Abstract

Organic red rice has higher nutritional value compared to white rice and is increasingly favored as public awareness of healthy lifestyles grows. Kalianget Village in Situbondo is one of the regions producing organic red rice, managed by the Setia Budi Farmer Group. However, the marketing of these products is still limited due to a lack of innovation insufficient branding skills, and e-commerce utilization. This community service activity aims to provide training and assistance in revitalizing derivative products of organic red rice, namely cereal and cookies made from rice bran, while also enhancing the group's capabilities in branding and digital marketing. The program involved 20 members of the farmer group, 3 lecturers, and 4 students from the University of Jember. The stages of the activity included socialization, product-making training, branding and marketing training, packaging design assistance, and e-commerce implementation. The results showed an improvement in participants' skills in product diversification and digital marketing strategies. This training has generated promising business prospects for the group and is expected to enhance the competitiveness of their products in broader markets.

Abstract

Tanaman padi yang menghasilkan beras merupakan komoditas utama di Kecamatan Ledokombo. Kendala yang dihadapi petani dalam budidaya termasuk cekaman abiotik berupa angin kencang pada musim penghujan. Hal ini mengakibatkan tanaman padi lokal dengan postur tinggi rentan mengalami rebah. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, diperlukan pelatihan terkait penggunaan zat pengatur tumbuh guna mengendalikan pertumbuhan tanaman yang tinggi. Paclobutrazol (PBZ), sebagai salah satu jenis zat pengatur tumbuh, berperan penting dalam mengurangi tinggi tanaman. Pelatihan dilakukan langsung di lahan petani dengan menggunakan lima varietas padi yang berbeda. Hasil aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa padi yang ditanam oleh petani menjadi lebih pendek dibandingkan yang tidak diberi perlakuan serupa.

Abstract

A major limiting factor for rice production in the tropics is the decline in seed quality due to storage duration and environmental conditions. Rice seeds are often stored for extended periods, making seed expiration unavoidable. Expired seeds frequently undergo quality deterioration. Therefore, an effective approach is needed to mitigate quality decline and sustain rice production. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of different matriconditioning techniques and various concentrations of onion peel waste-derived plant growth regulators (PGRs) in maintaining seed viability and rice yield. The research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CDR) with a two-factor experimental setup and three replicates. The first factor was the matriconditioning medium, consisting of three levels: M1 (soil), M2 (soil + husk charcoal), and M3 (soil + husk ash). The second factor was the concentration of onion peel waste-derived PGR, consisting of four levels: K1 (0% – water), K2 (25% – 250 mL onion peel waste PGR per 1000 mL), K3 (50% – 500 mL onion peel waste PGR per 1000 mL), and K4 (75% – 750 ml onion peel waste PGR per 1000 mL). The results showed that matriconditioning with soil and husk charcoal, along with 25% onion peel waste-derived PGR, enhanced rice seed viability. Additionally, a 75% concentration of onion peel waste PGR significantly influenced the weight of 1000 grains and the total harvested grain weight.

Abstract

Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) penting untuk melindungi siswa di bengkel pemesinan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK), termasuk melalui penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) untuk mengurangi kecelakaan. Namun, banyak siswa yang kurang mematuhi penggunaan APD karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan sikap yang kurang mendukung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan dan sikap dengan kepatuhan penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) siswa jurusan Teknik Mesin Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Surakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Pemilihan sampel penelitian menggunakan proportional random sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 338 siswa jurusan Teknik Mesin di Surakarta. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah Uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan pengetahuan dengan kepatuhan penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) siswa jurusan Teknik Mesin Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Surakarta (p-value 0,005). Sementara itu, tidak ada hubungan antara sikap dengan kepatuhan penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) siswa jurusan Teknik Mesin Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Surakarta (p-value 0,058). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah semakin baik pengetahuan yang dimiliki siswa, semakin tinggi pula kemungkinan mereka untuk mematuhi penggunaan APD. Sementara itu, sikap siswa yang baik dan kurang baik tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap kepatuhan penggunaan APD.

Abstract

Penggunaan pupuk anorganik yang masih menjadi andalan pada kegiatan budidaya jagung manis ungu, selain telah mencapai titik jenuh juga berdampak negatif terhadap kulitas tanah dan kesehatan lingkungan pertanian. Upaya mengurangi penggunaan pupuk anorganik dapat dilakukan melalui substitusi menggunakan pupuk organik, salah satunya menggunakan kasgot yang merupakan hasil biokonversi bahan organik oleh larva lalat tentara hitam. Kombinasi penggunaan pupuk anorganik dengan kasgot secara proporsional, diharapkan selain dapat memenuhi kebutuhan kesuburan kimia juga dapat memenuhi kesuburan fisik dan biologi untuk tanaman jagung manis ungu. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui proporsi pupuk anorganik dengan kasgot terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis ungu. Penelitian menggunakan pola dasar rancangan acak kelompok yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dengan 6 kali ulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa substitusi pupuk anorganik menggunakan kasgot secara pemenuhan hara layak diterapkan untuk budidaya jagung manis ungu. Substitusi menggunakan kasgot sebesar 39% cenderung meningkatkan ukuran daun, berat tongkol kupas dan kadar gula reduksi biji sedang pada 59% meningkatkan kadar antosianin biji.

Abstract

One problem of peanut cultivation is the inability of peanut seeds to be stored long-term. Prolonged storage of seed peanuts causes seed deterioration due to seeds losing reserves of food and nutrient that cause the seeds difficult to germinate. As well as other problems, namely Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium fertilization which has not been based on plant needs, fertilizer application tends to be excessive. The purpose of this study is to know the interaction and the main effect of the concentration treatment of coconut water immersion and NPK fertilization doses. This study used a factorial randomized block design with three replications. The first factor was the immersion concentration of coconut water (A) which consisted of 3 levels, namely: 0% coconut water (A1), 15% coconut water (A2), and 30% coconut water (A3) and the second factor was the dose of NPK fertilization (B) consisting of 4 levels, namely: NPK 0 g/plot (B1), NPK 22.5 g/plot (150 kg/ha) (B2), 45 g/plot (300 kg/ha) (B3), and NPK 67.5 g/plot (450 kg/ha) (B4). The results showed that (1) there was a significant interaction only on the number of primary branches with the applied treatment, 15% coconut water immersion concentration and NPK fertilization dose of 22.5 grams/plot (A2B2) (7.7 branches). (2) Concentration immersion in coconut water significantly affected the percentage of pithy pods, the percentage of empty pods, and the weight of 100 seeds, with the best treatment being the concentration of 15% coconut water immersion (A2). (3) Dose of NPK fertilization factor had a significant effect on harvesting age, percentage of empty pods, wet pod weight and productivity with the best treatment of 67.5 gram/plot NPK fertilization (B4).

Abstract

Black rice (Oryza sativa L. indica) is a pigmented rice plant that has high antioxidant content. Drought is an abiotic stress that can inhibit the growth and productivity of rice plants. Planting of local black rice with several drought treatments using PEG 6000 was observed in this study. The aim of this research is to determine the morphological and physiological response of local black rice plants in Purbalingga and Purwokerto at various levels of drought stress. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 factors. The first factor is 2 local black rice plants, namely Purbalingga and Purwokerto. The second factor was drought stress treatment via PEG 6000 with 4 treatments, namely 0% PEG (control), 5%, 10%, and 15%. The results showed that when applying 15% PEG, local black rice in Purbalingga and Purwokerto experienced a decrease in plant height and number of leaves but increased root length. Based on the physiological response, when addition 15% PEG there was a decrease in the amount of chlorophyll and an increase in the content of H2O2 and anthocyanins in both Purbalingga and Purwokerto local black rice.   Keywords: Black Rice, Drought Stress, Morphological Response, Physiological Response.

Abstract

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is a horticultural commodity which the quality and the yield can be enhanced through the application of the Dutch bucket hydroponic system, along with KH₂PO₄ fertilization and gibberellin hormone treatments. This study aimed to evaluate the response of tomato plants in terms of productivity and quality under these treatments. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using factorial randomized complete block design with three replications. The first factor was KH₂PO₄ concentration at three levels: 0 ppm, 150 ppm, and 250 ppm; the second factor was gibberellin concentration at three levels: 0 ppm, 50 ppm, and 100 ppm. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and DMRT on parameters including number of flowers, number of fruits per plant, fruit diameter, average fruit weight, total fruit weight per plant, and total soluble solids value. The results indicated that the interaction of 150 ppm KH₂PO₄ and 50 ppm gibberellin produced optimal values for fruit weight per fruit of 41.32 g, total fruit weight per plant of 398.67 g, and total soluble solids of 6.28 °Bx. Furthermore, either individual effects of KH₂PO₄ or gibberellin concentrations significantly influenced all observed variables except on fruit diameter. Combination KH2PO4 150 ppm and gibbereilin 50 ppm is recommended for enhancing tomato cultivation performance under the Dutch bucket hydroponic system.   ABSTRAK Tomat (Solanum lycopersicum L.) merupakan komoditas hortikultura yang kualitas dan produksinya dapat ditingkatkan melalui penerapan sistem hidroponik Dutch bucket disertai penggunaan pupuk KH₂PO₄ dan hormon giberelin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons tanaman tomat khususnya pada produktivitas dan kualitas terkait perlakuan tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan di dalam greenhouse menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi KH₂PO₄ dengan tiga taraf yaitu 0 ppm, 150 ppm, dan 250 ppm, faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi giberelin dengan tiga taraf yaitu 0 ppm, 50 ppm, dan 100 ppm. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan DMRT dengan variabel pengamatan meliputi jumlah bunga, jumlah buah per tanaman, diameter buah, bobot per buah, bobot buah per tanaman, dan total padatan terlarut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan interaksi antara KH₂PO₄ 150 ppm dan giberelin 50 ppm memberikan hasil terbaik pada variabel bobot per buah sebesar 41,32 g, bobot buah per tanaman sebesar 398,67 g, dan total padatan terlarut sebesar 6,28 °Bx. Selanjutnya, pengaruh faktor tunggal konsentrasi KH₂PO₄ maupun konsentrasi giberelin memberikan pengaruh pada seluruh variabel yang diamati kecuali diameter buah. Penggunaan KH2PO4 150 ppm dan giberelin 50 ppm dapat menjadi rekomendasi terbaik untuk diaplikasikan pada budidaya tomat menggunakan sistem Dutch bucket.   Kata kunci: Dutch bucket, giberelin, hidroponik, KH2PO4, tomat

Abstract

Padi merupakan komoditas pertanian utama di Kecamatan Ledokombo. Namun, dalam praktik budidayanya, petani sering menghadapi tantangan cekaman abiotik, terutama angin kencang saat musim hujan. Kondisi ini menyebabkan varietas padi lokal yang memiliki postur tinggi menjadi rentan mengalami kerebahan, yang berdampak pada penurunan hasil. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, diperlukan pelatihan penggunaan zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) sebagai upaya pengendalian pertumbuhan tanaman. Salah satu ZPT yang efektif adalah Paclobutrazol (PBZ), yang berfungsi menekan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman. Pelatihan dilaksanakan langsung di lahan pertanian dengan menggunakan lima varietas padi berbeda. Hasil aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa tanaman yang diberi PBZ tumbuh lebih pendek dibandingkan tanaman yang tidak mendapatkan perlakuan, menunjukkan potensi PBZ dalam mengurangi risiko kerebahan.

Abstract

A waste bank is a place for sorting and collecting waste that can be recycled or has economic value. The waste bank in Kraton Village functions to manage community waste. However, waste management in Kraton Village was stopped due to the Covid pandemic in 2022. The cessation of the waste bank's duties resulted in a buildup of waste at the waste bank's base camp. Therefore, efforts are needed to reactivate the Kraton Village waste bank program to realize better waste management. This effort was carried out in stages over approximately five weeks. The results of this activity began to be seen in the second stage, namely assistance from the Kraton Village waste bank. This series of activities resulted in the regeneration of the Kraton Village waste bank to be better and of maximum benefit. This is proven by the reduction in waste accumulation and waste management as a job that can become an economic field for village communities.
