Abstract

Among the developments in Islamic thought that are widely discussed is the science of kalam or theology. The science of kalam, or theology, has evolved rapidly over time, and many figures of Islamic thought, including Harun Nasution, have emerged. The purpose of this article is to learn about Harun Nasution's thought style and theology that he built. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. The data collection technique used was descriptive library research. The results of this study indicate that Harun Nasution has three basic principles of a model of thinking in building his rational theology, namely: 1. the idea of progress; 2. coexistence between absolute-textual (qath'i) and relativifiably contextual (zhanni) areas; and 3. using a rational method of thinking. Meanwhile, Harun Nasution's foundation in the theology he built was reason and revelation. Harun Nasution's thoughts were heavily influenced by Mu'tazilah's rational theological thoughts. This is reinforced by the many writings of Harun Nasution, which discuss the thoughts of Muhammad Abduh, who is one of the Mu'tazilah figures.

Abstract

This article discusses Prof. Yusny Saby's thoughts on strategies and practices in reducing radicalism and extremism. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive exploratory method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations. Data analysis techniques include grouping information, coding emerging themes, and developing descriptive narratives to comprehensively depict the informant's views and contributions. The findings indicate that Prof. Yusny's understanding encompasses several key aspects: 1) Religious Cosmology: Prof. Yusny emphasizes human responsibility as God's stewards on earth, with Pancasila as the microcosm of religious values. 2)Terrorism and Jihad: Terrorism contradicts Islamic teachings of rahmatan lil’alamin, and jihad should include sincere efforts like seeking knowledge and upholding justice, not merely physical warfare. 3)Musyawarah and Democracy: The concept of musyawarah in Islam aligns with democratic principles, and leaders should be chosen based on expertise and understanding. 4) Public Services and Law Enforcement: Addressing terrorism in Indonesia must focus on justice in public services and law enforcement to prevent dissatisfaction that triggers radicalism. 5) Humane Approach and Ulama Certification: A humane approach and guidance involving idol figures from extremist circles, as well as ulama certification, are necessary to ensure the correct delivery of religious teachings.

Abstract

The role of the three Syekh Muda Waly students at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School is crucial in the social and religious life of the community in Aceh Singkil Regency. They are Abu Bahauddin Tawar (1927-2008), Abu Zamzami Syam (1923-2013) and Abu Baihaqi (1931-2015). Interestingly, although the three have different educational characters, they studied at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School led by Abu Syekh Muda Waly Al Khalidi (1961). Abu Sheikh Muda Al-Khalidi inherited religious knowledge such as fiqh monotheism of Sufism and the sanad of the Naqsabandiyah Khalidiah order. Through an actor-network theory (ANT) approach, this research attempts to map the process of forming student and teacher relationships between the three ulama and Syekh Muda Waly. The results of this research show. (1) The relationship between teacher and student is formed through scientific networks and tarekat sanad. (2) This relationship also impacts learning in the three Islamic boarding schools, which have the same curriculum structure and emphasize understanding fiqh, monotheism, Sufism, da'wah science, and tool science. (3) Such relations also make Darussalam the axis for scientific institutions in the three Islamic boarding schools. It is common for several students who have completed tsanawiyah or Aliyah education at the three Islamic boarding schools to continue to deepen their knowledge at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School. This relationship shows the role of Abu Syekh Muda Waly Al-Khalidi and Islamic Boarding School Darussalam in building a scientific network within the social context of the Aceh Singkil community

Abstract

The development of an intellectually curious and morally upright next generation is one of Indonesia's stated educational objectives. The principle of "freedom of learning" empowers both educators and their pupils to shape the educational system as they see fit. Due to the current emphasis on information rather than competence in Indonesian education, the goal of independent learning is to provide an enjoyable educational experience for both students and instructors. Personal growth in accordance with Indonesian national principles is another focus of Merdeka Belajar. Does education aim to bring about change and improve the environment, as Ki Hadjar Dewantara believes it does, or is it primarily focused on fostering student growth? Starting with bettering the learning system and learning processes, promoting freedom of learning is one way to put the ideals of the nation's personality creators into practice. We think that by allowing people more freedom to study, we can all contribute to making the world a better place.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa lulusan Madrasah Aliyah dalam membaca Al-Qur’an. Padahal, pembelajaran di Madrasah Aliyah merupakan lanjutan dari strata pendidikan dasar (Ibtidaiyah) dan menengah (Tsanawiyah). Idealnya siswa Madrasah Aliyah sudah bisa membaca Al-Qur’an dan menguasai kaedah-kaedah dalam ilmu tajwid. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa kelas XI MAN 1 Banda Aceh dalam membaca bacaan gharib dalam Al-Qur’an, kesulitan yang dialami oleh siswa, serta faktor penyebabnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui proses wawancara, tes, dan observasi. Kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif evaluatif dan disajikan dalam bentuk narasi. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 50 responden yang diberi tes lisan, hanya 1 orang yang dapat membaca semua jenis bacaan gharib dengan sempurna. Bacaan imalah merupakan jenis bacaan gharib yang lebih familiar bagi siswa dan ibdal merupakan jenis bacaan yang asing. Kesulitan yang dialami siswa berupa kesulitan pada pengucapan lafadz yang benar (pada bacaan imalah dan tashil) dan sulit mendemonstrasikan isyarat bacaan (pada bacaan isymam). Faktor yang mempengaruhi siswa kesulitan membaca bacaan gharib adalah latar belakang sekolah siswa sebelumnya dimana materi bacaan gharib yang diajarkan guru hanya sebatas teori tanpa praktik. Faktor lainnya adalah tidak adanya program khusus qiraat Al-Qur’an di MAN 1 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Fokus kajian ini adalah etika berkomukasi komunitas dayah, yaitu santri kepada gurunya. Secara umum, pola komunikasi di dayah terikat dengan aturan etika dan nilai-nilai yang hidup pada masing-masing dayah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan populasi seluruh dayah di Bireun Aceh Utara dan sampel yang terpilih adalah dayah terpadu Ummul Aiman dan dayah tradisional Darul Istiqamah. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara observasi dan wawancara yang selanjutnya dianalisis dengan cara editing, reduksi, dan penyajian data. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa dalam praktiknya, saat hendak mengikuti pendidikan baik di Dayah Ummul Aiman maupun Dayah Darul Istiqamah, santri diserahkan oleh orangtuanya kepada guru  untuk dididik. Di saat menjadi bagian dari dayah, maka santri dibina  sehingga memiliki akhlak mulia, patuh, tunduk kepada guru dan tidak boleh membantah, apalagi kepada teungku atau pimpinan dayah. Dalam berinteraksi, santri dibiasakan berbicara atau menyampaikan maksudnya dengan sopan dan suara lemah lembut. Saat teungku menerangkan pelajaran atau berbicara, maka santri mendengarkan, dan pantang membantah atau menunjukkan sikap yang tidak menyenangkan gurunya. Di sinilah etika berbicara santri kepada gurunya terjalin dengan penuh kesantunan dan rasa hormat, dan takdhim kepada gurunya. Di dayah, sikap takdhim dan kepatuhan murid kepada gurunya adalah mutlak dan tidak boleh putus, artinya berlangsung seumur hidup. Sikap ketakdhiman ini ditunjukkan dalam seluruh aspek kehidupannya, baik dalam kehidupaan keagamaan, kemasyarakatan, maupun urusan personal lainnya.

Abstract

Islamic education is a process of internalizing Islamic knowledge and values ​​to students through teaching, habituation, guidance, nurturing, supervision and potential development, in order to achieve harmony and perfection in life in this world and the hereafter. The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes developing student potential with a more inclusive and creative approach. This is aimed at expanding the reach of education so that it can meet the needs of all students, including those with special needs. This curriculum also offers more flexibility in choosing learning materials that are more creative and innovative. And students as the center in curriculum development. This research uses a library research approach. For data related to literature, researchers will refer to policies and/or laws and regulations as well as books and articles related to the independent curriculum as primary sources and books and articles about Islamic education as secondary data, researchers will examine policies related to the independent curriculum using SWOT analysis to find opportunities and challenges for Islamic education in the Merdeka curriculum. Based on the discussion of the research that has been carried out, the results of this research show: Islamic education in the Merdeka curriculum is more about internalizing the values ​​of Islamic education. It is necessary to deepen the material and learning strategies related to Islamic education, so that it is more easily accepted by students. Government support is needed in socializing the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum, so that there is maximum understanding and implementation of the Merdeka curriculum, especially in the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students (P5) and the student profile of Rahmatan Lil Alamin (PPRA). Strong support and commitment is needed from various parties regarding the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum, especially the internalization of the values ​​of Islamic education.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the obstacles faced by teachers in implementing the independent curriculum in Bireuen Regency. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach. The research method employed in this study is a survey method, where information is collected from respondents using a questionnaire through Google Forms. The data collected in this study is sourced from Islamic Education teachers (PAI) at the elementary (SD/MI), junior high (SMP/MTs), and senior high (SMA/MA) levels in Bireuen Regency. The data analysis technique used in this research is a descriptive method. Based on the results of the conducted research, it was found that the obstacles faced by teachers in Bireuen Regency in the implementation of the independent curriculum include a lack of experience with independent learning, limited references, access constraints in teaching, time management, inadequate competencies (skills), mindset changes, insufficient support and training, as well as evaluation and assessment issues

Abstract

Implementing the independent curriculum in the West Aceh District madrasah certainly poses challenges for teachers and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. On one hand, the independent curriculum strongly supports the development of students' potential. Still, there are obstacles, especially in meeting the requirements as supporters of implementing this curriculum. This study examines the challenges teachers and madrasah in West Aceh face regarding implementing the new curriculum. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method, and data collection was done through observation, interviews with teachers and school principals, and individuals who could provide information on the implementation of the independent curriculum. The results of the study found that there were several challenges faced by madrasahs in the West Aceh District, including improving teacher competencies through training in teaching methods and understanding student differentiation to adapt learning to the talents and potentials of students, as well as in the field of approaches and teaching methods. Adequate facilities and infrastructure are needed to support the curriculum, and a comprehensive understanding is required for teachers approaching retirement to implement this curriculum effectively. In improving the quality of the implementation of the independent curriculum, cooperation from all parties is needed to evaluate each step in implementing this curriculum.
