Abstract

Character education in elementary schools requires effective strategies to instill moral, spiritual, and social values ​​comprehensively in students. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning based on teacher role models and its influence on student character formation at SDN 105 Baraka. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving PAI teachers in grades IV and V and a number of students selected purposively. Data collection techniques included classroom observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of learning activities. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, presentation, and verification of conclusions with source triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. The results showed that PAI teachers consistently displayed disciplined, honest, patient, and socially caring behaviors that served as real role models for students. This behavior encouraged students to imitate the teachers' positive attitudes, increasing cooperation, responsibility, social awareness, discipline, and honesty. In addition, teachers who exemplified religious practices and moral values ​​helped students internalize religious values ​​contextually, so that learning was not only theoretical but also practical. These findings demonstrate that teacher role-modeling-based learning is effective in shaping students' religious and social character and in creating a learning ecosystem that supports the sustainable development of Islamic character. This research provides implications for teachers and schools to continue strengthening daily role-modeling practices and personal interactions with students as key strategies for character development.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in shaping students' character and moral awareness, including ecological awareness and environmental stewardship. This study aims to analyze how PAI can foster ecological awareness and environmental stewardship among students at SDN 158 Mundan. The method used was descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained through lesson observations, interviews with PAI teachers, and student questionnaires. The results indicate that integrating Islamic values ​​into learning materials, such as the concept of caliphate, trust, and environmental stewardship, can increase students' awareness of the importance of environmental protection. Students demonstrate environmentally conscious behavior through simple actions such as keeping the classroom clean, planting plants, and conserving energy. Furthermore, teachers act as role models by implementing environmentally friendly behaviors in schools. These findings confirm that PAI not only teaches rituals and morals but can also shape students' ecological awareness through the instillation and instillation of Islamic values. This study recommends strengthening the PAI curriculum by integrating environmental values ​​and improving teacher training to more effectively implement environment-based learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Hajj rituals as an effort to increase knowledge of Hajj for prospective Hajj pilgrims at the Ministry of Religion Office of Enrekang Regency. This type of research is qualitative; with approach; Qualitative. Research on the disclosure of problems as they are data collection techniques using observations, interviews, and documentation, using data analysis, namely; data presentation, data reduction, and conclusion drawing (verification). By testing and analyzing the data, namely: (1) credibility (internal validity), (2) transferability (external validity), (3) dependability (reliability), and (4) confirmability (objectivity). The results of this study indicate that the Hajj ritual implementation program as an effort to increase knowledge of the Hajj is starting from registration, guidance for Hajj rituals, guidance during the implementation of the Hajj in Saudi Arabia, repatriation, to coaching and guidance after the implementation of the Hajj. The learning method of Hajj rituals as an effort to increase knowledge of the Hajj for prospective pilgrims, namely the use of methods in guiding Hajj and Umrah through Hajj rituals can be of more than one kind (varies), including the lecture method, simulation method, and question and answer method. The supporting factors are; has a supervisor who is competent and experienced in guiding pilgrims, has adequate indoor facilities, has a collaboration between the Office of the Ministry of Religion of Enrekang Regency with health workers, has a strategic location. While the inhibitors are; lack of awareness of the pilgrims on the importance of all Hajj guidance materials, lack of outdoor facilities when practicing in the field, not having an organizational branch for the implementation of Hajj ritual guidance, and the absence of additional meetings or special schedules for Hajj pilgrims who missed the meeting.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to find out whether there was any significant difference between the students who were taught through Read, Cover, Remember, Retell strategy (RCRR) and the students who were taught through Conventional Way (Collaborative Learning). This research used Quasi-Experimental Method. The population of this research was the nineth year students of SMP Negeri 2 Parepare. Total number of population was 256 students and two classes of them were taken as sample by using cluster random sampling. One class was as experimental group (IX.5) and one class was as control group (IX.7). The numbers of each class were 32 students. The instruments used were reading comprehension test. The result of this research concludes that there was any significant difference between the students between the students who were taught reading through RCRR strategy and the students who were taught reading through Conventional Way (Collaborative Learning). It is proved by the mean score of the students’ posttest in Experimental group was 85.46, while in Control group, the mean score of students’ posttest was 80.15. The result of the t-test value (3.123) was greater than t-table value (2.000). This indicated that H0 was rejected, and Hawas accepted.

Abstract

The research discussed the attitude toward English language learning. This research focuses on the attitude of learners. The term attitude consists of three components; behavioral, cognitive, and emotional aspects. The research collects the data by reviewing some kinds of literature related to attitudes for language learning. The findings of research show that the attitude of learners in language learning is varied based on condition and situation. The attitude Is mostly positive in the cognitive aspect, but negative in the behavioral aspect. The learners have good perception about the importance of language learning, but they still have negative behavior while learning language processing. Another finding is that language attitude refers to emotional attitude.

Abstract

This research is a literature study with descriptive qualitative research. Thus, this research used the Library Research Method, that research carried out using literature, either in the form of books, notes, or research reports from previous studies. In this literature study, the authors used various written sources such as articles, journals, and other relevant sources. The main source used by the author as the object of this research is an article entitled Language and Culture: research methods and approaches used in the multidisciplinary field of applied language, written by Claire Kramsch. Based on the analysis conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that culture is the inherited and innate set of ideas, attitudes, beliefs, values, and knowledge that is the general basis of social behavior.

Abstract

Various technological-based instruments and media have been used to help teachers and students achieve learning objectives, one of which is Youtube. It is an online platform that provides various videos that can be used as learning media and integrated into learning, especially English. Therefore, this research is focused on optimizing the use of youtube videos as learning media to enrich the vocabulary of the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Duapitue. The research design administered was pre-experimental with one group pretest and posttest and involved 25 students as the research samples. The research instrument employed to obtain the students' vocabulary improvement was a vocabulary test in the form of multiple choice consisting of 20 items of questions. The results of the statistical analysis revealed an obvious improvement in the student's vocabulary mastery before and after giving the treatment. This indicates that using youtube videos as learning media can increase the vocabulary of the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Duapitue.

Abstract

Language learning and teaching involves the acquisition and instruction of language skills. However, not all learners approach language learning in the same way, and individual differences play an important role in the effectiveness of the language learning and teaching process. This study aims at how to understand individual differences in language learning and teaching for educators as this allows them to adjust their instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse students.This research method is qualitative which is taking references from books or from articles that these works provide valuable insights into individual differences and their impact on language learning, The results showed that there are several Affective factors that influence individual differences in the acceptance of language learning and teaching such as Learning Styles, Cognitive Abilities, Personality Traits, Motivation and Goal Orientation, Age and Language Learning, Linguistic Background, Cultural Influences, Language Anxiety, Learning Disabilities and Special Needs, Technology and Digital Literacy, Feedback and Individualized Assessment, Implications for Classroom Practice, Case Studies as a examples and create a more effective and engaging language learning environment. By addressing individual differences, teachers can better support students in their language learning journey and promote positive learning outcomes. In addition, considering individual differences fosters a sense of inclusiveness, appreciates students' unique strengths and challenges, and encourages a student-centered approach to language teaching.

Abstract

English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is an approach to English language teaching that focuses on the specific needs of learners in professional and academic contexts. The implementation of ESP in the secondary education curriculum can provide significant advantages in preparing students for specific communication demands in the future. This article aims to explore the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of ESP in secondary education curriculum through a comprehensive literature review. The reviewed literature was selected based on the criteria of publication date, relevance, research type, and reliable source. Data were collected from various academic databases such as Scientific research, Science Direct, Wiley Online library, Google Scholar, Internet TESL Journal, Open edition journals and etc. The data analysis process involved thematic coding and synthesizing information from the selected articles. The findings show that ESP implementation faces major challenges such as a shortage of trained teachers, limited educational resources, and resistance to curriculum change. However, there are great opportunities that can be exploited, including the utilization of digital technology, international collaboration, and the integration of ESP with the national curriculum. Overcoming these challenges requires continuous teacher training programs, development of technology-based learning materials, and inclusive approaches in curriculum planning. International collaboration can also provide valuable practical experience for students and teachers. The implementation of ESP in secondary education has great potential to improve students' English competence in specific contexts. Further research is needed to develop effective teacher training programs, innovative learning materials, and adaptive curriculum implementation strategies. Abstract

Media pembelajaran visual dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah. Penggunaan media visual dalam pembelajaran dianggap sebagai bahan ajar yang ekonomis, menyenangkan, dan mudah disiapkan dan digunakan oleh guru maupun siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa pengaruhnya media pembelajaran visual pada kelas X di SMKS PAB 3 Medan khususnya oada materi negosiasi. Sumber data penelitian ini berdasarkan wawancara dengan salah satu guru yang berada di sekolah SMKS PAB 3 Medan. Data penelitian ini berupa pengisian quesioner yang diberikan oleh peneliti kepada guru yang merupakan responden. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara dengan bantuan quesioner. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan digunakannya media pembelajaran media visual ini siswa lebih aktif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, siswa juga merasa senang dengan media visual ini karena pembalajaran di kelas tidak monoton dan siswa juga dapat bertukar pemikiran sehingga menambah pemahaman mengenai materi negosiasi.
