Abstract

This research is motivated by a lack of understanding about reduplication which can be used as an activity in language. The purposes of this study are 1. To describe the form and meaning of reduplication in the May 2023 edition of the Karawang Bekasi Ekspres newspaper, the Education & Sports column. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were the May 2023 Edition of the Karawang Bekasi Ekspres newspaper. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, literature study, listening, reading and taking notes, and documentation. Researchers conducted an analysis of form and meaning reduplication in the May 2023 Edition of the Karawang Bekasi Ekspres newspaper. The tools used to collect data were laptops, mobile phones, theory books, notebooks and writing instruments. The results of the study found 22 repeated words in the May 2023 Edition of the Karawang Bekasi Express newspaper which were analyzed in full.

Abstract

This research uses speech act theory according to Prayitno (2011:41) that directive speech acts do not only function to inform something. Directive speech acts have a very important role in everyday communication and are used to achieve various goals in social interactions. The research carried out was related to the analysis of directive speech acts in the "Si Bolang" broadcast on the Edutainment Trans7 Official YouTube channel. With a total of four "Si Bolang" video views on the Trans7 Official Edutainment YouTube channel. Utilization of research results of analysis of directive speech acts in the "Si Bolang" broadcast for junior high school level Indonesian language learning as teaching material for handouts of experimental report text material. With the basic competencies and core competencies of the 2013 curriculum found in class IX odd semester. The results of this research show what forms of directive speech acts and speech act strategies are used in broadcasts. This research uses descriptive qualitative research to analyze the object of study of directive speech in the show "Si Bolang". This research uses a qualitative research approach. The results of this research focus on analyzing the form of directive speech acts and strategies for directive speech acts. The form of directive speech acts has six forms, namely, commands, invitations, advice, prohibitions, criticism and requests. Meanwhile, there are two types of directive speech act strategies, direct speech act strategies and indirect speech act strategies. The results of the analysis contained 139 data (commands), 22 data (invitations), 4 (advice), 2 data (prohibitions), 2 data (criticism) and 12 data (requests). There are two strategies for directive speech acts in the research, namely direct speech act strategies, there are 170 data, and indirect speech act strategies, there are 11 data.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore the essential role of lecturers in enhancing student motivation in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education at Faculty of Engineering Yogyakarta State University (FT UNY).Method – This study employs a qualitative approach with a focus on literature review to examine the role of lecturers in motivating students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education at FT UNY. Interviews are conducted as a complement to provide additional perspectives. The results are expected to offer in-depth insights for developing more effective teaching strategies.Findings – This study found that the role of lecturers as facilitators fostering independent learning, feedback providers, and creators of positive learning environments significantly contributes to students' learning motivation in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education at UNY. Lecturers who provide targeted feedback help students improve their learning strategies, while strong interpersonal relationships increase their confidence and engagement. Additionally, relevant academic challenges and recognition of students' achievements drive learning motivation and prepare them for the professional world. These findings highlight the importance of lecturers' multidimensional roles in supporting students' academic growth. Research Implications – This study underscores the need for institutional support in enhancing lecturers’ roles to boost student motivation. Providing professional development, integrating technology, and adopting project-based learning can improve facilitation, feedback, and engagement, ultimately strengthening student autonomy and academic success.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine efforts to optimize MIG welding technique learning through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). This study compares three platforms: Monica, Claude, and Perplexity. The results were then evaluated using expert judgment. The background to this research stems from the difficulty students face in recognizing various types of defects in welding results, which results in decreased joint quality and a poor understanding of the welding process as a whole. This study employed a comparative experimental method involving expert validators to validate the analysis results. Three images of MIG welding defects were analyzed separately by the three AI platforms, and the identification results were validated by welding experts. Based on the findings, Perplexity proved to have the highest accuracy in identifying defects, followed by Monica, while Claude performed the lowest. These findings indicate that AI integration can accelerate the identification process, simplify analysis, and make a positive contribution to welding technique learning. However, the study also revealed limitations, particularly related to the use of complex technical language and local contexts that AI has not yet fully accommodated. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of AI, specifically Perplexity, has the potential to be an effective innovation to support the welding learning process in educational settings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesungguhan anak-anak Palestina dalam menuntut ilmu dan beribadah akibat tekanan serangan dari Tentara Zionis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan aspek-aspek religius yang terdapat dalam novel Diantara Shaf Malaikat karya Muhammad B. Anggoro. Menggunakan kajian sosiologi sastra yang dibantu teori aspek-aspek religius yang dikemukakan oleh Ahmad Thontowi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif analisis dengan teknik pengumpulan data studi pustaka yang ditindaklanjuti menggunakan teknik simak baca dan catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel terdapat kelima aspek religius dalam narasi penceritaan, perilaku, dan dialog antar tokoh. Dalam aspek iman menunjukkan narasi Hanif mulai merasakan kehadiran Allah SWT. melalui hidayah. Dalam aspek Islam, menunjukkan perilaku tokoh Hanif yang tengah melaksanakan ibadah (berdoa dan salat). Aspek ihsan ditunjukkan pada perilaku terpuji Hanif ketika berinteraksi dengan tokoh lain (rajin dan bertutur kata yang baik). Aspek ilmu (belajar di pondok pesantren dan menghormati guru), serta aspek amal (mencari nafkah dan mengamalkan ilmu).

Abstract

Corrosion still remains a serious problem in the application of aluminum alloys, such as Aluminum 6061, which is one of the most widely used aluminum alloys in industries because of its high strength-to-weight ratio. However, the material degrades when exposed to aggressive environments, such as acidic, alkaline, or salty solutions, and the control of corrosion has been achieved with the use of synthetic chemical inhibitors, but the increasing concern of environmental and health risks has shifted attention to more eco-friendly alternatives. The present study aimed at evaluating the efficacy of three vegetable oils (coconut oil, palm oil, and soybean oil) as environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors for Aluminum 6061, and the alloy coupons were subjected to three different corrosive solutions (hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, and sodium chloride). A quantitative experimental procedure was employed to determine the corrosion rate through the measurement of the weight loss of aluminum coupons prior to and after the immersion, and the results showed that all three oils were able to reduce the corrosion rate when compared to the samples without any inhibitor. Among them, coconut oil gave the best protection, followed by soybean oil and palm oil, because the adsorption of the organic compounds and fatty acids in the oils onto the aluminum surface formed a thin layer that separated the metal and the corrosive environment. Consequently, the results also showed that the use of bio-based oils can be a promising alternative to synthetic corrosion inhibitors in industries that use aluminumbased materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan efektivitas model Team-Based Project (TBP) Cyberpedagogy dan TBP Konvensional dalam mengembangkan critical thinking dan kreativitas mahasiswa pada pembelajaran di Pendidikan Teknik Mesin. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan dua kelompok: kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan TBP berbasis teknologi digital (cyberpedagogy), dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan TBP konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen skala Likert yang telah divalidasi. Uji normalitas (Kolmogorov–Smirnov) dan homogenitas variansi (Levene’s test) menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil uji independent samples t-test menunjukkan nilai rata-rata critical thinking pada kelompok eksperimen sebesar 44,88 dan kontrol 43,60 (p = 0,646), sedangkan kreativitas eksperimen 42,29 dan kontrol 41,12 (p = 0,673). Seluruh nilai signifikansi 0,05, sehingga hipotesis nol diterima—tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua model pembelajaran terhadap critical thinking dan kreativitas mahasiswa. Temuan ini mendukung teori “using knowledge” dalam model Dimensi Belajar Marzano, bahwa penerapan TBP cyberpedagogy maupun konvensional sama-sama mampu mengaktifkan habits of mind di lingkungan belajar kolaboratif, selama desain proyek dan aktivitas pemecahan masalah terkelola dengan baik.

Abstract

This study aims to describe religiosity in the poetry collection Kamu Tidak Istinewa by Natasha Rizky and its recommendation as a teaching module in vocational schools. This research uses a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis method. The subject used in this research is the value of religiosity while the object is the collection of poems Kamu Tidak Istimewa by Natasha Rizky. Furthermore, the data collection techniques used are literature study and simak catat. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion and verification. The results showed that the poem ‘Temanku’ contained two data, producing aspects of human intertwining with other humans, and the attitude of religiosity to help and love each other. Whereas in the poem ‘Maha Pencuru’ there are two data, producing aspects of human connection with God, and the attitude of religiosity to worship to further instil love for God. The final result of this research is used as a teaching module for learning poetry in vocational schools.

Abstract

Kohesi termasuk ke dalam salah satu syarat keutuhan wacana. Salah satu jenis kohesi yaitu kohesi grmatikal referensi sangat banyak ditemukan dalam berbagai macam artikel. Walaupun demikian, nyatanya masih banyak terjadi kesalahan dalam penggunaan penanda referensial karena kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai jenis dan bentuk penanda kohesi grmatikal referensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan bentuk kohesi gramatikal referensi dalam rubrik opini pada media daring Kompas.id dan mediaindonesia.com. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan analisis dalam bentuk unsur kata dengan sebenarnya tanpa ada yang dilebihkan maupun dikurangi. Teknik Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik kepustakaan dan simak catat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, ditemukan 715 data penanda referensial. Referensi berdasarkan tempat acuannya hadir dalam artikel yang dianalisis, baik referensi endofora maupun eksofora. Penjelasan tersebut secara tidak langsung juga menunjukkan bahwa pola pengacuan anafora dan katafora terdapat dalam teks. Referensi berdasarkan bentuk satuan lingual juga muncul dalam bentuk referensi persona, referensi demontratif, maupun referensi komparatif. Akan tetapi, pada referensi persona, hanya hadir dalam bentuk persona pertama dan persona ketiga. Hal ini disebabkan, teks artikel merupakan teks yang menyampaikan gagasan atau opini seseorang mengenai suatu peristiwa berdasarkan pada fakta sehingga acuan yang digunakan hanya mengacu pada dirinya sendiri (persona pertama) dan pada orang yang dibicarakan (persona ketiga). Adapun untuk referensi demonstratif dan referensi komparatif, setiap jenisnya muncul dalam teks artikel yang dianalisis. Kata kunci: Kohesi Gramatikal Referensi, Media daring, Wacana

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa baik model pembelajaran mind map membantu siswa kelas VIII meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi. Penelitian ini melibatkan 68 siswa dari dua kelas berbeda yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi Eksperimental, dengan menggunakan desain NonEquivalent Control Group Design, Hasil kelompok eksperimen (menggunakan peta pikiran) dibandingkan dengan hasil kelompok kontrol (pembelajaran biasa). Pegumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan guru bahasa Indonesia, observasi pembelajaran, dan tes menulis sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Skor posttest berbeda secara signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol, yang menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen memiliki keterampilan menulis puisi yang unggul. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut terlihat bahwa kemampuan menulis puisi siswa mendapat manfaat dari model pembelajaran mind map. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa, guru didorong untuk mempertimbangkan memasukkan model ini ke dalam praktik pengajaran mereka dan mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif dan inovatif. Skor post-test memberikan bukti yang cukup, dengan skor tertinggi kelompok eksperimen adalah 95 dan skor tertinggi kelompok kontrol adalah 85. Hasil uji t signifikan, menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) harus diterima. Secara keseluruhan, skor post-test pada kelompok eksperimen yang menerapkan model pembelajaran mind map jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok benchmark. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berharga terhadap penciptaan metode yang lebih efisien dan efektif untuk mengajar siswa menulis puisi Guru dan peneliti pendidikan dapat belajar dari temuan penelitian ini untuk menciptakan model pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan meningkatkan standar pendidikan.
