Abstract

The development of many private schools in Surabaya has resulted in increasingly tight competition for students between schools. The aim of this research is to look at the strategies of Christian-based private schools in Surabaya in improving the quality and quantity of new students. The methodology used in this research uses qualitative case studies, data collection in this research is by means of interviews, observation, documentation and questionnaires. This research took 1 Christian-based private school in Surabaya. The subjects of this research were the principal, deputy principal, teachers, and parents/committee. The results of this research contain 3 major sub-themes, including, (1) Implementation of internal strategies in line with human resource development and encouragement to introduce schools, improving infrastructure, student services, superior Christian-based curriculum, strong organizational coordination, development of science and technology, Internal policies that provide benefits for prospective students. (2) Implementation of External Strategy, the role of participation by parents, alumni and the surrounding community, central government education policies, and development of creative educational marketing implementation. (3) Obstacles in implementing the strategy require developing facilities and improving services for new students that need to be improved following current developments. Implementing an external strategy requires strategic marketing efforts and price competition that is in line with school financing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan strategi pengambilan keputusan sentralisasi dan desentralisasi dalam Lembaga Pendidikan Hidayatullah Balikpapan. Fokus penelitian tidak lagi terbatas pada kinerja guru putri, melainkan diperluas pada dinamika kelembagaan dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan kebijakan strategis dan operasional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Validasi data dilakukan melalui diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD) dan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mekanisme pengambilan keputusan di Lembaga Pendidikan dan Pengkaderan Hidayatullah (LPPH) berbasis prinsip syura (musyawarah), dengan kombinasi struktur sentralisasi untuk pengambilan keputusan strategis dan desentralisasi pada pelaksanaan kebijakan operasional di unit-unit pendidikan. Pendekatan ini menciptakan harmoni antara arahan pusat dan fleksibilitas lokal, sehingga meningkatkan efektivitas tata kelola lembaga. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis dalam wacana manajemen pendidikan berbasis nilai dan memiliki implikasi praktis bagi lembaga serupa yang mengedepankan kepemimpinan kolektif dan partisipatif

Abstract

This study uses qualitative research, with the type of multi-case study research. The main data source in this study was obtained by snowball sampling. Data collection techniques in this study used three techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The locations used as research sites were State Elementary School Babatan I and State Elementary School Wiyung, which are partnering with USAID Prioritas. State Elementary School Babatan I before partnering with USAID was accredited B, but after partnering with USAID accredited A in 2016. State Elementary School Wiyung was able to maintain its accreditation after partnering with USAID. The conclusion of this study states that improving the quality of education in State Elementary School Babatan I and State Elementary School Wiyung has been reached. This can be seen from the acceleration of changes in both physical development, and human resources, especially teachers and students both in quantity and quality.

Abstract

In the world of education, Total Quality Management (TQM) is the main weapon in improving the overall quality of education. One of the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) is customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is the most important priority in an organization, so organizations must focus on customers. The purpose of this research is to find out how SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Taman satisfies customers. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods using interviews with the director of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Taman. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Taman has a very good way of implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) based on customer satisfaction. This is proven by the fact that SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Taman really minimizes free hours in subjects. SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Taman also facilitates students to study outside of class hours with their teaching staff in preparation for taking part in Olympics or competitions. In cultivating discipline, teaching staff and educational staff display behavior that shows a disciplined attitude towards time. When accepting new students (PPDB) at the initial stage, accepted students will be given a psychological test first. This is aimed at understanding the needs of students. Apart from that, SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Taman public relations always conveys information quickly when there is new news, policies and regulations.

Abstract

Era digital menuntut lembaga pendidikan dasar tidak hanya unggul dalam aspek teknologi, tetapi juga mampu menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter Islami yang kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebijakan pendidikan Program Alazka Islamic Character Building (A-ICB) pada salah satu SD Islam di Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis kebijakan publik berdasarkan model William N. Dunn, Edward III, serta Howlett & Ramesh, yang mencakup enam dimensi utama: konten, agenda setting, formulasi, aktor, implementasi, dan evaluasi kebijakan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan A-ICB ditetapkan melalui Surat Keputusan Kepala Sekolah dan mengintegrasikan nilai Rabbaniyah, Ilmiyah, Insaniyah, dan Alamiyah ke dalam pembelajaran, pembiasaan, dan berbagai kegiatan sekolah. Pelaksanaan kebijakan didukung oleh aktor internal dan eksternal dengan struktur organisasi serta panduan teknis yang jelas. Namun demikian, ditemukan kesenjangan pemahaman di antara pelaksana serta kurang optimalnya pengukuran capaian karakter secara objektif. Disimpulkan bahwa A-ICB merupakan strategi kebijakan yang relevan dan adaptif dalam membangun karakter Islami peserta didik di tengah tantangan digitalisasi. Penelitian ini memberikan dampak positif berupa model implementasi pendidikan karakter Islami yang kontekstual dan aplikatif, yang dapat direplikasi oleh lembaga pendidikan dasar Islam lainnya. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini mendorong pentingnya penguatan pelatihan guru, evaluasi berbasis data, dan kolaborasi lintas pemangku kepentingan dalam menciptakan ekosistem pendidikan karakter yang berkelanjutan dan responsif terhadap perkembangan zaman.

Abstract

Inclusive education holds the important role on developing students’ understanding and character on inclusivity during teaching students with disabilities. Thus, an appropriate teaching method should be assigned on this course. Immersive learning has previously been studied in improving the learning gain for many students, however its application in inclusive education course has rarely been done. This study portrayed the students with disabilities experience on studying inclusive education course with immersive learning. Their experiences were explored on two main aspects including the reception towards immersive learning, and the inclusivity of the immersive learning. Data were collected through test and close-ended questionnaire from nearly thirty students after the intervention. Responses from test were analyzed statistically with Wilcoxon test, while data from questionnaire were analyzed using the statistic descriptive. Results report that students perform a positive outcome after the intervention session with many feel that the lesson is more inclusive. Statistic also shows the difference on students score before and after the lesion. This happened either for students with disability or students without disability. This study may provide a new way of teaching for students with disability, yet further studies are still needed.

Abstract

Penguasaan bahasa menjadi penting karena akses dunia digital sebagian besar menggunakan bahasa sebagai pengantarnya. Penelitian ini merupakan pengembangan media pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu ADDIE. Sedangkan jenis pengumpulan data yang dipakai yaitu jenis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari validasi ahli media, ahli pembelajaran, ahli bahasa, guru, hasil tes siswa. Sedangkan data kualitatif bersumber dari validasi tiga ahli tersebut, kuisoner siswa, guru, observer. Data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data tersebut selanjutnya direkap, dievaluasi kemudian digunakan sebagai acuan untuk melakukan revisi pada media pembelajaran circle of fun. Hasil analisis menunjukan media circle of fun layak di terapkan saat pembelajaran pada materi fruit and vegetables. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah seorang guru harus lebih kreatif dalam memanfaatkan media pada saat proses pembelajaran.
