Abstract

The long-standing dichotomy between religious sciences and general sciences has created a significant epistemological gap that affects the development and relevance of Islamic education in the modern era. This article aims to comprehensively analyze M. Amin Abdullah’s integrative–interconnective paradigm as an alternative approach to bridging this separation and constructing a more holistic scientific framework. Using a literature-based method, this study examines the conceptual foundation, epistemological principles, and practical implications of an integrative model that harmonizes revelation, reason, and empirical reality. The findings indicate that Amin Abdullah’s “spider web of knowledge” encourages multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary dialogue, thereby overcoming fragmentation and generating mutually reinforcing scientific insights. These results demonstrate that the integrative–interconnective paradigm is not only a theoretical framework for reconstructing contemporary Islamic epistemology but also has substantial implications for curriculum reform, learning strategies, character development, and the strengthening of religious moderation. Thus, this approach provides a significant contribution to shaping Islamic education that is more responsive, adaptive, and relevant to the challenges of the digital age and the complexities of modern life.

Abstract

Masjid sebagai pusat peradaban Islam memiliki peran penting dalam pembinaan umat, baik dari aspek spiritual maupun pendidikan. Dalam konteks modern, keterlibatan remaja dalam kegiatan pendidikan Islam di masjid menjadi aspek krusial, terutama di tengah pengaruh globalisasi dan gaya hidup modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan eksistensi, hambatan, dan faktor penunjang remaja masjid dalam kegiatan pendidikan Islam di Masjid Oman Al-Makmur, Banda Aceh. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa remaja masjid aktif dalam kegiatan seperti pengajian dan kajian rutin, serta terlibat dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan. Tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi kesibukan pribadi dan kurangnya pengetahuan agama, namun dukungan dari masyarakat, pengurus masjid, serta fasilitas yang memadai menjadi faktor penunjang yang signifikan. Masalah seperti kurangnya pembinaan terstruktur dan pengaruh media sosial tetap menjadi perhatian. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi pengurus masjid dan organisasi remaja dalam pembinaan generasi muda. Eksistensi remaja masjid menjadi indikator penting bagi keberlanjutan fungsi edukatif masjid di masyarakat.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic educational values in the prevention and mitigation of stunting in Subulussalam City, Aceh. The urgency of this study is driven by the high stunting prevalence of 47%, which prompted the local government to conduct integrated interventions through various institutions such as the Health Office, Education Office, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Considering that Aceh is an Islamic region with a Muslim majority, a religious-based approach is seen as highly relevant in influencing community behavior. The objective of this study is to describe how Islamic educational values—worship (ibadah), faith (iman), and morals (akhlaq)—are integrated into stunting prevention programs. This research employs a qualitative case-study design using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Islamic educational values are implemented by Islamic religious teachers, religious counselors, and health workers through education, counseling, premarital guidance, and community socialization activities. These values are integrated with Qur’anic verses and hadith related to family responsibility, breastfeeding, and nutritional fulfillment. This approach enhances community knowledge, encourages behavioral change toward a healthy lifestyle, and reinforces the belief that maintaining children’s health is a religious duty. The study concludes that integrating Islamic educational values into public health programs can serve as an effective strategy for stunting prevention, especially in religious-based communities. The implication of this research suggests that policy synergy between religious institutions and health agencies can strengthen the sustainability of stunting reduction programs.

Abstract

This study aims to examine strategies for fostering independent character in children with intellectual disabilities at the Uswatun Hasanah Orphanage in Aceh. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects included the orphanage's management, caregiving teachers, and children with special needs. The findings reveal that the character development strategies involve the application of habituation, role modeling, and positive reinforcement methods. The content of character education focuses on daily religious practices, moral behavior, and physical and social skills. The assessment of character development is conducted holistically, flexibly, and contextually, involving cross-sector collaboration with government institutions and professionals. Major challenges include the diverse conditions of the children, limited family support, the constrained capacity of educators, and financial limitations. To address these issues, the orphanage implements individualized approaches, a tiered and inclusive mentoring system, cross-sector collaboration, and partnerships with private donors. This study recommends the development of adaptive, systemic, and sustainable strategies to optimally foster independence in children with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Fatima Mernissi's thoughts on gender equality and their implications for Islamic education. This study is motivated by the persistence of gender inequality in Muslim societies, which are often legitimized through patriarchal-biased religious interpretations. The study uses a qualitative method with a library study approach, with data sources consisting of Fatima Mernissi's works and relevant scientific literature. The data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical analysis techniques with a historical and sociological approach. The results show that Fatima Mernissi affirms Islam as a religion that upholds the principles of justice and gender equality and rejects the subordination of women that stems from social and political constructions. Mernissi uses a critical approach to religious texts, particularly misogynistic hadiths, by placing them in a historical and sociological context. From the perspective of Islamic education, Mernissi's thoughts position education as the primary means of empowering women and establishing just gender relations. The conclusion of the study confirms that gender equality in Islamic education is in line with the basic values ​​of Islamic teachings and needs to be realized through a contextual rereading of religious texts with a justice perspective.

Abstract

The story of animals in the Qur'an is one of the signs of Allah's majesty that has an important role in history. One of them is the story of Prophet Sulaiman and the ants whose story is contained in Surah An-Naml. in Surah An-Naml verses 17-19 and the dialog of the Prophet Sulaiman with Hud-hud bird in Surah An-Naml verses 20-28 are rich in meaning and wisdom that can be learned from the good side. learned from the good side. Based on the study of the verse can be taken wisdom and lessons that can be used as a learning media to conclude the educational values that are as a learning media to infer the educational values contained in it. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hadits Nabi yang membahas pentingnya memilih teman yang baik serta pengaruh teman terhadap pergaulan dalam perspektif Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Data diperoleh melalui aplikasi Hadits Soft, jurnal ilmiah, buku, serta literatur keislaman lainnya yang relevan. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menelaah keabsahan hadits, makna yang dikandungnya, serta relevansinya dalam konteks kehidupan sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh perawi hadits yang dikaji tergolong tsiqah, dengan jalur periwayatan yang bersambung (muttasil) dan tidak mengandung cacat (illat) maupun prnyimpangan (syadz), sehingga hadits tersebut dinyatakan shahih secara sanad dan matan. Hadits ini menegaskan bahwa lingkungan pergaulan dan teman dekat memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kepribadian dan akhlak seseorang. Berteman dengan individu yang berakhlak baik dapat memberikan pengaruh positif secara langsung maupun tidak langsung, sementara bergaul dengan orang yang buruk akhlaknya cenderung membawa pengaruh negatif. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan kajian keislaman terkait peran pertemanan dalam pembentukan karakter dan keimanan seseorang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemikiran Mohammad Abid al-Jabiri tentang dekonstruksi pemikiran dalam konteks kritik terhadap nalar Arab-Islam. Al-Jabiri dikenal sebagai salah satu pemikir kontemporer Arab yang berupaya membongkar struktur epistemologis peradaban Islam melalui proyek besar Naqd al-‘Aql al-‘Arabi (Kritik Nalar Arab). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kajian pustaka (library research), yang berfokus pada sumber-sumber sekunder berupa buku, artikel ilmiah, dan penelitian akademik yang membahas serta menafsirkan pemikiran al-Jabiri. Melalui pendekatan hermeneutik-filosofis, kajian ini berupaya merekonstruksi gagasan dekonstruktif al-Jabiri sebagaimana direpresentasikan dalam wacana akademik kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dekonstruksi pemikiran versi al-Jabiri tidak dimaksudkan sebagai pembongkaran destruktif terhadap tradisi intelektual Islam, melainkan sebagai upaya kritis untuk menata ulang rasionalitas Arab-Islam agar lebih produktif dan kontekstual dengan modernitas. Konsep dekonstruksi ini berporos pada distingsi antara tiga bentuk nalar—‘aql bayani, ‘aql irfani, dan ‘aql burhani—yang digunakan al-Jabiri untuk mengidentifikasi struktur berpikir dalam sejarah peradaban Arab-Islam. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pembacaan hermeneutik terhadap warisan intelektual Islam melalui kacamata pemikiran al-Jabiri, agar tradisi Islam tetap dinamis dan relevan dalam menghadapi tantangan zaman.

Abstract

One of the legacies of Islamic civilization in India was the Mughal dynasty that had encouraged the new revival of the old and almost drowned civilization. With the presence of this dynasty, the glory of India with Hindus civilization reappeared. Recorded in the history of Islam, the dynasty was established in the middle period. After the mid-over, there appeared three great kingdoms to rebuild the progress of Muslims. Among the major kingdoms were royal Mughal. The third crown can already be categorized as a superpower in those days, because the greatness of the kingdom had been able to organize the economic, political as well as military.. Islamic education at this time gained considerable attention. For this purpose, the royal Mughal made the mosque as a place of worship other than as a place of religious learning for the community. The mosque indeed had been provided with scholars who gave various lessons of religious knowledge. In fact, the mosques had also been completed with special rooms for students who wanted to stay for their education. Therefore, almost every mosque developed certain religious sciences with special teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Wordwall media in the subject of Islamic Cultural History, find out the activities of teachers and students, and analyze the increase in motivation and learning outcomes of students in class V of MIN 20 Aceh Besar after the application of the media. The research method used is Kemmis and McTaggart model Class Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles. The subject of the study is a student of class V MIN 20 Aceh Besar for the 2024/2025 school year. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The data obtained was analyzed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques, through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the use of Wordwall media can increase student motivation and learning outcomes in SKI subjects. The increase can be seen from the activities of teachers and students who are increasingly active in each cycle, the student learning motivation score that has increased significantly, and the completeness of learning outcomes that have increased from cycle I to cycle II. Thus, Wordwall media has proven to be effective as an interactive learning medium that is able to create a fun learning atmosphere, increase student participation, and improve SKI learning outcomes in class V MIN 20 Aceh Besar.
