Abstract

With the advancement of time, the programs within the Chamber of Commerce and Industry need to be reconstructed to be more relevant and adaptive to digitalization challenges. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kamar Dagang dan Industri/KADIN) plays a crucial role in supporting SMEs’ growth, yet several obstacles hinder its optimization in Rokan Hulu. Issues such as weak synergy between the chamber of commerce and industry and the local government, overly idealistic policies, lack of attention to small traders, and minimal government involvement in empowering SMEs need urgent solutions. This study aims to explore how the chamber of commerce and industry program reconstruction can optimize digital marketing for SME economic growth in Rokan Hulu. Using the Complexity of Innovation Diffusion Theory as an analytical framework, this qualitative research employs literature review and phenomenological approaches. The findings suggest that strategic reconstruction through competitive selection, digital business incubation, and stakeholder collaboration can enhance SME competitiveness, ensuring sustainable regional economic growth through digital technology adoption.

Abstract

Manufacturing industries face increasing pressure to adopt green innovation to balance environmental sustainability and competitive performance, particularly in developing economies like Indonesia. This study investigates how dynamic capabilities, influenced by market dynamics and moderated by technological capabilities, green innovation performance in Indonesian manufacturing firms. The research aims to examine the relationships among these variables and their impact on sustainable outcomes. A cross-sectional, multi-informant survey was conducted with 250 manufacturing firms in Indonesia, using validated scales to measure market dynamics, dynamic capabilities, technological capabilities, and green innovation performance. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling. The findings confirm that dynamic capabilities and technological capabilities significantly enhance green innovation performance, with market dynamics acting as a strong antecedent to dynamic capabilities. However, the moderating effect of technological capabilities is weak, likely due to Indonesia’s infrastructural and regulatory constraints. This study concludes that Indonesian manufacturing firms can improve green innovation by strengthening dynamic capabilities and investing in technological infrastructure, despite local challenges. These findings offer insights for managers and policymakers to foster sustainable practices in developing economies.

Abstract

Background: As organizations play to the strength of generational diversity while working through challenges towards productivity and cohesion, generational diversity is a two-edged sword in the contemporary multigenerational workplace. Objective: This study seeks to create and validate the Generational Dynamic Convergence (GDC) construct that establishes the level of multigenerational diversity so as to diminish intergenerational friction and improve organizational performance in family-owned business in Surabaya, Indonesia. Methods: GDC encompasses four interconnected dimensions based on theories of social behavior, organizational culture, and generational identity: Environmental Perception, Innovation Implementation, Generational Inclusion, and Communication Styles. The reliability and relevance of the GDC dimensions are validated by an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) of data from 120 family-owned businesses in Surabaya, Indonesia. Results: Results indicate that GDC has the ability to bridge the generational gap, promote cooperation, and can be the solution to generational friction by harnessing the respective strengths of Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z and can, as such, serve as a catalyst in creating inclusive, adaptable, resilient, and high-performing organizational cultures. This can be avoided in future consideration as the framework can be extended to different geographical and organizational contexts, making the results and conclusions more generalisable and useful. Conclusion: This research is the first to both identify and validate the GDC construct through EFA and in doing so reveals four distinct dimensions of GDC and show that generational convergence can enhance collaboration, innovation and performance and simultaneously reduce intergenerational conflict.

Abstract

Mangroves are a type of tree that play an important role in maintaining the balance of the coastal ecosystem. The decline in mangrove area and function due to urbanization pressures requires the active involvement of the younger generation in conservation efforts, particularly through digital media. Mangrove conservation activities necessitate the involvement and knowledge of Generation Z. Communication is an aspect that can impact knowledge of mangrove conservation. However, communication delivered in the form of visual images, audio, or graphics that explain the negative impacts makes people feel compelled to participate or vice versa. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of persuasion of positive and negative information posted on the Jakarta Mangrove Community's Instagram social media account on Generation Z's understanding of the mangrove forest ecosystem in Jakarta. The method employed is a quantitative survey with data collection procedures utilizing a questionnaire. An examination of survey data for Generation Z reveals a good association between the type of Instagram social media material and environmental awareness of the mangrove ecosystem. Whereas the substance of Instagram posts providing positively or negatively packaged critical information on mangrove forests and their environmental impact has a large overall influence on Generation Z's understanding of the need for mangrove forest ecosystems. Using Instagram as a social media platform to raise awareness among Generation Z communities about the efforts that can be made to conserve mangrove forest ecosystems is an effective technique.

Abstract

This study examines pilgrimage (ziarah) to the tomb of KH. Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) as an adaptive and resilient cultural system within contemporary Indonesian Islam. Rather than treating pilgrimage solely as a religious rite or a form of religious tourism, it conceptualizes ziarah as a socio-cultural ecosystem shaped by ongoing negotiations among individual values, collective meanings, and material structures. The analytical framework integrates Schwartz’s Basic Human Values Theory and Ungar’s Cultural Resilience Theory to bridge micro- and macro-level analysis. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative multi-method approach based on secondary data analysis, including statistical data, surveys of pilgrims’ motivations, ethnographic findings, and analyses of media and community narratives. The findings indicate that pilgrims’ motivations are diverse and overlapping, driven by distinct configurations of psychological values, which are articulated into four dominant pilgrim archetypes—Ritualists, Moralists, Seekers, and Tourists—coexisting within a single pilgrimage ecosystem. The cultural resilience of the Gus Dur pilgrimage site lies in its capacity to accommodate these archetypes without compromising its spiritual core, mediated by Gus Dur’s role as a central figure with religious, political, and moral legitimacy and reinforced by the transformation of pilgrimage into a community-based socio-economic ecosystem. As a synthesis, the study proposes a Sustainable Pilgrimage Culture Model that offers theoretical and practical contributions to inclusive, value-centered, and sustainable pilgrimage governance.

Abstract

Green innovation (GI) is often perceived as unnecessary for companies, while the amount of packaging waste with the potential to pollute the environment continues to increase significantly. Without extraordinary action, this will lead to contamination of ecosystems and a threat to human health. Therefore, this research aimed to explore the role of green collaboration (GC) in enhancing innovation and improving company performance (CP), with a particular emphasis on how the synergy of innovation and collaboration serves as a dimension of entrepreneurial marketing (EM). A quantitative method was used through a survey of 120 division heads and company owners in Indonesia. Moreover, data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Model (SEM) method with Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The results showed that both green innovation and green collaboration had a positive impact on company performance. However, green collaboration did not demonstrate a statistically significant moderating effect. This suggests that companies need to consider other strategic alliances to maximize the synergy between green innovation and green collaboration. The results can serve as a guide for companies in designing effective innovation and collaboration strategies to achieve sustainability and competitive advantage. However, a key limitation is that the strategy may not be applicable in another industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between information transparency, information ambiguity, and information overload on gluten-free products, as well as the influence of social contagion on the relationship. The research method used is a survey by distributing questionnaires to consumers of gluten-free products. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant positive correlation between information transparency and information ambiguity, and a positive correlation between information ambiguity and information overload. In addition, social contagion has also been shown to moderate the relationship between these variables. These findings indicate that consumers want clear, complete, and relevant information about gluten-free products. However, they are often faced with ambiguous and excessive information, which can cause confusion and difficulty in making decisions. Social media plays an important role in disseminating information about gluten-free products, both accurate and inaccurate. This study suggests the importance of increasing information transparency, reducing ambiguity, and managing the dissemination of information through social media to increase consumer satisfaction with gluten-free products.

Abstract

Background: Collaboration has emerged as an essential capability because it helps us achieve effective collective performance  something we are now doing more often in digital and cross-functional organizations. Although the collaborative activities are becoming more intense, a variety of inconsistencies remain in terms of outcomes given the differences in shared cognition, interaction quality, and role integration between human beings and artificial intelligence (AI). This gap signifies the necessity of a holistic measurement tool that is able to quantify collaborative maturity in human–AI integrated workflows. Objectives: This paper aims to develop and validate the collaborative intelligence quotient (CIQ) scale as a supporting diagnostic construct for measuring the collaborative maturity of human–AI integrated workflows in the diverse property development and integrated township sector in Indonesia. Methods: A scale-development protocol was conducted using a purposive sample of 32 managerial practitioners in Indonesian property firms. Dimensionality, reliability, and convergent validity were examined sequentially using EFA followed by CFA. Results: The EFA suggested a four-factor structure, and the CFAs conducted for further purification led to a relatively simple measurement model with three latent dimensions (Adaptive CoLearning; Cognitive Synchronization & Fluency Interaction; Human-AI Complementary Intelligence) and nine out of eleven indicators. The final model showed adequate internal consistency and convergent validity. Conclusion: CIQ is a psychometrically reliable tool to systematically chart organizational collaborative maturity in utilizing AI for teamwork, and it could serve as an end-to-end foundation on which subsequent structural testing and capability scaling may be operationalized.
