Abstract

Limited understanding of 2D and 3D sketching using Autodesk Inventor Drawing, constrained by conventional teaching methods and the lack of adequate learning modules, remains a significant challenge in the manufacturing design course for Mechanical Engineering students at SMK Negeri 5 Semarang. This issue directly impacts student learning outcomes. This study aims to develop a flipbook-based e-module to improve learning achievements, with its effectiveness analyzed through t-tests and N-gain tests. The research employed the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). An experimental method was applied using a pretest-posttest control group design, involving 64 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. The results indicated that the developed e-module, including its content, media, and assessment instruments, was deemed feasible for use. Statistical analysis revealed a significant improvement in the experimental class compared to the control class, as evidenced by a t-value greater than the critical t-table value (7.664 > 1.998). Furthermore, the N-gain test showed a moderate increase in the experimental class (0.56) compared to the control class (0.32), demonstrating an enhancement in student learning outcomes. This study highlights the positive impact of integrating technology into education and emphasizes the importance of innovative teaching methods in advancing student competencies in manufacturing design.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Advanced PowerPoint-based multimedia using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and the ADDIE method. The material used in this research is workmanship signs. The objectives of this study are to: (1) test the feasibility of the developed multimedia based on Advanced PowerPoint and the Problem-Based Learning model, (2) evaluate the differences in learning outcomes between public and private vocational schools, and (3) Analyze the extent of improvement in learning outcomes among students who receive instruction using Advanced PowerPoint-based multimedia with the PBL model, compared to those who receive conventional instruction. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, and the results showed a statistically significant difference between the tested groups. Furthermore, the LSD post hoc test revealed significant differences between pairs of groups, indicating that classes using Advanced PowerPoint-based multimedia with the PBL model achieved the highest learning outcomes. In contrast, private vocational school classes showed moderate N-Gain values. In conclusion, Advanced PowerPoint-based multimedia combined with the PBL model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the topic of workmanship signs.

Abstract

Autodesk Inventor software learning in manufacturing drawing subjects in vocational schools requires the support of interactive visual-based media to make complex technical materials easier for students to understand. The weakness of conventional methods in conveying this concept requires a breakthrough through the use of modern learning technology. This study focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of using PowerPoint-based multimedia to improve students' mastery of Autodesk Inventor. The research design used the purposive sampling method with pre-test and post-test models in two groups involving 60 students in grade XI of Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 5 Semarang. The experimental group made use of interactive PowerPoint media, while the control group continued to use traditional methods. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group with a p< value of 0.05 and an N-Gain value of 0.499 much higher than the control group with only 0.148. Thus, the use of interactive PowerPoint has proven to be effective in strengthening students' understanding of assembly engineering materials in a more interesting, flexible, and appropriate way for learning needs.

Abstract

Teaching material on vernier calipers with 1/128 inch and 1/1000 inch precision in Vocational High Schools (SMK) faces numerous challenges due to technical complexity and limitations in visualizing conventional media. This research aims to quantitatively analyze the effectiveness of Audio-Visual-based learning media in enhancing student comprehension. The study employed a pretest-posttest control group design experimental method involving 30 students from the Motorcycle Engineering expertise program at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang. The participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group (using multimedia) and a control group (using conventional methods). The research instruments were validated by media and material experts, with results indicating high feasibility and reliability (CVR > 0.75, percent agreement of 95% for media and 94% for material). The results of the effectiveness test prove that the average post-test score of the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group, evidenced by an independent samples t-test (t = 7.641, p = 0.000 < 0.05). The N-Gain analysis also showed a significant difference, with the experimental group experiencing an increase in the high category (68%), while the control group only reached the Low category (27%). This demonstrates that the use of interactive visual media is effective in improving students' conceptual understanding and measurement skills. From these results, it can be concluded that PowerPoint-based audio-visual multimedia is proven to be significantly effective in improving student learning outcomes, particularly for material that is visual and complex. This finding supports the implementation of multimedia learning theory within the context of vocational education.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as a country rich in cultural diversity, including in the arts, textile crafts, and the creative economy. One of the cultural heritages that the nation is proud of is woven fabric, which is spread across various regions with their own unique characteristics. Woven fabric not only reflects the cultural identity of a region but also has great economic potential for the local community. Each region in Indonesia has its own motifs, techniques, and philosophy in making woven fabric, including in Jepara Regency, which is known as the center of Troso woven fabric. However, in facing the era of modernization and global competition, Troso woven fabric entrepreneurs need to make various efforts to increase productivity and expand the market in the current digital era. The target partner is the Berkah Karya Joint Business Group (KUB) with an address in Bringin Village, Batealit District, Jepara Regency. The service method is through socialization, training, technology application, mentoring, evaluation, and program sustainability. The training provided on the diversity of fashion products based on Troso woven fabric that are innovative, creative, contemporary, and can be used by all levels of society, from children to the elderly. In addition, an emphasis on the zero-waste approach is also conveyed to the target partners. This aims to create sustainable business products. Assistance is provided on digital promotional content creation, packaging design, and market expansion efforts. Abstract

The purpose of the research conducted to determine the effect of using PowerPoint multimedia on improving student learning outcomes in the subject of milling machine parts at SMK IPT Karangpanas. The background of this research is based on poor student learning outcomes, which are below the Graduation Threshold Value (KKM). Before conducting research, the feasibility of media and material was tested by experts with a percentage of 83% so that the material and media were suitable for use. The method used is quantitative experimental research with a two-group pre-test and post-test experimental model. Samples from two XI classes were taken randomly, with one experimental class and the other as a control class. Data were collected through questions in the form of pretest and posttest, and analysed using normality test, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis. Results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes in the experimental class compared to the control class, with a higher mean posttest score. The independent sample t-test showed significance <0.001, and the mean N-Gain of 0.4713 was classified as moderate. Thus, the use of PowerPoint multimedia was proven effective in improving students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of interactive learning multimedia based on PowerPoint in improving students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Basic SMAW Welding Techniques at SMK IPT Karangpanas, Semarang City. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design type. The participants consisted of 60 tenth-grade students majoring in welding engineering, divided into two groups: an experimental group taught using interactive PowerPoint multimedia and a control group taught through conventional methods. Learning achievement data were collected using validated and reliable pretest and posttest instruments. Data were analyzed using t-tests and Normalized Gain (N-Gain) analysis. The results revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with mean posttest scores of 80.67 and 70.53, respectively (p < 0.001). The experimental group achieved an N-Gain value of 0.5639 (high category), while the control group achieved 0.3475 (moderate category). These findings indicate that interactive learning multimedia based on PowerPoint effectively enhances students’ learning outcomes. The media proved to be a practical, low-cost, and engaging alternative that bridges the limitations of conventional learning and supports vocational education improvement.

Abstract

Learning media in the computer and internet era can help teachers and students learn better. ChatGPT is an AI system that enables conversational interaction through text, can help students understand complex subject matter and improve their learning outcomes. Because the answers are This application is very popular with students because it is well-structured and can solve problems in a short time. However, AI technology, especially Generative Pre-trained Transformer (Chat GPT), has been very important for the advancement of education. In addition, it has an impact on student creativity, originality, and their learning process. This study collected data on student perceptions of the ethics of using ChatGPT. In addition, the written work created was evaluated for its quality. It is hoped that the results of this study will improve our understanding of the possibilities and difficulties of integrating ChatGPT in education. The results of the training on understanding the ethics of using ChatGPT in writing scientific papers for students of SMA Negeri 1 Kedungwuni, Pekalongan Regency, obtained several conclusions: The training was carried out smoothly to students covering the ethical material of using ChatGPT with the quality of creating appropriate prompts and an understanding that AI as a writing aid needs to evaluate the output AI provides. Abstract

This research aims to examine how the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach impacts students’ learning outcomes in technical drawing, specifically in constructing hexagons at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang. Technical drawing is a fundamental competency in vocational education that requires precision, conceptual understanding, and psychomotor skills. However, conventional learning methods often limit student engagement and hinder the development of these competencies. Therefore, an innovative instructional approach is needed to improve learning effectiveness. This study utilized a quantitative experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. It inculed two classes: the experimental group, which received instruction through the PjBL model, taught via conventional methods. Data were collected through psychomotor performance test, which were assessed using a validate rubric. The instruments were tested for validity using Aiken's V, Content Validity Index (CVI), and reliability using Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Data analysis included normality, homogeneity, and independent samples t-tests. The finding indicated that the two groups started with similar initial abilities, as confirmed by the pretest t-test (Sig. = 0,842 > 0,05). Following the intervention, the posttest t-test releaved a clear significant difference between them (Sig. = 0,0001 < 0,05), with the experimental class posting a higher average score of 82,32 compared to 73,60 in the control class. From these results, it’s clear that the PjBL model proves more effective at boosting students’ psychomotor skills and comprehension in hexagon drawing. Overall, Project-Based Learning markedly enchances learning outcomes in technical drawing, making it a strong recommendation for vocational education.
