Abstract

Professional prophetic character is religious values based on prophetic traits, including aspects of Siddiq, Amanah, Fathanah, and Tabligh characteristics. Biology education students as prospective biology teachers in secondary schools have the potential to develop themselves into prophetic teachers by equipping them with professional skills in pedagogical, professional, personality and social competencies. In implementing contextual learning, students can explore their potential constructively in a professional prophetic context. This study aims to determine the increase in the professional prophetic character of students in contextually oriented Project Based Learning constructivist learning. The research was carried out in the even semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year. The subjects of this study were Semester 6 (six) students who took the Biology Development course in SMA. Learning activities carried out in the form of contextually teaching material development activities, contextual presentations, contextual discussions, doing assignments, and working together contextually. During the learning process students carry out good qualities as a manifestation of professional prophetic character which includes Shiddiq, Fathonah, Amanah, and Tabligh. The research results show an increase in professional prophetic aspects in constructivist learning contextually oriented Team Based Projects. This increase can be seen from the Shiddiq aspect which increased by 30.61%, from the Amanah aspect by 32.17%, from the Fathanah aspect by 44.92%, and from the Tabligh aspect by 24.63%. Based on this research, the researcher suggests that for constructivist learning the Project Based Learning can be integrated contextually to improve the student's professional prophetic aspects.

Abstract

One way to decompose pond waste sediment is by using the liquid nutrient culture media (NB) called Pumakkal as a starter formula. However, bioremediation in shrimp ponds has received less attention, despite being massively promoted by the government. East Lampung has produced 11.6 million m3 of liquid and 4.077 m3 of sediment waste in shrimp ponds. They are rich in organic matter, but possibly poison the pond if uncurbed. This study investigated in what manner Pumakkal decomposed shrimp pond waste under three parameters: macronutrient and micronutrient contents, and pH. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomised design (CRD) with 15 factorial arrangements. The sample was 65 kg of shrimp pond waste and 65 litres of liquid waste, which were analysed with five treatments: three of liquid waste media (LW), sediment waste (SW), and mixed liquid and sediment waste (MLS). The results showed that the treatment of the CE 15-isolate in MLS significantly improved the fertiliser quality (p<0.05). Pumakkal CE worked the finest in MLS, producing the fertiliser with the best macronutrients: Nitrogen (N) 1,3%, Phosphorus (P)2,3%, and Potassium (K) 2,3%; C-organic 23%, C/N ratio 29; micronutrient: Fe:155 ppm, Cu: 51 ppm, Zn: 72 ppm, Mn; 51 ppm, B; 25 ppm, and Mo: 8 ppm, and pH 5-6. The mixture of liquid and pond sediment waste produces the best fertiliser suitable for plant fertiliser users. The study concludes that Pumakkal is effective in decomposing harmful waste sediment to support the bioremediation program.

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) examine the differences in growth and yield of edamame soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) under varying vermiwash dosages, (2) identify the dosage that produces the best growth and yield, and (3) evaluate the feasibility of developing a Student Worksheet (LKPD) as a biology learning resource. The research employed an experimental method using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments: P1 (100 mL vermiwash), P2 (300 mL), P3 (500 mL), and P4 (700 mL), each replicated five times. Observed parameters included plant height (cm), number of leaves, and fresh weight of edamame soybeans (g). Based on the analysis test, the result Fhit>Fdaf indicates that the application of different vermiwash doses in each treatment gives different results on the growth and production of edamame soybeans. The BNJ follow-up test and Dunn's Post Hoc test show that the best growth and production of edamame soybeans is in treatment 4 (700 mL of vermiwash). The results of this study can be used as a biology learning resource on conventional biotechnology material for high school/Islamic high school Grade X in the form of a Student Worksheet, with data obtained from expert validation, showing an average material validation score of 88.57% and a design validation score of 90%.

Abstract

This research aims to test whether there is an effect of learning using video in PBL on increasing positive attitudes towards environmental management for students of SMP Negeri 1 Way Bungur. The research method uses a qualitative research approach with the research design being a one-group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Way Bungur with the research population being class VIII students. This research sample consists of one class with a total sample of 28 respondents. The instrument in this research used a positive attitude questionnaire with a scoring scale of 1-4. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of video learning in PBL on managing positive attitudes towards environmental management with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. The contribution to improving attitudes was 88.1%. The results of the study also showed that there was a positive increase in students' attitudes towards environmental management as evidenced by the overall positive gain scores.

Abstract

The aims of this study were 1) to determine the effect of time variation on preparation endurance, 2) to determine the best time variation on preparation endurance, 3) to determine whether LKPD (Student Activity Sheets) were appropriate as learning resources at school. This type of research is descriptive qualitative experimental research. This study used 4 treatments with 4 replications using a solution of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) and turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val) and 2 positive and negative controls. The positive control used a synthetic dye, namely safranin, and the negative control used no dye. Data analysis in this study was presented in the form of non-statistical qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, the durability of preparations for 0 days showed good tissue staining results, the durability of preparations for 2 days showed results of tissue staining that were still clearly visible, the durability of preparations for 3 days showed results of tissue staining that were no longer clear. The results of this study were declared "feasible" to be used as a medium for learning biology in class XI semester 1 senior high school for exploring cells.

Abstract

The developments in education can be seen from various curriculum renewals and the quality of educators. To achieve the expected learning objectives, educators are also required to be able  develop skills in making learning materials that will be used. The purpose of development research is to produce products in the form of Digital Comics by Integrating Islamic Values as Biology Learning Media in the Main Material of the Scope of Biology. Overcoming problems and meeting existing needs by being used as supporting facilities and infrastructure for the learning process and realizing national education goals. This digital comic development method uses the 4D model consisting of 4 stages, namely Define (defining), Design (design), Develop (development), and Desseminate (dissemination). Based on the results of the validation data analysis, the media aspect obtained a percentage of 85.2%, the validation results from the material aspect obtained a percentage of 90%, the validation results from the Islamic values aspect obtained a percentage of 94%, the validation results from subject teachers obtained a percentage of 91 .5%, and from the small group trial results obtained a percentage of 90.5% which includes media aspects, material aspects and Islamic values, Overall product assessment from expert validation and small group trials obtained an average of 90% with "Very Good" criteria. It was concluded that the digital comics developed were suitable to be used as a medium for learning biology with the subject matter of the Scope of Biology in schools.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan memberdayakan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT), Bank Sampah (BS), serta Sekolah Dasar dan Menengah Muhammadiyah di Kota Metro yang terdiri dari 70 perwakilan dalam pengelolaan sampah organik melalui pelatihan pertanian organik dan budidaya sederhana. Tujuan pengabdiannya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam mengolah sampah organik menjadi kompos, pupuk cair, eco-enzyme, serta menerapkan budidaya ikan dalam ember (DIBER) dan holtikultura serta cabe jawa skala rumah tangga. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan partisipatif, demonstrasi praktik, dan pendampingan intensif dengan instrumen penilaian mencakup pemahaman awal, kesiapan bahan dan alat, motivasi, analisis kendala, pengalaman terkait, ekspektasi, serta penyesuaian materi.  Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta mengenai pertanian organik (85%), pengolahan kompos (78%), dan teknik DIBER, ecoenzym, budidaya cabe dan holtikultura  (72%). Sebanyak 65% peserta telah mempraktikkan pembuatan kompos, pupuk organik cair dan eco-enzyme di rumah, sementara 70% mulai menerapkan budidaya cabe jawa,  sayuran  dan ikan secara mandiri. Dampak program meliputi pengurangan sampah organik di lingkungan sekolah dan rumah tangga, peningkatan produktivitas pertanian skala kecil, serta terbentuknya kemandirian ekonomi melalui penjualan hasil budidaya.  Kendala utama meliputi keterbatasan waktu luang (45%), bahan baku (30%) dan ruang praktik/alat dan bahan  (25%), namun solusi seperti pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga dan pendampingan berkelanjutan berhasil mengatasi tantangan tersebut. Ekspektasi peserta mencakup perluasan praktik ke komunitas lebih luas (80%) dan pendampingan teknis (60%). Indikator keberhasilan meliputi pemanfaatan 90% sampah organik, peningkatan produksi pertanian organik, dan adopsi teknologi sederhana seperti budidamber dan budidaya cabe jawa. Program ini diharapkan menjadi model pengelolaan sampah berbasis komunitas yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Metro on June 14 until September 30, 2017. Variables of research X1 (STAD and TGT), X2 (Upper and Lower Academic Abilities), Y (Biological Cognitive Learning Outcomes) Experimental Design of Factorial 2 x 2. Sample 56, STAD 28 students, TGT 28 students, was classified based on upper and lower academic ability. Sapling technique stratified random sampling. Documentation and test data collection model. Technique of data analysis of 2 path Anova as further test, previously conducted independent t test and paired t test.Result of a nalysis of research data concluded there is no difference between mean of cognitive biology learning result in group of STAD and TGT value of Sig (2-tailed) equal to 0,689 > 0,05. There is no difference between the mean of biological cognitive learning outcomes in groups of learners capable of upper and lower Sig (2- tailed) values of 0.891 > 0.05. There is no difference in the results of cognitive biology study using STAD and TGT model on students who have high academic ability, Sig 0.854 (p > 0,05).
