Abstract

Digital innovation has become a key driver in transforming public services, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. Governments worldwide, including Indonesia, have increasingly adopted digital platforms to streamline administrative processes and improve service delivery. This study examines the implementation of digital platforms in South Sulawesi’s public services, identifying their benefits and challenges while exploring solutions for sustainable digital governance. A qualitative case study approach was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, document analysis, and field observations. Participants included government officials, IT developers, and end-users such as citizens and service providers. The study analyzed various digital platforms used for administrative services, tax payments, and public complaints management, highlighting both successes and limitations. The findings indicate that digital platforms have significantly improved administrative efficiency and citizen engagement by reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks and increasing service transparency. However, challenges persist, particularly the digital divide, where limited infrastructure and digital literacy hinder adoption, especially in rural areas. System integration issues were also observed, as some platforms lack interoperability with government databases, leading to inefficiencies. Additionally, cybersecurity concerns remain a major risk, with inadequate data protection exposing sensitive citizen information. To ensure the sustainability of digital governance, this study highlights the importance of capacity-building programs, infrastructure development, and regulatory frameworks. Strengthening public-private partnerships and integrating citizen feedback mechanisms are also critical for optimizing digital service delivery. Ultimately, a strategic, inclusive, and well-integrated approach is necessary to maximize digital platform benefits and drive long-term improvements in public service governance.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of humorous speech acts in the Barakatak column of Manglé magazine as a reflection of pragmatic communication within the Sundanese cultural context. Humor in local, regionally-based media plays a vital role in conveying social criticism and preserving the existence of indigenous languages. However, linguistic research on local humor—especially from a pragmatic perspective—remains notably limited. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach. The data consist of humorous texts extracted from the Barakatak column in the September–October editions. Various types of speech acts were identified, including locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary acts. Furthermore, each entry was found to contain humor functions such as commissive, impositive, expressive, and assertive functions. Lastly, numerous forms of sociocultural criticism were discovered, illustrating the embodiment of local wisdom in Sundanese culture. The analysis of eleven Barakatak entries revealed key patterns in speech acts, humor functions, and cultural context. These findings indicate that the humor presented in Barakatak serves not merely as entertainment, but also as an effective and nuanced form of cultural communication for articulating social criticism within the Sundanese community.

Abstract

Background: Flexibility is a critical component of archery performance, where biomechanical demands such as postural stabilization and bow draw-release mechanics require optimal posterior chain mobility. This study aimed to evaluate a 12-week tailored flexibility program in improving posterior chain mobility in elite archers with flexibility deficits. Methods: This pretest-posttest pre-experimental study involved 30 elite archers (15 males, 15 females; ages 17–43 years) with baseline sit-and-reach deficits (≤25 cm). A 12-week intervention program combined dynamic-progressive stretching, myofascial release, and mobility training based on archery biomechanical profiles. Flexibility was measured using the sit-and-reach test at weeks 0 (pretest), 6 (midtest), and 12 (posttest). Statistical analyses included tests for normality of Shapiro-Wilk, homogeneity of Levene's test, repeated measures ANOVA, and Bonferroni’s post-hoc. Results: There was a significant increase in sit-and-reach scores from pretest (13.2 ± 4.1 cm) to midtest (18.9 ± 4.7 cm; p< 0.001; d = 1.32) and posttest (22.6 ± 5.3 cm; p< 0.001; d= 2.01), with a large effect size (η² = 0.632). Homogeneous responses were observed across age and body mass index subgroups, indicating the adaptability of the personalized protocol. There was no significant difference between genders (p>0.05). Conclusion: A 12-week sport-specific flexibility intervention effectively improved posterior chain mobility in elite archers. These findings highlighted the importance of integrating personalized programs that consider biomechanical demands and regular assessment.

Abstract

Silica gel was successfully synthesized from Gamalama volcanic soil using the sol-gel method and applied as an adsorbent to remove methyl orange (MO) dye. The synthesis process involved treating 20 grams of volcanic soil with 2 M HCl under stirring for 3 hours, followed by a 12-hour soaking period. The solid residue was subsequently filtered, dried, and reacted with 7 M NaOH for 2 hours. The resulting filtrate was neutralized through repeated washing with distilled water, and silica gel formation was achieved by titration with 2 M HCl until a final pH of approximately 3–4 was reached. The synthesized silica was evaluated for its adsorption performance against methyl orange, with optimal conditions identified at pH 4, a contact time of 5 hours, and an adsorbent dosage of 30 mg. UV-Vis analysis showed that the synthesized silica exhibited a higher adsorption capacity (6.7%) compared to raw Gamalama volcanic soil. Kinetic studies indicated that the adsorption process followed a pseudo-second-order model, suggesting chemisorption as the dominant mechanism. The rate constant (k₂) for the synthesized silica was 0.09 M⁻¹·h⁻¹, compared to 0.077 M⁻¹·h⁻¹ for the raw volcanic soil. This indicates that the synthesized silica adsorbed MO more rapidly, likely due to its higher purity and greater availability of active sites. The slightly lower k₂ observed in raw volcanic soil might be attributed to the presence of clay minerals such as halloysite and allophane, which possess negative surface charges at neutral to alkaline pH levels, leading to electrostatic repulsion with the negatively charged MO anions. Silica gel synthesized from Gamalama volcanic soil demonstrates promising potential as an eco-friendly adsorbent for dye removal from aqueous solutions.

Abstract

This study investigates the intertwined roles of creativity and innovation in shaping digital entrepreneurship among content creators and local start-ups in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative, exploratory case study approach, the research draws insights from in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis of five entrepreneurs operating across diverse sectors, including education, fashion, food, agriculture, and technology. The findings reveal that creativity functions as the initial driver of entrepreneurial activity, serving not only as a spark for idea generation but also as a continuous process of experimentation and adaptation to evolving consumer preferences and technological advancements. Innovation, on the other hand, emerges as an adaptive mechanism through which creative ideas are transformed into marketable products, services, and sustainable business models. Digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube act as crucial enablers, lowering entry barriers, broadening market access, and fostering collaborative ecosystems. However, the study also identifies persistent challenges, including limited managerial capacity, scarce resources, and difficulties in sustaining brand consistency. Furthermore, cultural and social dynamics are found to significantly influence entrepreneurial practices, shaping strategies for creativity, innovation, and audience engagement. By highlighting the gap between individual creativity and structured innovation management, this study emphasizes the importance of systematic approaches to ensure sustainability and scalability of digital ventures. Overall, the research contributes to the literature on digital entrepreneurship by integrating perspectives on creativity, innovation, and cultural context, offering practical implications for policymakers, educators, and ecosystem builders seeking to strengthen Indonesia’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
