Abstract

Uncontrolled raw material inventory can lead to either excess or shortage of stock, thereby hampering the production process. This condition is also experienced by CV. Arafah Jaya, a manufacturer of window and door frames, where frequent stockpiling of raw materials results in high inventory costs. This study aims to systematically plan raw material requirements using the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method. Demand forecasting was carried out using the Moving Average and Exponential Smoothing methods, with the evaluation showing that Exponential Smoothing produced more accurate results. The forecasting data were then used to develop the Master Production Schedule (MPS) as the basis for calculations in the MRP system. The analysis continued with the application of three lot-sizing techniques, namely Lot for Lot (LFL), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Period Order Quantity (POQ). The comparison results indicate that the LFL technique yields the lowest total procurement cost of raw materials, amounting to IDR 7,290,380. Thus, the LFL technique is considered the most efficient method for controlling raw material procurement at CV. Arafah Jaya.

Abstract

The current industrial landscape is experiencing rapid development, compelling companies to produce high-quality products that meet consumer expectations. The production activities are crucial in the execution of the production process, and smooth operations are highly anticipated by companies in general. This study aims to identify the root causes of frequent breakdowns in the simplex machine that occurred between February and April 2023. The study employs the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method to determine the root causes of issues that lead to undesirable events. The results from the Fault Tree Analysis revealed that the primary causes of simplex machine breakdowns are attributed to human factors, machine issues, and material problems. Furthermore, the findings from the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) identified the highest Risk Priority Numbers (RPN) for each component: lack of scheduled machine maintenance (RPN = 192), old machinery (RPN = 64), and waste material getting stuck in the flayer (RPN = 210).

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional deficiency and can have long-term impacts that are detrimental to health in the next life cycle. In 2021 the stunting rate in Indonesia will be 24.4 percent. The prevalence rate of stunting in each province varies so it is suspected that there are regional proximity and characteristics that contribute to the prevalence of stunting. This research aims to predict stunting by considering regional proximity in Indonesia. The research design is cross-sectional. The analysis used is spatial Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) to predict stunting risk factors by considering regional proximity in the analysis. Research data uses secondary data from the 2021 Indonesian Nutrition Status Study (SSGI). The observation units are 34 provinces in Indonesia. GWR analysis uses Kernel Fixed Gaussian weights (smallest AIC value). The results of the analysis found that the GWR model is better used to model the determinant factors of toddler stunting in Indonesia compared to the OLS/linear regression model. Four predictor variables influence stunting, namely the proportion of the population who have JKN/Jamkesda, the proportion of sick toddlers who undergo examination/treatment at health service facilities, the proportion of toddlers with low birth weight categories, and the proportion of toddlers who experience diarrhea.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out at the Azalea Sector GDC, Cilodong sub-district, Depok City. The partners of this activity are micro and small businesses. MSME actors generally only keep simple records in the form of income and expenses. There are even those who do not record operating expenses, so that the business is seen to be generating large profits because expenses are not recorded properly. The result is that the records do not reflect the actual financial condition of the business. The problem faced by partners is that there is no training on increasing knowledge and management of SMEs seen from the marketing and financial aspects of their business directly. The solution needed for this problem is the provision of training for MSMEs in terms of managing finances using accounting and financial management. The output of this solution is the partner's ability to easily use accounting to improve the financial performance of their business. The output of this solution is in the form of partner knowledge about good and correct business financial management

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to examine the mediating role of value creation innovation in the relationship between organizational performance and the independent variables digital transformation and strategic agility. This study employs a quantitative research method with a nonprobability sampling approach and purposive sampling technique, targeting first-level and middle-level managers as the unit of analysis. The final sample consists of 156 respondents with data collected cross-sectionally. The collected data were analyzed using SmartPLS version 4. The results indicate that value creation innovation plays a full mediating role in the relationship between digital transformation and strategic agility on organizational performance, as the estimated mediation effect is greater than the direct effect. Theoretical implications of this research highlight that incorporating value creation innovation as a mediating variable strengthens the impact of digital transformation and strategic agility on organizational performance. The limitations of this study are that the respondents are only companies in bonded zones whose numbers are limited, with variables and research methods that are still limited. Future research should consider expanding the sample to include companies beyond bonded zones, integrating additional exogenous variables into the research model, and employing qualitative or mixed methods approaches to gain deeper insights.

Abstract

This research investigates carbon footprint optimisation strategies in the nickel-based industrial development at Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), focusing on sustainable supply chain management practices. The study employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative analysis of carbon emissions data with qualitative assessment of supply chain processes. Through comprehensive data collection from 2019-2024 and analysis of multiple operational parameters, the research identified key optimisation opportunities across mining operations, processing plants, and transportation networks. Results indicate that implementing targeted optimisation strategies across the supply chain could reduce carbon emissions by 15-20% while maintaining production efficiency. Specific interventions, including waste heat recovery systems, fleet electrification, and smart logistics integration, demonstrated significant impact with potential annual savings of 87,500 tCO2e and $11.2 million in operational costs. The study also revealed that integrating sustainable practices led to an 18% improvement in production efficiency and a 12% enhancement in resource recovery rates. The findings contribute to the growing knowledge of sustainable industrial development in the mining and metallurgical sectors, offering practical insights for similar industrial parks globally. This research provides valuable frameworks for balancing environmental sustainability with industrial growth in emerging economies.

Abstract

Chinese culture plays an important role in shaping the dynamics of family businesses in Indonesia, especially in the context of increasingly intense business competition. This study aims to address gaps in understanding the influence of Chinese culture, including guanxi culture, Confucian inheritance, and the succession process, as well as strategic orientation, namely entrepreneurial orientation and market orientation, on firm performance, with competitive advantage as a mediating variable. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a data analysis approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Data were collected through surveys distributed to 232 Chinese family businesses in Bekasi and DKI Jakarta. The sample was selected using a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling approach, where companies were chosen based on certain criteria, such as family structure, years of operation, and family member involvement in management. The data collection instrument consisted of structured questionnaires containing questions about corporate culture, strategic orientation, competitive advantage, and firm performance. The results of the study show that competitive advantage significantly mediates the influence of the succession process, entrepreneurial orientation, and market orientation on firm performance. However, guanxi culture and Confucian inheritance do not show a significant influence on firm performance, either directly or through competitive advantage. These findings contribute theoretically with five novel models related to the relationship between Chinese culture, strategic orientation, and firm performance in Indonesia. The implications of this study suggest that Chinese family businesses need to focus more on innovation, market adaptability, and succession management to maintain competitiveness and enhance business performance, while traditional values such as guanxi and Confucianism may require further adaptation to remain relevant in the modern business context.
