Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to identify isolates that produce cellulase enzymes derived from cellulolytic bacteria from the digestive tract of termites and to determine the best type of substrate as the carrier and survival of these isolates. This research consists of 3 (three) stages. The first stage of research was the isolation of cellulolytic bacteria using descriptive data analysis. The second stage of research was to determine the best carrier for selected cellulolytic isolates, while the third stage was to determine the shelf life of the isolates with the selected substrate as the best carrier by analyzing data using analysis of variance. The results of the first phase of research obtained 3 isolates of cellulolytic bacteria from the best termite digestive tract based on the clear zone index test with isolate code VR52, VR61 and VR81 with clear zone index for each isolate 1.087; 2,250 and 1,710 mm. Based on Gram staining, the three isolates were gram-positive bacteria in the form of bacilli. Maximum enzyme activity in isolate VR61 (Bacillus sp) with its enzyme activity (19.91 µ/mL). The results of the second stage study showed that rice bran was the best sAubstrate based on total microbes with a value of 202 x 109 CFU / g. The results of the third stage research showed that the number of cellulolytic bacteria in the selected sub-extract (rice bran) at a storage temperature of 4oC (178.92 x 109 CFU / gr) was more than that of storage at 27oC (101.69 x 109 CFU / gr). This research concludes that the longer the storage time shows a decrease in the number of bacteria and pH in the sub-extract. The best interaction on rice bran sub-extract as a carrier at a storage temperature of 4oC in the second week with the number of cellulolytic bacteria 197.8 x 109 CFU / gr with a pH value of 6.46 and the fourth week of 167.85 x 109 CFU / gr with a pH value of 6.39.   Keywords: Cellulose, Cellulolytic Bacteria, Termites

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of shrimp waste processing with several combinations of processing such as soaking using husk ash water filtrate, steaming and fermentation using the Trichoderma viridae fungus, as well as to determine the optimal level and level of using processed shrimp flour to replace fish meal in broiler chicken rations. . The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design method consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment given was replacing fish meal with processed shrimp waste flour which consisted of P0 = 0% processed shrimp waste flour, P1 = 25% processed shrimp waste flour, P2 = 50% processed shrimp waste flour, P3 = 75% processed shrimp waste flour. and R4 100% processed shrimp waste flour. The data obtained were tabulated using the Microsoft Excel program, then analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), if there were differences, then the Multiple Distance Test (Duncan's). The observed variables consisted of changes in the nutritional content of shrimp waste before and after processing, feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion in broiler chickens. The results of this study indicate a decrease in the nutritional content of processed shrimp waste. The replacement of fish meal with processed shrimp waste in broiler chicken rations had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on consumption and body weight gain, but had no effect (P>0.05) on feed conversion value. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the processing of shrimp waste through several processes has not been able to improve the nutritional content of shrimp waste. The use of processed shrimp waste flour can be used up to 50% level as a substitute for fish meal in broiler chicken rations. Suggestions that can be given are the length of processing time from shrimp waste can be reduced in order to minimize factors that can damage or reduce the nutrition of shrimp waste. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui rasio efesiensi protein ransum pada ayam broiler yang diberi Lactobacillus plantarum dan Mannan oligosakarida (MOS) hasil hidrolisis bungkil inti sawit. Materi yang dipergunakan meliputi 270 ekor DOC strain MB 202 platinum. Ransum yang dipergunakan berupa ransum komersial Novo 511 non antibiotic growth promotor (non AGP). Rancangan yang digunakan ialah acak lengkap berpola faktorial 3 × 3 dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor A merupakan pemberian MOS hasil hidrolisis BIS dengan taraf yakni 0%, 0,50%, dan 1% dan faktor B merupakan pemberian Lactobacillus plantarum dengan taraf yakni 0%, 0,50%, dan 1%. Peubah yang diamati meliputi konsumsi ransum, konsumsi protein ransum, PBB serta rasio efisiensi protein. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA, nilai yang berbeda antar perlakuan diuji lanjut dengan DMRT 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penambahan Lactobacillus plantarum, MOS, dan interaksi keduanya di dalam ransum memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P kecil dari 0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, konsumsi protein ransum, PBB serta rasio efisiensi protein ransum. Kesimpulan diperoleh adalah pemberian MOS hasil hidrolisis BIS sebanyak 1% melalui kombinasi Lactobacillus plantarum sebanyak 1% dalam ransum mampu meningkatkan rasio efisiensi protein ransum ayam broiler.

Abstract

This research aims to test the effectiveness of Tricho-tithonia and Cow Biourin, as well as to obtain the best Tricho-tithonia dose and concentration of bovine biourin in inducing the growth and yield of Jambi Local Variety red chili. The research was carried out at the Faperta-Unja (Teaching and Research Farm) research garden, Mendalo Indah, Jambi Outer City District, Muaro Jambi Regency. The study used a randomized block design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor is the dose of Tricho-tithonia (T), consisting of t1 = 0 tons ha-1, t2 = 10 tons ha-1, and t3 = 20 tons ha-1. The second factor is Biourin Concentration (B), consisting of b1 = 30%, b2 = 40%, and b3 = 50%. The treatment was repeated 3 times, resulting in 27 experimental plots. The variables observed were plant height, number of productive branches, flowering age, number of fruits and fruit weight per plant. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by using the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test with a level of α=5%. The results that Application of Tricho-tithonia 10-20 tons ha-1can increase plant height, number of productive branches, number of fruits and fruit weight per plant up to almost 3 times, and can induce faster flowering. Meanwhile, spraying the plants with bovine biourin at a concentration of 30-50% had the same effect on all observed variables.Keywords: Capsicum annuum, trichocompost, liquid organic fertilizer, Sustainable agriculture

Abstract

Penangkapan menggunakan alat tangkap bubu diperlukan umpan dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil tangkapan secara optimal. Tujuan penelitian untuk mempelajari penggunaan umpan yang paling efektif digunakan nelayan untuk melakukan penangkapan lobster air tawar di Danau Maninjau Sumatera Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 1 Mei sampai dengan 21 Mei 2023 dengan metode Experimental Fishing dan perlakuan umpan TU = tanpa umpan, KM = keong mas, IN = ikan nila, KP = kerang pensi. Pada 2 nelayan menggunakan 20 alat tangkap bubu dengan pengulangan 10 kali penangkapan. Data yang dihimpun meliputi jumlah, berat, panjang serta parameter lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), jika berpengaruh nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan jenis umpan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap jumlah (ekor), berat (gr), dan panjang (cm) lobster air tawar. Hasil tangkapan lobster air tawar menggunakan tanpa umpan sebanyak 3 ekor dengan berat 58 gr, kemudian dengan umpan keong mas sebanyak 56 ekor dengan berat 1802 gr, selanjutnya menggunakan umpan bangkai ikan nila 47 ekor dengan berat 1674 gr, dan umpan kerang pensi mendapatkan 7 ekor dengan berat 242 gr. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu penggunaan umpan keong mas dengan menggunakan alat tangkap bubu akan menghasilkan tangkapan lobster air tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus) lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan umpan ikan nila dan kerang pensi.   Catching using trap gear requires bait in an effort to increase the catch optimally. The purpose of the research was to study the use of the most effective bait used by fishermen to catch crayfish in Lake Maninjau, West Sumatra. The research was conducted on May 1 to May 21, 2023 with Experimental Fishing method and bait treatment TU = without bait, KM = gold snail, IN = tilapia, KP = pensi shell. In 2 fishermen using 20 bubu fishing gear with repetition of 10 times fishing. Data collected included number, weight, length and environmental parameters. This study uses a Randomized Group Design (RAK), if it has a real effect, it is continued with the Duncan test. The results showed that different types of bait had a very significant effect (P < 0.01) on the number (tails), weight (gr), and length (cm) of crayfish. The catch of crayfish using no bait is 3 tails weighing 58 gr, then with gold snail bait as many as 56 tails weighing 1802 gr, then using tilapia carcass bait 47 tails weighing 1674 gr, and pensi shell bait gets 7 tails weighing 242 gr. The conclusion of this study is that the use of gold snail bait using bubu fishing gear will produce more crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) catches compared to tilapia bait and pensi shells.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kompetensi guru di SMA Negeri 1 Cerenti dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guru di SMA Negeri 1 Cerenti. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, yaitu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan menggambarkan kondisi nyata dari objek penelitian. Berdasarkan analisis dan pembahasan peneliti dapat menyimpulkan kompetensi profesional guru SMA Negeri 1 Cerenti sangat baik. Hal ini dapat diketahui berdasarkan prosentase rata-rata yang didapat dari hasil penelitian yaitu sebesar 94,38%, yang meliputi indikator penguasaan materi, kemampuan membuka pelajaran, kemampuan bertanya, kemampuan mengadakan variasi pembelajaran, kejelasan dan penyajian materi, kemampuan mengelola kelas dan kemampuan menutup pelajaran. Kemudian upaya kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru SMA Negeri 1 Cerenti sudah optimal. Hal ini dapat diketahui berdasarkan prosentase rata-rata yang diperoleh sebesar 85,71%. Penilaian ini dilihat dari adanya pelaksanaan supervisi pembelajaran yakni melalui observasi kelas, kunjungan kelas maupun pembinaan langsung kepada para guru. kemudian, adanya kegiatan pelatihan, pemberian kesempatan pada guru untuk aktif dalam MGMP, dan kepala sekolah juga memberikan reward bagi guru yang berprestasi.

Abstract

The aim of this activity is to develop Etawah crossbreed goats (PE) in Pujiku Artomoro Bumdes, Terjun Gajah Village, Betara District. This activity is a collaboration between PUI PT Sifas Jambi University and PetroChina International Jabung Ltd in community empowerment.The main target of this activity is Bumdes Pujiku Artomoro. Activities carried out include counseling, training, building goat pens, helping goats, and developing forage. At the end of the activity, monitoring and evaluation are carried out. This empowerment activity was attended by 25 people from Bumdes Pujiko Artomoro. Counseling and practical activities were carried out for 2 days with resource persons from the Jambi University PUI team, the Plantation and Livestock Service, and PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. The construction of the goat pen was carried out in one of the Bumdes members' houses, with an area of 72 m2. To provide forage, 4000 elephant grass seeds were planted. To accelerate the development of goat livestock, 35 goats (32 females and 3 males) are provided. The results of monitoring and evaluating activities show that Bumdes members have a good perception of the activities carried out and are in line with the direction of Bumdes development. The conclusion from this activity is that the empowerment is going according to plan, and Bumdes members have implemented the goat-raising system well.

Abstract

This environmentally friendly school development activity is a collaboration between PUI PT Sifas (Sustainable Integrated Farming System) Universitas Jambi, with PetroChina International Jabung Ltd, and related East Tanjung Jabung Regency agencies. This activity aims to optimize the processing of livestock waste to support environmentally friendly agriculture with a zero-waste concept.  However, the obstacles faced in waste processing are that the biogas installation needs to be fixed, there are no results of compost and biourine nutrient analysis yet, the compost does not have a registered trademark. It is hoped that the group will become a training and demonstration center for environmentally friendly agriculture. This community service activities used the PAR (Participatory Action Research) approach, namely service activities that involve active community participation, starting with coordination, training, creating environmentally friendly schools, product improvement and implementation. This activity included counselling, training and building environmentally friendly schools. All activities included optimizing compost, biogas and biourine processing equipment, carrying out nutrient analysis of compost and biourine, and applying compost and biourine to plants. The extension was attended by 40 participants consisting of 35 members of farmer groups, 5 extension workers and representatives from the Department of Agriculture. Activities to improve biourine installations, compost processing, application of compost and biourine to plants. Applying compost and biourin can increase kale production by 26%, ginger by 16%, long beans by 12%, and eggplant by 14%. Local resources and adequate human resources support the development of an environmentally friendly school in Kota Baru village. Conclusion: SRL activities can have a social impact by growing participants' interest in applying compost and biourine to agricultural businesses, increasing production, reducing environmental impacts.

Abstract

Kelurahan mendahara ilir merupakan salah satu kelurahan yang terletak di Kabupaten tanjung Jabung Timur Provinsi Jambi yang mayoritas masyrakatnya berprofesi sebagai nelayan, namum masyarakat nelayan belum mengetahui seberapa besar tingkat keramah lingkungan alat tangkap yang mereka gunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keramah lingkungan alat tangkap yang digunakan nelayan di Kelurahan Mendahara Ilir yang di lakukan pada bulan Juli–Agustus 2021. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan melakukan pengamatan dan observasi secara langsung. Adapun Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat tangkap jaring insang dasar memiliki skor 27,56, sondong memiliki skor 18,54 dan togok memiliki skor 26,66 sehingga masih dikategorikan ramah lingkungan, sedangkan alat tangkap bubu memiliki skor 32,5 dan rawai memiliki skor 28,86 sehingga dikategorikan sangat ramah lingkungan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penilaian terhadap tingkat keramah lingkungan alat tangkap menurut kriteria FAO, alat tangkap yang digunakan nelayan Kelurahan Mendahara Ilir ada 5 jenis alat tangkap yaitu sondong dengan skor 18,54, Jaring insang dasar 27,56, rawai 28,86, togok 26,66, dan bubu dengan skor 32,5. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa yang mempunyai tingkat keramahan lingkungan paling tinggi adalah bubu dan yang paling rendah adalah sondong.

Abstract

Ada enam alat tangkap yang biasa digunakan nelayan di Kecamatan Tungkal Ilir yaitu sondong, jaring insang (gill net), togok, trawl, rawai dan bubu, dengan hasil tangkapan yang beranekaragam. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman hasil tangkapan menggunakan alat tangkap Bottom gill net (jaring insang dasar) 2 inchi di Kelurahan Kampung Nelayan, Kecamatan Tungkal Ilir. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei dimana pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak sebanyak 10% dari 50 nelayan menjadi 5 orang nelayan selama 10 kali penangkapan. Data yang dihimpun meliputi total hasil tangkapan, jenis ikan, berat ikan, dan ukuran tangkapan untuk menganalisis komposisi jenis, indeks keseragaman, indeks keanekaragaman, dan indeks dominansi. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat sebanyak 9.772 ekor dengan komposisi terdiri dari 9 spesies yaitu ikan Kurau (E. tetradactylum), ikan Gulamah (Johnius trachycephalus), ikan Lomek (Harpodon nehereus), ikan Baji-baji (Grammoplites scaber), ikan Selangat (Anodontostoma selangkat), ikan Lidah (Cynoglossus lingua), ikan Biang (Setipinna breviceps), ikan Duri (Hexanematichthys sagor) dan ikan Malung (Gnathopis nystromi). Hasil tangkapan tertinggi yaitu ikan Lomek sebanyak 3.447 ekor dan hasil tangkapan terendah yaitu ikan baji-baji sebanyak 129 ekor. Indeks keseragaman bernilai 0,79, indeks keanekaragaman bernilai 1,74, dan indeks dominansi sebesar 0,23.
