Abstract

This study aims to develop an Augmented Reality (AR)-based physics e-module that integrates landslide disaster mitigation within the topic of work and energy to improve students’ conceptual mastery and disaster preparedness. To support contextual learning, the study also identifies the predominant frequency (f₀), amplification factor (A0), and seismic vulnerability index (Kg) at MAN Insan Cendekia Bengkulu Tengah using the microtremor method. The development followed the 4D model Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate including needs analysis, product design, expert validation, and both limited and large-scale trials. Expert validation showed the module was highly feasible, with scores of 99% for content and 97% for media. The large-scale trial involved 45 students, namely 30 in the experimental group using the AR-based e-module and 15 in the control group using printed textbooks. Results indicated that the experimental group achieved an average N-Gain of 0.470 (moderate), with 70% of students in the moderate to high category. In contrast, the control group obtained an N-Gain of only 0.180 (low). An independent t-test showed a statistically significant improvement within the experimental group (p = 0.001) and a significant difference between groups (p = 0.000). The Chi-Square test revealed significant differences in cognitive (p = 0.000) and conative (p = 0.003) aspects, while the affective aspect remained statistically insignificant. Overall, the AR-based e-module proves to be a relevant and effective tool to strengthen students’ conceptual understanding and readiness in responding to disaster risks through contextual physics education

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the potential of yellow pumpkin peel (Cucurbita moschata) and king banana peel (Musa paradisiaca) as raw materials for bioethanol production, based on the alcohol content produced. The bioethanol production process includes hydrolysis using 5% HCl, fermentation for 7 days with adding nutrients (NPK and urea), and purification through distillation. The research results show that the combination of yellow pumpkin peel and king banana peel, adding NPK, produces the highest ethanol content of 13%. Meanwhile, the lowest content of 4% was obtained from the fermentation of the king banana peel without additional nutrients. The addition of nutrients, particularly NPK, has been proven to enhance the activity of microorganisms in natural fermentation, thereby accelerating the conversion of carbohydrates into ethanol. With the ethanol content produced, the bioethanol from this organic waste can be used practically as E5-type blended fuel without requiring any modifications to vehicle engines. This result shows that fruit peel waste can be an environmentally friendly and economical alternative for renewable energy.

Abstract

Environmental Physics concepts are very likely to be explored to facilitate the cultivation of spiritual attitudes because they are closely related to phenomena in everyday life. Visual media can help visualize environmental phenomena so that they are easier to understand. This study aims to instill spiritual values through the concept of Environmental Physics as an alternative learning that focuses on the affective domain with the help of visual media. This study involved 15 science education postgraduate students. This research used a Pre-experimental design with a Shoot Case Study. The research design includes pre-experiment, experiment, and analysis of experimental data results. In the pre-experiment stage, the concept of environmental physics and spiritual attitudes were analyzed, learning tools were prepared, and questionnaire instruments for student perceptions related to the cultivation of spiritual values were prepared. At the experimental stage, the implementation of Environmental Physics learning integrated with spiritual values was carried out. In the post-experiment stage, data analysis and interpretation were carried out to answer research problems. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that 92.15% of respondents strongly agree that learning environmental physics can instill awareness of the nature of God. Based on the results of the open-ended questionnaire, it is known that students can explain the content of spiritual values in various phenomena in the environment. In addition, students stated that visual media can facilitate the activity of instilling awareness that God is omnipotent over all the universe. Thus it can be concluded that environmental physics learning activities can instil spiritual attitudes through environmental physics content assisted by visual media. Science content, especially environmental physics, is very relevant in instilling spiritual values
