Abstract

This research explores the optimization of YOLO-based computer vision algorithms for real-time recognition of Indonesian Sign Language (BISINDO) letters under diverse environmental conditions. Motivated by the communication barriers faced by the deaf and hearing communities due to limited sign language literacy, the study aims to enhance inclusivity through advanced visual detection technologies. By implementing the YOLOv5s model, the system is trained to detect and classify correct and incorrect BISINDO hand signs across 52 classes (26 correct and 26 incorrect letters), utilizing a dataset of 3,900 images augmented to 10,920 samples. Performance evaluation employs k-fold cross-validation (k=10) and confusion matrix analysis across varied lighting and background scenarios, both indoor and outdoor. The model achieves a high average precision of 0.9901 and recall of 0.9999, with robust results in indoor settings and slight degradation observed under certain outdoor conditions. These findings demonstrate the potential of YOLOv5 in facilitating real-time, accurate sign language recognition, contributing toward more accessible human-computer interaction systems for the deaf community.

Abstract

Sistem pengaduan publik di lembaga pemerintah daerah sering menghadapi tantangan seperti laporan yang tidak valid, proses verifikasi manual yang lambat, dan ketiadaan integrasi lokasi pelapor. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, studi ini mengembangkan sistem informasi pengaduan publik berbasis web untuk Kantor PUPR Kota Baubau dengan menerapkan mekanisme validasi otomatis menggunakan metadata EXIF yang tertanam dalam foto pengaduan. Sistem ini dikembangkan menggunakan pendekatan Waterfall yang memungkinkan proses perancangan berjalan terstruktur dan terdokumentasi dengan baik. Fitur utamanya mencakup validasi otomatis lokasi dan waktu pengambilan foto, penolakan laporan tidak valid, deteksi format dan ukuran file, serta antarmuka responsif tanpa kebutuhan login. Setiap pengaduan yang berhasil dikirimkan juga akan otomatis masuk ke email petugas terkait untuk mempercepat tindak lanjut. Hasil pengujian fungsional menggunakan metode black box menunjukkan seluruh fitur berjalan sesuai spesifikasi, sementara uji beta menghasilkan skor rata-rata 3,43 dan indeks kepuasan sebesar 85,75% yang tergolong Sangat Baik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu menyaring laporan tidak relevan, mempercepat verifikasi, meningkatkan keakuratan data, serta mendukung akses publik melalui perangkat seluler dan desktop.

Abstract

The complexity of the motifs and large number of different patterns make the classification of Toraja carvings challenging. The objective of this study is to develop a Convolutional Neural Network automatic classification model using a comparative analysis of the performance of three ResNet architectures. Data augmentation techniques were used to enrich the diversity of the training samples and improve the robustness of the model. The experimental results showed that ResNet101V2 had the highest validation accuracy, which was greater than 97%, followed by ResNet50V2 with more than 96%, and finally, ResNet152V2 with more than 94.74%. These test results indicate that the ResNet101V2 architecture has a better classification performance for complex motifs, with a good balance between precision and recall. However, the confusion matrix and per-class performance metrics indicated that motifs with high similarity, such as Paqdon-Bolu and Paqtedong, remained challenging. This study demonstrated that deeper CNN architectures and data augmentation techniques are effective in improving the classification accuracy of complex carving patterns. Further research should explore hybrid or advanced augmentation methods to improve the overall robustness and accuracy of the model.

Abstract

Sign language recognition plays a critical role in promoting inclusive education, particularly for deaf children in Indonesia. However, many existing systems struggle with real-time performance and sensitivity to lighting variations, limiting their applicability in real-world settings. This study addresses these issues by optimizing a BISINDO (Bahasa Isyarat Indonesia) alphabet recognition system using the SSD MobileNetV2 architecture, enhanced with gamma correction as a luminance normalization technique. The research contribution is the integration of gamma correction preprocessing with SSD MobileNetV2, tailored for BISINDO and implemented on a low-cost assistive robot platform. This approach aims to improve robustness under diverse lighting conditions while maintaining real-time capability without the use of specialized sensors or wearables. The proposed method involves data collection, image augmentation, gamma correction (γ = 1.2, 1.5, and 2.0), and training using the SSD MobileNetV2 FPNLite 320x320 model. The dataset consists of 1,820 original images expanded to 5,096 via augmentation, with 26 BISINDO alphabet classes. The system was evaluated under indoor and outdoor conditions. Experimental results showed significant improvements with gamma correction. Indoor accuracy increased from 94.47% to 97.33%, precision from 91.30% to 95.23%, and recall from 97.87% to 99.57%. Outdoor accuracy improved from 93.80% to 97.30%, with precision rising from 90.33% to 94.73%, and recall reaching 100%. In conclusion, the proposed system offers a reliable, real-time solution for BISINDO recognition in low-resource educational environments. Future work includes the recognition of two-handed gestures and integration with natural language processing for enhanced contextual understanding.

Abstract

Produktivitas peternakan ayam memiliki peran penting dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan protein hewani masyarakat. Namun, peternak sering menghadapi tantangan seperti penyakit ternak, fluktuasi harga pakan, dan biaya operasional yang tinggi. Penggunaan probiotik sebagai suplemen pakan telah terbukti dapat meningkatkan kesehatan dan produktivitas ayam dengan memperbaiki keseimbangan mikroba usus, meningkatkan efisiensi konversi pakan, serta memperkuat sistem imun. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menyelenggarakan pelatihan kepada peternak ayam di Desa Balongbendo Sidoarjo, mengenai pembuatan dan penerapan probiotik berbasis bahan lokal yang murah dan mudah didapatkan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, demonstrasi, praktik pembuatan probiotik, serta monitoring dan evaluasi penerapannya dalam budidaya ayam. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peternak dalam membuat dan menggunakan probiotik, serta adanya dampak positif terhadap kesehatan dan pertumbuhan ayam. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi produksi ternak ayam secara berkelanjutan serta mendukung ketahanan pangan dan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Chicken farming is important for fulfilling people's need for animal protein. However, farmers often face challenges such as livestock diseases, fluctuating feed prices, and high operational costs. Using probiotics as a feed supplement has been proven to improve chicken health and productivity. Probiotics do this by balancing gut microbes, increasing feed conversion efficiency, and strengthening the immune system. This service activity aims to provide Balongbendo Village chicken farmers in Sidoarjo with training on the production and application of probiotics made from cheap, locally available ingredients. The implementation method includes socialization, demonstrations, and hands-on practice making probiotics, as well as monitoring and evaluating their application in chicken farming. Results showed increased farmer understanding and skills in probiotic production and use, as well as positive impacts on chicken health and growth. This training is expected to increase the sustainable efficiency of chicken production and support the food security and economic welfare of the local community.

Abstract

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks remain a prominent threat to modern network infrastructures, particularly in Software Defined Networks (SDNs), which operate under a centralized control architecture. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Gradient Boosting and Decision Tree algorithms for identifying DDoS attacks in SDN environments. To improve model performance, we applied preprocessing and feature selection to a publicly available SDN-based DDoS dataset. The feature selection process successfully reduced the number of attributes from 23 to the 10 most influential features for classification. The models were trained and evaluated using multiple data splitting ratios: 60:40, 70:30, 80:20, and 90:10. Their performance was measured through accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and confusion matrix analysis. Experimental results showed that Gradient Boosting achieved the highest accuracy of 95.53% on a 90:10 split, with relatively low computation time. In comparison, the Decision Tree achieved a maximum accuracy of 94.26% but required more processing time. The confusion matrix for the best-performing model showed high true-positive and true-negative rates, with a low false-negative rate, indicating reliable detection capabilities. This study contributes to the ongoing research in DDoS detection by highlighting the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms in SDN environments.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil Meningkatkan Daya Saing Pengrajin Anyaman Lontara Kana Tojeng Melalui Edukasi Penggunaan Media Sosial di Desa Bontokassi di Desa Bontokassi. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi menggunakan instrumen pre-test dan post-test yang terdiri dari 10 butir pertanyaan, dengan koresponden 20 anggota pengerajin Kana Tojeng terjadi peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan. Skor rata-rata pre-test peserta berada pada angka 45,8%, sedangkan nilai post-test meningkat menjadi 75,5%, yang menunjukkan efektivitas pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif dalam mentransfer pengetahuan Penggunaan Media Sosial mitra. Memperlihatkan perbandingan yang jelas antara sebelum dan sesudah sosialisasi, yang turut memperkuat bukti pencapaian program. Di samping peningkatan kognitif, mitra juga menunjukkan perubahan Penggunaan Media Sosia untuk produk kerajinan. Secara umum, hasil kegiatan ini tidak hanya memperkuat daya saing produk lokal berbasis budaya, tetapi juga membuka peluang baru untuk ekspansi digital melalui e-commerce dan kolaborasi lebih luas di masa mendatang.

Abstract

TPA Darul Ilmi, sebuah lembaga pendidikan nonformal yang berfokus pada pengajaran Al-Qur'an untuk anak-anak, menghadapi tantangan rendahnya minat dan perhatian dalam mempelajari huruf hijaiyah. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, tim pengabdian masyarakat dari Universitas Muslim Indonesia menerapkan teknologi Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai solusi inovatif untuk membuat proses pembelajaran lebih interaktif dan menarik. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu persiapan dan perencanaan, sosialisasi dan pelatihan, implementasi, evaluasi, serta pemantauan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi AR berhasil meningkatkan minat belajar anak-anak. Mereka lebih antusias dan tertarik mempelajari huruf hijaiyah dibandingkan metode konvensional. Interaksi yang lebih dinamis dengan konten pembelajaran membantu menjaga perhatian anak-anak dan memudahkan pengajar dalam menyampaikan materi. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif dengan memperkenalkan pendekatan teknologi modern dalam mendukung pembelajaran dasar Al-Qur'an, khususnya huruf hijaiyah, di TPA Darul Ilmi.

UPT.Managemen Inovasi dan Inkubasi Bisnis (MIIB) UMI Memiliki website https://upt.miib.umi.ac.id/ Website menjadi gerbang utama bagi Tenan Inwoll dan Outwall dalam mencari informasi mengenai Kegiatan Bimtek, pelatihan pelatihan, Inkubasi Bisnis Oleh sebab itu, website harus menarik dan pentingnya melakukan pengembangan konten di dalam website, memiliki kewajiban untuk menjaga website MIIB agar tetap update setiap harinya, sehingga tidak ada satupun informasi yang tidak terpublikasikan dengan baik. “Selain itu, website yang informatif dan menarik juga menjadi poin penting dalam penilaian webometrics. Website  MIIB belum mengikuti standar penilaian webometrics sehingga belum banyak berpengaruh terhadap pemeringkatan webometrics UMI. Konten berita yang diposting pada website MIIB belum menggunakan standar SEO. Manajemen pengelolaan website MIIB masih dikelola oleh 1 orang operator. Operator yang ditugaskan tersebut belum mengetahui pengelolaan website berdasarkan standar penilaian webometric. Hal ini menyebabkan belum maksimalnya konten berita yang diposting pada website tersebut Target dalam pelaksanaaan PkM Lektor Fakultas Ilmu Komputer  UMI  sehubungan dengan bagaimana melakukan Sosialisasi Untuk Peningkatan Pemeringkatan Webomtrics dalam WEB UMI dalam UPT.Managemen Inovasi dan Inkubasi Bisnis UMI dan Memberikan Pelatihan dan Pengembangan Konten Website Bagi Pengelola

Abstract

Teachers greatly influence students' religious development, including how Islamic religious education teachers pay attention to students in educating and growing Muslim mahabbah. Mahabbah Muslim here is defined as the love of Allah and His Messenger. Islamic Religion teachers use many ways to motivate students to carry out Islam's teachings. Therefore, the researcher wants to learn more about the teacher's efforts to grow Muslim mahabbah in SMA 2 Bandung. This research aims to describe the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in cultivating Muslim mahabbah in SMA 2 Bandung. To achieve this goal, this study uses a qualitative descriptive research type. Data collection techniques are carried out through, Observation, interviews, and documentation—determination of informants using a purposive sampling technique. Furthermore, data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis and data validity techniques using data triangulation. The results of the study concluded that the efforts made by Islamic religious teachers included reading the asmaul husna routinely, tadarus and praying before starting learning, midday prayers in congregation, Duha prayers, Friday prayers, with the routine commemoration of Islamic holidays (PHBI), namely commemorating Maulid Nabi, Isro Mi'raj, Islamic New Year, Eid al-Qurban, Smartren (Ramadan boarding school), and social services.
