Abstract

Catfish is a freshwater consumption fish that is most widely cultivated in Indonesia, occupying the top position in total production, catfish has contributed more than 10% of the national aquaculture production with a growth rate of 17 to 18%. Catfish has a fairly high protein content and is very competent to improve human nutrition, because it is classified as a high quality food and its uniqueness is a must. Due to the high density of cultivation, a technology is needed that supports the maintenance of oxygen content, namely microbubble. This research was conducted for 50 days by observing the growth of catfish in 3 different conditions, namely without aerator, with conventional aerator and microbubble. The results showed that the absolute weight and absolute length without aeration were 5.2 g and 3.5 cm. then with a conventional aerator it produces 5.3 g and 3.5 cm. and on Microbubble it is 9.2 g and 7.2 cm. Judging from some of the parameter test results, it shows that raising catfish using microbubble increases the growth rate and productivity of catfish.

Abstract

Abstract

The increasing development of tourism in the Jerowaru Paremas conservation area has caused several problems, including environmental damage, environmental pollution and marine debris problems. One of the efforts that is expected to support coastal cleanliness is the active effort of the local community. The purpose of this activity is expected to be able to provide awareness of the cleanliness of the coastal environment for local communities and tourists as well as provide an understanding to the public that the waste produced has a negative impact on the development of biota and aquatic ecosystems. The method used in this clean-up activity is the observation, descriptive and participative method with the method approach used in counseling and training activities that are 'persuasive-educative' in nature, which are intended to provide knowledge and understanding in tackling coastal pollution. The clean-up activity was carried out and took place at Paremas Jerowaru, East Lombok Regency, which was attended by 200 participants from students, the community, fishermen and tourists in the Paremas Jerowaru Beach area, East Lombok Regency. This clean-up program can be organized properly and run smoothly in accordance with the activity plan that has been prepared. This clean-up activity can not only develop people's thinking patterns on preventing coastal environmental pollution, but also affect the cleanliness of the coastal environment to maintain conservation areas and also increase tourist attraction on the Paremas Jerowaru Beach, East Lombok.

Abstract

Lombok waters are a potential commodity area for fishing. One of the potential commodities caught is the octopus species from the octopodidae family. A recent study revised the generic taxonomy of the Octopodidae family, and several groups of species previously included in Octopus are now recognized as independent genera. However, knowledge of the phylogenetic relationships among taxa in the Octopodidae family is still lacking. This study aims to identify octopuses belonging to the genus Octopus in Lombok Waters, namely: Sari Gong Beach, Ketapang Beach, Beraringan Beach, Cemara Lembar Beach molecularly. The study was conducted from January to June 2024. Octopus samples caught by fishermen were analyzed morphologically and molecularly. The study will be conducted for 6 months from January to June 2024 in Lombok Waters. Octopus sampling was carried out once a month, observations representing the conditions of the dry season and rainy season with an interval of 30 days. The research methods used include: octopus sampling, identification, molecular identification, alignment of 16S rRNA gene nucleotide sequences, genetic distance. It is hoped that this study will be useful for providing basic information on octopus species belonging to the genus Octopus found in Lombok Waters. This information can be used for further studies on octopus biology, octopus resource potential, and studies on octopus resource management strategies in Lombok Waters. The octopus species caught in Lombok Waters were identified morphologically and molecularly as Octopus cyanea. In addition, the nucleotide base sequence can be used to design specific COI gene primers for O. cyanea

Abstract

Mud crab (Scylla serrata) is a fishery commodity that has high economic value and has a wide salinity tolerance so that its growth can be developed. The growth of mud crabs can be influenced by genetic traits such as moulting. In cultivation activities there are methods that can accelerate the moulting process such as environmental engineering (increasing and decreasing the salinity of the maintenance media) and mutilation. This study aims to determine the growth and fastest moulting time of crabs in media with different salinities in controlled media. The method used is an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely: (Control), (P1: 5 ppt), (P2: 10 ppt), (P3: 15 ppt) and (P4: 20 ppt) which are given to mud crabs for 45 days. The results showed that at 5 ppt salinity obtained the fastest moulting time which was 24.3 days and the longest was at 20 ppt salinity for 39 days, while the highest growth was obtained in the 15 ppt salinity treatment with an average absolute weight of 27.3 grams and the lowest was in the control treatment with an average absolute weight of 18.3 grams.
