Abstract

The phenomenon of recidivism among former terrorism convicts presents a complex challenge within the socio-legal context. This study aims to explore the driving factors behind the recurrence of terrorism-related offenses among previously incarcerated individuals. By employing a socio-legal perspective, the research examines the interplay of social and legal factors that contribute to the re-engagement of former terrorism convicts in illegal activities. Drawing on existing literature and empirical data, this paper identifies various key factors, including societal stigma, socio-economic struggles, and deficiencies in the legal system. The study underscores the importance of comprehensive policies that address both social and legal dimensions to effectively prevent and address recidivism in the terrorism context. By understanding and addressing these driving factors, policymakers and practitioners can develop more targeted and nuanced interventions to facilitate successful rehabilitation and reintegration while safeguarding national security and promoting social cohesion.

Abstract

One problem in the implementation of counseling in Indonesia is related to cultural bias. This is because counseling theories originally derive from theories based on Western cultural values. Indigenous counseling with a Sufistic approach is one way to address this cultural bias. This research aims to deeply explore counseling practices in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and the Sufistic values in their counseling services. The study is a qualitative-exploratory descriptive-research using a qualitative-ethnographic-interpretive approach. Data collection techniques involve participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings of this research indicate significant differences in characteristics between professional counseling (western) and counseling in pesantren, including inequality between counselors and clients (unequal relationship). Moreover, their relationship is likened to that of a father and son, appearing as a superior-inferior relationship. The Sufistic values applied in counseling services include humility (tawadu), obedience to the advice of the kyai as a counselor, limiting the principle of client confidentiality, and providing solutions directly through advice and religious prayers (wirid). Further research can be conducted to measure the effectiveness of Sufistic values in counseling services in pesantren.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the development of social media as a means of preaching, including Husain Basyaiban's Tiktok. This study aims to find out what da'wah messages are contained in the TikTok content in terms of the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth. Therefore, this study is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The semiotic analysis used is the Roland Barthes model, a theoretical framework that examines signs and their meanings in cultural contexts. In this analysis, we identified and interpreted the signs (visual and textual elements) in Husain Basyaiban's TikTok video, considering their cultural and social contexts. The results of the analysis show that the video contains several meanings and messages, namely: mutual respect between religious communities, not insulting other people's beliefs, respecting other people's religious rituals when religion is insulted, fighting, being careful in protecting your beliefs, the importance of conscience in maintaining tolerance, Islam is the true religion, there is no prejudice against religions other than Islam, preaching is an obligation, and Muslims carry a great trust. Then, in Husain Basyaiban's TikTok video, researchers also found the meaning of the video's denotation, connotation, and myth. With the meaning obtained, this study implies the importance of disseminating da'wah content through social media. Social media like TikTok can display short moral content but with deep meaning.*****Studi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perkembangan media sosial sebagai sarana dalam berdakwah diantaranya adalah Tiktok Husain Basyaiban. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa saja pesan dakwah yang terkandung dalam konten tiktok tersebut dilihat dari makna denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Oleh karenanya studi ini merupakan studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Analisis yang digunakan merupakan analisis semiotika dengan model Roland Barthes. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa di dalam video tersebut mengandung beberapa makna dan pesan, yakni: saling menghormati antar umat beragama, tidak menghina keyakinan orang lain, menghormati ritual agama orang lain, ketika agama dihina wajib dilawan, berhati-hati dalam menjaga akidah, pentingnya hati nurani dalam menjaga toleransi, Islam adalah agama yang benar, tidak berburuk sangka terhadap agama selain Islam, berdakwah merupakan suatu kewajiban dan umat Islam mengemban amanah yang besar. Kemudian dalam video tiktok Husain Basyaiban, peneliti juga menemukan makna denotasi, konotasi dan mitos dari video tersebut. Dengan makna yang didapat tersebut, studi ini mengimplikasikan pentingnya diseminasi konten dakwah melalui media sosial. Media sosial seperti TikTok dapat menampilkan konten moral singkat tetapi dengan makna yang mendalam.

Abstract

Psychological well-being affects one’s feeling and behavior. Thus, this study attempted to examine the effectiveness of group counseling with reframing technique to improve the psychological well-being of the grade eight students of SMP Almunawir Batang. It used reframing intervention for six sessions and a pretest-posttest design which was analyzed using Wilcoxon test. Of initially 135 students, eight containing four male students and four female students were chosen to be the subjects of this study. Findings showed that the group counseling with reframing technique is effective to promote psychological well-being. Consequently, reframing technique can be said effective to improve this variable, and counselors are suggested to apply this treatment to improve students’ psychological well-being.

Abstract

Both emotional and spiritual intelligence help individuals do self-control. This study aimed at proving the extent to which emotional and spiritual intelligence affect students’ self-control. This correlational study involved 329 students from 4 islamic junior high schools in Semarang City selected using a cluster sampling technique. Their data were analyzed using a hierarchical regression analysis. Findings have proved that both spiritual and emotional intelligence had significant effects on self-control. It can be implied that students need to be assisted in performing self-control for to achieve future success by reinforcing emotional and spiritual intelligence.

Abstract

Academic burnout is a common problem experienced by students. Thus, this study attempted to identify and analyze the relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout by involving public senior high school students throughout Sungai Lilin sub-district amounted to 300 people chosen using cluster random sampling. Their data were collected using the instruments of Maslach Burnout Inventory-Students Survey (MBI-SS) and Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS) modified into Indonesian which gained alpha coefficient of 0.84 and 0.97 respectively. Findings indicated that four of six aspects of maladaptive perfectionism, concern over mistakes, parental expectation, and parental criticism positively correlated with academic burnout, while the aspect of doubt about actions had a negatively correlation. In addition, two adaptive perfectionism aspects, namely personal standards and organizations had no correlation with academic burnout. These imply that students need to be enlightened about awareness of the impact of maladaptive perfectionism and adjusted to the adaptive ones so that their burnout can be solved.

Abstract

Subjective well-being supports the learning quality which later helps students increase their potential. Therefore, the present study aimed at examining the effectiveness of face to face and internet-based mindfulness-based cognitive therapy group counseling to enhance subjective well-being. It used a randomized pretest posttest comparison group design with two experimental groups and involved 12 students selected using the purposive sampling technique from 155 total population of the grade twelve at SMA Negeri 8 Semarang whose subjective well-being were low. Of the analysis, it was found that both face to face and internet-based mindfulness-based cognitive therapy group counseling was effective to enhance the subjective well-being of students at SMA Negeri 8 Semarang.

Abstract

Successful interpersonal communication is one of the determinants of success factors of preaching, counseling, and learning. However, the data showed that not all students can deliver effective interpersonal communication. It can be developed if students have self-concept and self-efficacy. This study aims to examine the effects of self-concept and self-efficacy on students' interpersonal communication. The subjects of this study were 342 students of the Walisongo State Islamic University of Semarang, who were selected using the cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using three psychological scales, namely self-concept scale, self-efficacy, and effective interpersonal communication scale. Simple regression techniques and multiple regressions were used for analyzing the data. The results of the study showed that self-concept partially influenced the effectiveness of the students' interpersonal communication, contributing by 12.7%. In line with the finding, self-efficacy also has a contribution to it by 12%. Also, self-concept and self-efficacy simultaneously had contributions to the effectiveness of the students' interpersonal communication as much as 12.2%.

Abstract

AbstrakKonsep jihad yang dipahami secara tidak tepat menjadikan jihad dianggap sebagai biang tumbuh suburnya kekerasan, ekstremisme, radikalisme hingga terorisme sebagai aksi penyelewengan yang meresahkan. Penelitian ini merupakan studi literatur yang membahas konsep jihad fisik yang sumbernya diambil dari novel Penakluk Badai karya Aguk Irawan MN sebagai jenis karya sastra yang membahas biografi KH. Hasyim Asy’ari sebagai pencetus fatwa jihad. Dianalisis menggunakan perspektif Hermeneutika Paul Ricoeur yang melewati tiga proses analisis yakni objektif, reflektif, eksistensial. Hasil penelitian  menunjukan bahwa jihad fisik yang digaungkan oleh K.H Hasyim Asy’ari yang ditampilkan dalam dialog dan laku tokoh dengan kata kunci teks: Jihad, Pistol, Allahu Akbar! Medan Laga, Bela Tanah Air dan Fatwa Jihad mengarah kepada jihad secara fisik dengan berperang di medan laga yang berpedoman kepada fatwa dari seorang yang kompeten di bidangnya sebagai usaha menjaga kedaulatan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia sebagai bentuk jihad.  Keywords Jihad; Novel; Hermeneutika Paul Ricoeur

Abstract

Ketidakhadiran orang tua secara total berdampak buruk pada kesejahteraan psikologis anak karena kurangnya dukungan emosional dan memicu perasaan kesepian dan kecemasan, ketidakamanan emosional dan kesulitan berbagi perasaan atau kekhawatiran pada anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah konseling Islam dapat mendukung kesejahteraan psikologis anak yang diasuh oleh orang tua tunggal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan di Kabupaten Boyolali, khususnya di Kecamatan Wonosegoro, Kecamatan Karanggede, Kecamatan Cepogo, dan Kecamatan Andong, melalui wawancara mendalam kepada anak rentan usia 10-15 tahun, orang tua tunggal dan dinas sosial. Kemudian dilengkapi dengan observasi dan dokumentasi. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tanpa dukungan yang memadai, anak merasa terpinggirkan atau tidak diterima dan ini berpotensi mengembangkan masalah psikologis seperti harga diri rendah, kecemasan atau depresi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah konseling Islam dapat membantu anak memperkuat ikatan emosional dengan nilai-nilai agama dalam kondisi pengasuhan tunggal. Selain itu, pendekatan konseling Islam juga dapat memberikan kerangka moral dan spiritual bagi orang tua tunggal dalam mendidik anak-anak mereka, membantu mereka mengatasi konflik internal dan menciptakan lingkungan keluarga yang mendukung. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pemahaman praktis dan teoritis. Konseling Islam dapat memberikan pendekatan holistik yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai spiritual, etika, dan ajaran agama dalam proses psikologis.
