Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk lambang atau simbol sufistik yang terdapat pada manuskrip puisi Hujan Bulan Juni karya Sapardi Djoko Damono. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga belas puisi yang mengandung lambang aspek sufistik sastra transendental yang memiliki peranan sebagai puisi sufistik. Manuskrip karya Sapardi ini bisa disebut sebagai sastra transendental, karena berisi pengalaman yang dipaparkan penyair tentang pengalaman transendental seperti perjalanan, kerinduan, dan persatuan terhadap Tuhannya.

Abstract

It is expected that Indonesian secondary school students learn to read in English for fulfilling school requirements (for both learning and testing). However, many students have a problem in reading textbooks caused by the lack of students’ understanding in answering the comprehension questions correctly. This leads to students' lack of interest in reading. Having collected the relevant pieces of literature and data, we concluded that students' motivation, the students' awareness of reading text genre, and the proper implementation of reading strategies are the effective solution to enhance Indonesian secondary students' reading comprehension skills. This study offers some important insights to the research in reading skills not only academically but in daily life. Moreover, the study is to facilitate English teachers in understanding students' reading comprehension problems, what strategies to apply in teaching reading and how to choose the suitable reading text genre to make their students achieve better in their academic performance and to make the students' love reading. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep makna penamaan kultural, makna budaya, dan makna kepercayaan masyarakat pada “Bhuju’ Pongkeng” di Pongkeng, Bluto, Sumenep, Jawa Timur. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan etnolinguistik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode penghimpunan, menelisik, dan sesuai kapabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) konsep penamaan atau sejarah nama “Bhuju’ Pongkeng” yang ada di Pongkeng, Bluto, Sumenep, serta (2) makna budaya dan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap “Bhuju’ Pongkeng”. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi kepada semua pihak dari aspek agama, pendidikan, budaya, terutama generasi muda khususnya di Sumenep dapat memahami penamaan dan makna budaya “Bhuju’ Pongkeng” yang ada di Pongkeng. Dengan demikian, generasi muda dapat melestarikan salah satu budaya yang ada di Sumenep.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang bahasa figuratif pada puisi “ Sajak Kepada Bung Dadi” wiji widodo bahasa figuratif yang dibahas pada artikel ini mengacu pada beberapa permasalahan, yakni: 1) apa saja unsur-unsur bahasa figuratif yang digunakan pada puisi “Sajak kepada bung Dadi” karya wiji widodo 2) Bagaimana makna penggunaan bahasa figuratif pada puisi tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan melalui pendekatan teori-teori bahasa figuratif, yakni dengan menganalisis penggunaan bahasa figuratif dan makna yang dihasilkan olehnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bahasa figuratif yang dominan dalam puisi “sajak kepada bung dadi ”karaya wiji widodo ,yakni Srakasme, Ironi, Repitisi, Metafora. Unsur-unsur ini salah satu bahasa figuratif yang membandingkan dua hal dalam bentuk yang berbeda. Dengan demikian, artikel ini diharapkan dapat memberikan sumbangan teori atas aplikasi dari penggunaan bahasa figuratif pada karya sastra dalam bentuk puisi sehingga dapat dihasilkan makna yang terkandung di dalamnya.Kata Kunci: Makna Figuratif, Antologi Puisi, Wiji Thukul

Abstract

This study focused on the structures of requesting imperative sentences of Djarum 76 cigarette advertisement. The researchers tried to explain the types, structures, and markers on verbal requests which appear on Djarum 76 advertisements on TV during 2009-2014. This study applied descriptive qualitative method. The data were requesting sentences in the advertisements of Djarum 76 which wre taken from Youtube website. The process of data collection involved watching, listening, and note taking technique. Meanwhile, for data analysis, the researchers applied distributional method. The results of this study show that: (1) not all requesting sentences on Djarum 76 advertisements omitted their subjects which referred to the speakers; (2) the requests could be expressed in different ways, such as by using a minor sentence and not a clause which refer to the  previous sentence as well as using nominal phrase (e.g.kuda poni)  as what appeared on six advertisements. In addition, requesting sentences on advertisement of Djarum 76 had some different markers for requesting sentences compared to what is stated in the existing theories, such in the use of the words mau, pengin, dan jadikan contrasted to the common term minta.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity was carried out at SDN Kebunagung II, Sumenep City District, Sumenep Regency, East Java Province. The purpose of this PKM activity is to improve teachers' ability to create learning media using technology so that teachers are able to create an active learning environment through digital comics as a learning medium in helping teachers deliver material at the Elementary School (SD) level in the Independent Curriculum, and aims to solve the problems of teachers at SDN Kebunagung II in maximizing students' digital literacy and numeracy competencies. This training activity is divided into 3 stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the post-implementation stage. This activity helps teachers at the elementary level, especially teachers at SDN Kebunagung II to understand the use of technology as a learning medium. Based on the results of the activity, it is known that teachers are very enthusiastic about using technology-based learning media in the form of digital comics. It can be concluded that this service activity was carried out well in accordance with the expectations of the service team and the participants, where teachers already understand how to implement technology as a form of learning media at SDN Kabunagung II

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a way to identify talents and teach according to students' different learning styles. Digital-based differentiated learning is an innovation in elementary school teaching and learning processes. This research aims to determine the use of digital-based differentiated learning models in improving science problem-solving in elementary schools because students tend to experience difficulties understanding the material taught in science subjects, and students are still lacking in developing the ability to solve science questions. This research method used quantitative research methods with the Pre-Experimental Design One Group Pretest-Posttest research model. The research sample consisted of 29 grade IV students who had a learning style of 76% visual, 14% auditory, and 10% kinesthetic. Data collection techniques used tests and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used the Z test and the Mann-Whitney U test. The research results for the Mann-Whitney test obtained a significance value of 0.001, meaning 0.001 0.05, so Ho was rejected, and Ha was accepted. Thus, the use of digital-based differentiated learning models can improve science problem-solving in elementary schools. The research findings indicate that digital-based differentiated learning models significantly enhance science problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This research aimed at explaining the implementation of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) technique in enhancing the students’ reading comprehension. The study was a classroom action research. The research was carried out in a cyclic process. The subject of this study were the students of semester I Mathematics Education Study Program STKIP PGRI Sumenep in the academic year 2022/2023. The data were collected through a number of instruments namely observation sheets and field-note analyzed qualitatively, and the result of the quizzes were analyzed quantitatively. The findings show that first, there was a significant improvement on the students’ reading achievement after being taught by using STAD Technique. Second, there was a good improvement on the students’ responsibility in learning the lesson and the students’ learning motivation. Based on the quizzes given at the end of each cycle, there was a significant improvement in the students’ reading comprehension. In the first cycle, the average score gained by the students was only 59%, in the second cycle, the average score improved at the level of 77%, and in the last cycle, the students’ average score was 88%. A conclusion can be drawn then the implementation of the STAD technique gave contribution positively in enhancing the students’ reading comprehension

Abstract

The principles of politeness are fundamental to understanding ethical and moral behavior.  This study explores the principles of politeness, as manifested in maxims, and the ethics and morals of students at Islamic Elementary School. The method used in providing data is the Listen method with Dasar Sadap techniques with Simak, Bebas, Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique. Data was obtained from 25 students' oral and written speech. The oral speech data was collected by dialogue using a recorder and transcript. Then, written speech data was taken from the transcript of the message. The research uses a pragmatic theoretical approach, especially the principles of language politeness (Leech, 1983). The data analyzed uses the collection method with Bagi Unsur Langsung (BUL) technique. This technique divided data directly into the theory, although the results of the research show that the language use of Nurul Islam students does not violate the principles of politeness. In that sense, students' speech is classified as using polite language, which is manifested in the form of (1) the maxim of wisdom (tact maxim), (2) maxim of generosity or generosity (generosity maxim), (3) maxim of acceptance or praise or appreciation (approbation maxim), (4) humility or simplicity maxim (5) agreement maxim, (6) sympathy maxim. These maxims shape student ethics and morals in the midst of rapidly increasing technological developments through the language conveyed in the interactions carried out. Thus, this research contains the politeness principle Islamic Elementary School Studets used. Social media do not influence the language used of politeness principle, although the research still has the potential to be studied in more depth regarding the principles of politeness from different perspectives and objects in rapid technological advancements.

Abstract

Novel termasuk ke dalam wacana yang dinyatakan secara tertulis, jadi penggunaan kata sampai dengan kalimat harus berkaitan secara padu antara kalimat sebelum dengan kalimat sesudahnya. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui; (1) penggunaan kohesi gramatikal (2) penggunaan kohesi leksikal. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu berupa metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui pendekatan analisis wacana. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa data tulis yang berbentuk teks mulai dari kata sampai kalimat yang mengandung kohesi gramatikal dan leksikal, dalam novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila S. Chudori. Pengambilan data penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode simak dengan Teknik lanjutan yaitu Teknik catat. Selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan metode agih dengan Teknik dasar bagi unsur langsung (BUL). Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan yaitu: (1) penggunaan kohesi aspek gramatikal meliputi: referensi (pengacuan), subtitusi (penyulihan), konjungsi (perangkaian) dan elipsis (pelesapan), yang didominasi dengan penggunaan referensi (pengacuan). (2) penggunaan kohesi aspek leksikal meliputi: repetisi (pengulangan), sinonim (sanding kata), antonim (lawan kata), serta kolokasi (sanding kata). Penggunaan Kohesi gramatikal ditemukan sebanyak 28 data yang terbagi atas 11 data referensi, 2 data subtitusi, 6 data elipsis, dan 9 data konjungsi. Sedangkan kohesi leksikal ditemukan sebanyak 13 data yang terbagi atas 5 data repetisi, 2 data sinonimi, 4 data antonimi dan 2 data kolokasi.
