Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Fazlur Rahman and Syed Naquib Al-Attas' educational concepts in full-day schools in Indonesia. The institutions studied implement an integrated curriculum that combines formal madrasah education with pesantren-style learning, in order to meet the needs of parents who want their children to receive Islamic education without having to live in a full-day schools. The research focuses on the integration of muhadatsah, muhadharah, tahsin-tahfidz, imla’, nahwu-sharaf, and mahfudzoh programs with the Ministry of Religious Affairs curriculum. The research used qualitative methods with a case study approach, through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews with eight key informants (head of the madrasah, deputy head of curriculum, Islamic Education teachers, tahfidz teachers, and students), and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted inductively using the Miles and Huberman model, through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, accompanied by triangulation of sources and methods to ensure the validity of the findings. The results of the study indicate that educational practices in these schools reflect the application of the principles of Quranic knowledge and moral integration according to Fazlur Rahman and the concepts of adab and spirituality according to Syed Naquib Al-Attas, which combine to form a modern Islamic education model that harmoniously integrates rationality, morality, and spirituality into a full-day school system. These findings contribute to the development of a holistic, contextual, and adaptive Islamic education paradigm that meets the needs of modern urban communities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by challenges in biology learning, including the lack of digital literacy assessment in schools and the use of conventional learning methods that tend to make students bored. Impractical printed teaching materials cannot be integrated into the form of videos. This research aims to develop an e-module based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to analyze the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of e-modules in improving students' understanding of concepts and digital literacy on human respiratory system materials. This research uses the Development Research (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model.  The research was carried out at SMAN 1 Malinau. The implementation stage used a non-equivalent control group  design involving 34 students in the experimental class and the control class. Data collection instruments include validation sheets for media and material experts, practicality questionnaires for teachers and students, and pretest-posttest  tests to measure concept understanding and digital literacy.  Analysis of effectiveness data using N-gain test and hypothesis test (independent sample t-test for concept understanding and Mann-Whitney for digital literacy). The results of the research based on the validation of media experts and subject matter experts show that the STEM-based e-module is declared "Excellent". The e-module is also rated "Very Practical" by biology teachers and students. The e-module was shown to be effective in improving conceptual understanding, where the average N-gain value of the experimental class (58.63; Quite Effective category) was significantly higher (p=0.017) than that of the control class (40.62).

Abstract

This study examines the influence of satlogi santri values on the development of Sufistic leadership at Pesantren Zainul Hasan Genggong Probolinggo, with a particular focus on their impact on service quality and individual productivity. Adopting a qualitative design, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the habitualization process occurs in three stages: externalization, in which values are articulated and transmitted by pesantren leaders; objectivation, in which these values are institutionalized through daily practices and rituals; and internalization, in which values such as humility, sincerity, and integrity become embedded in leaders’ behaviors. This process fosters a leadership style that emphasizes ethical conduct, exemplarity, and accountability. As a result, Sufistic leadership improves communication, strengthens trust, enhances service quality, and promotes a productive work culture. The study concludes that Sufistic leadership provides not only a solution to the ethical leadership crisis in educational institutions but also a practical framework for pesantren and other Islamic educational settings to cultivate sustainable organizational culture and improve overall institutional effectiveness.

Abstract

Although digital well-being has received increasing attention, research on Human Resource Development (HRD) strategies to enhance digital well-being among Islamic education teachers remains limited. This study aims to develop HRD strategic steps based on planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC) that integrate digital well-being with Islamic values. A qualitative case study approach was employed at SMP Negeri 2 Padangan, involving five key informants selected purposively, consisting of two Islamic education teachers, the principal, and two vice principals. Data were collected through a systematic literature review, semi-structured interviews, and observations, then analyzed using interactive thematic analysis and triangulation. The findings reveal three key issues: connectivity invasion that blurs work–life boundaries and creates telepressure, a gap between technical digital training and teachers’ well-being needs, and personal spiritual coping practices that remain institutionally unintegrated. Based on these findings, the study proposes four HRD interventions: digital workload risk assessment, an Islamic “right to disconnect” policy, a Spiritual Digital Coaching program combining stress management with muraqabah and muhasabah, and a holistic well-being-based performance evaluation. These findings contribute to digital well-being theory in faith-based education by integrating Islamic ethical principles, including ḥifẓ al-nafs, wasaṭiyyah, and qudwah, into HRD strategy. The study concludes that safeguarding teachers’ digital well-being is both a spiritual and strategic necessity and recommends that educational institutions adopt POAC-based HRD strategies to build a sustainable professional culture. Future research should operationalize and test these strategies and develop context-specific digital well-being assessment tools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of self-management as a basis for character formation from the perspective of psychology and education, explain the mechanism of self-management in the internalization of character values, and describe the implementation of self-management in building student character at SDN Dukuh Kidul, Ngasem, Bojonegoro. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by combining conceptual study and implementation in the context of elementary schools. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed qualitatively through three stages, namely data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that self-management serves as an essential foundation for character formation because it involves the ability to regulate thoughts, emotions, and behavior consciously. The mechanism of self-management operates through self-regulation, self-control, and self-evaluation, which transform moral values from normative knowledge into habits internalized by students. In its implementation at the elementary school level, self-management can be fostered through habituation, discipline reinforcement, teacher modeling, self-reflection, and the creation of a supportive learning environment. These findings affirm that effective character formation depends not merely on external supervision, but also on students’ ability to manage themselves independently, consistently, and responsibly.
