Abstract

The global transition to IPv6 has introduced new attack surfaces within core network protocols, particularly the Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP). One of the most critical yet often overlooked threats is the Neighbor Advertisement (NA) Flood attack. Unlike conventional volumetric DDoS attacks aimed at saturating network bandwidth, NA Flood exploits the Stateless Address Autoconfiguration (SLAAC) mechanism to trigger resource exhaustion on target devices. Investigating such incidents presents unique forensic challenges, as attack traces in volatile memory are often lost when using traditional dead forensics methods. This study implements a real-time forensic investigation approach by integrating Live Forensics methods with the Digital Forensic Framework for Reviewing and Investigating Cyber Attack (D4I). This method is applied to acquire crucial volatile artifacts during the attack and reconstruct the modus operandi through Cyber Kill Chain (CKC) mapping and Chain of Artifacts (CoA) construction. Experimental results demonstrate that NA Flood attacks possess dangerous asymmetric characteristics: generating low network traffic (4.71 Mbps) while causing a CPU surge of up to 50% and a memory increase of 89.5 MB on the target server. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of Live Forensics with the D4I framework to acquire volatile data in real-time and systematically transform raw artifacts into a comprehensive forensic conclusion. This approach successfully reconstructs the 5W1H (Who, What, Where, When, Why, How) elements of the incident and visualizes the shift of the point of failure from the network infrastructure to the endpoint, offering a robust model for investigating protocol-based resource exhaustion attacks.

Abstract

Abstract

This study extends the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to explain why citizens frequently abandon digital public services despite substantial government investment in e‑government platforms. It focuses on Riau Province, Indonesia, and positions User Satisfaction as a central mediator linking four UTAUT antecedents—Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions—to actual usage behavior. Adopting a deductive quantitative design, the research uses a stratified random survey of 240 e‑government users and analyzes the data with PLS‑SEM, supported by rigorous tests of reliability, validity, common‑method bias, and predictive relevance. The model explains 80.1% of the variance in User Satisfaction and 80.2% in User Behavior, indicating strong explanatory and predictive power. Results show that Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions significantly increase satisfaction, while Performance Expectancy, Facilitating Conditions, and User Satisfaction itself are key direct predictors of continued use. User Satisfaction also mediates the effects of performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions on behavior. Although Effort Expectancy is not statistically significant at the 5% level, it exhibits the largest effect size on satisfaction, underscoring the structural importance of ease of use. Theoretically, the study validates an under‑explored affective pathway in mandatory settings; practically, it offers a roadmap for shifting from technology‑centric to citizen‑centric digital governance.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in various sectors, such as smart homes, healthcare, and transportation, has provided significant efficiency. Nevertheless, many IoT devices are developed without a serious review of security standards, and forensic readiness consideration. As a result, these IoT devices are vulnerable to cyber-attacks that can potentially lead to malware attacks, and system manipulation. This study aims to propose and validate a digital forensic investigation framework in the IoT ecosystem. The framework layers designed in this study consist of the device layer, network layer, and cloud layer. Validation is carried out through a simulated crime scenario recorded by the Mi 360° smart home camera. Meanwhile, the analysis phase focuses on data source artifacts from the device layer, video metadata, technical attributes, and cryptographic integrity verification using hash values (MD5 and SHA-1) documented in the Chain of Custody (CoC) method. The experimental results of this study indicate that digital evidence artifacts sourced from across layers have reliable temporal and structural consistency in reconstructing the chronology of events. This framework successfully correlated artifacts across three layers to reconstruct a complete event timeline, demonstrating its practical validity in distributed IoT forensic investigation.
