Abstract

This study aims to: (1) identify production factors that influence copra production and (2) analyze the elasticity of copra production factors from copra-producing farmers in West Tomohon District. This research was conducted from January to April 2017. The data used were primary data obtained by survey methods through direct observation and interviews with copra farmers. Data were analyzed using Cobb-Douglas production function. The results showed that (1) factors of production of planting area, plant population, outpouring of labor, amount of equipment, and experience used by copra-producing farmers in Tomohon Barat Sub-district jointly affected copra production but separately influential production factors real and positive for copra production, namely planting area, plant population, and outpouring of labor. Based on the scale of results which show increasing return to scale indicates that farmers are still able to obtain profitable production from a number of added production factors. (2) Based on the level of elasticity of production factors that are positive and more than one. This indicates that the use of planted area production factors, plant populations, and labor has not been efficient because it has not reached maximum profit. Each addition of the production factor resulted in an increase in copra production which continued to increase, while the use of production factors the number of equipment and experience showed a negative value indicating that the use of production factors is inefficient because the production will produce less copra even though the use of production factors is more. *jnkd*.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions of the younger generation of agricultural activities in the Buha Sub-District of Mapanget District. This research was carried out from August 2017 to May 2018. Primary data was collected through interviews of 15 generations of young people with the help of filling out questionnaires. Secondary data was obtained from the Buha Village Office, Mapanget District. This analysis uses descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the perception of the younger generation of agricultural activities in the Buha Sub-District is overall negative for agricultural activities. Viewed from internal factors include education, employment, gender and age. The higher the level of education, the wider the insight of the younger generation so that the lack of interest in the younger generation in agricultural activities is getting bigger. The younger generation who already have permanent jobs in the non-agricultural sector look down on agricultural activities because they assume that agricultural activities have a low social level. Women have a low interest in agricultural activities because they assume that agricultural activities are not suitable for women because it will damage their appearance. Respondents aged 21-30 years have a low interest in agricultural activities, in addition to reduced agricultural land. External factors include socialization, parental work status and land ownership status. The younger generation with a low level of socialization results in a lack of interest in the younger generation in agricultural activities. Parents of respondents who work in agriculture or non-agriculture do not want their children to make agricultural activities the main job. The young generation whose parents still own agricultural land is still doing agricultural activities to help their parents work on their farms.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of development inequality and economic growth between districts / cities in North Sulawesi Province in 2014-2018. This research was conducted from November 2019 to March 2020. The data used in this study are secondary data. The data were obtained from the North Sulawesi Central Statistics Agency (BPS Sulut) and other literatures according to this study. The results showed that the higher income between regions would affect economic growth and inequality that occurred in North Sulawesi Province. Based on the results of the development inequality analysis, it shows low inequality with an average Williamson Index number of 0.49 (<0.5). Classification of districts / cities in North Sulawesi Province using a regional approach. Typology Klassen is divided into four classifications. Regions are developed and growing fast, regions are developed but are depressed, regions are developing fast but are not developed, and regions are relatively underdeveloped. Based on these results, this study concludes that along with the occurrence of economic growth there will also be population growth. Thus, the rate of economic growth must exceed the rate of population growth. If in the long run the economic growth equals population growth, the regional economy will not experience development and the population's level of prosperity will not progress.
