance (MoF), Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (IBPS). Fund (IMF), and the World Bank to identify the relationship between debt policy and national economic stability. The results of the analysis show that although public debt can drive economic growth if used for productive investments such as infrastructure, education, and other strategic sectors, an increase in debt that is not managed properly risks causing fiscal imbalance, inflation, and dependence on foreign financing. The econometric model used in this study shows that Indonesia's economic growth tends to decline when the debt-to-GDP ratio increases significantly. In addition, fluctuations in the rupiah exchange rate and international interest rates also affect the amount of foreign debt payments. This study recommends a more transparent debt management policy that is oriented towards productive investment, diversification of financing sources to reduce exchange rate risk, and fiscal reform to increase state revenues and reduce dependence on debt. With the right strategy, public debt can function as an instrument of sustainable development without sacrificing long-term economic stability.

Abstract

This study aims to find the Granger causality between economic growth and excise revenue. Does economic growth drive the increase in excise revenue, or vice versa, does excise revenue drive the increase in economic growth? To conduct this test, the Granger causality test is used. Observations were made from 1998 to 2018. This observation period was made considering that 1998 was the year after the economic crisis and 2018 was the last year the excise tariff policy was in effect before it became effective in 2019. Data sources were obtained from the government's state budget financial records. The results obtained are that there is no Granger causality between excise revenue (Xt) and economic growth (Yt), but on the contrary, there is a Granger causality between economic growth (Yt) and excise revenue (Xt). However, the performance of current excise revenue (Xt) is affected by the performance of excise revenue in the previous year (Xt-1), while the performance of excise revenue two years earlier (Xt-2) does not affect excise revenue this year (Xt). Similarly, economic growth in the previous year (Yt-1) also has no significant effect on this year's excise revenue (Xt).

Abstract

Learning autonomy is becoming essential in the 21st century, demanding individuals to master various fundamental skills. This article explores the self-regulated learning model as a solution to enhance student learning autonomy. A case study conducted in the music arts course at Universitas Negeri Makassar found that students' learning autonomy levels were still low, even among those considered active. Related research also confirms the low learning autonomy of students across various settings. The research methodology employed an experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection was carried out by observing student activities through a Learning Management System (LMS) before and after modifying instructional methods. Data analysis results showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with a notable increase in posttest scores. The findings indicate an improvement in student learning autonomy. Learning autonomy fosters the desire to learn and acquire new knowledge, facilitates individual ownership of learning, and enhances learning independence. The study concludes that modifying instructional methods based on the self-regulated learning model effectively improves student learning autonomy. Keywords: Learning Autonomy, Learning Models, Self-Regulation, Students, Education.
