Abstract

Indonesia is part of the world's largest cigarette production. Smoking behavior has become a common addictive behavior in Indonesia. For most teenagers, smoking behavior has become a common thing, but parents consider it as something that has a negative connotation. Smoking is an activity that is currently much loved by Indonesian teenagers. Attempts at restrictions related to smoking behavior are very difficult. Many negative effects can be caused by smoking. Cigarettes when consumed can be a source of various health problems such as cancer, heart, and respiratory disorders, as well as other things that are certainly a health hazard for the smoker. The existence of these conditions, of course, endangers the younger generation, and there must be Prevention of smoking activities carried out by young children. This study used literature study research methods. This study uses data collection techniques using secondary data. This study involved cigarette users consisting of high school children. The results of this study showed that high school children in Singkawang City, West Kalimantan use their money to buy cigarettes. Some of those who filled out the survey data knew about cigarettes through the intermediary of friends. The problem of smoking in today's era is that of course it will indirectly harm many people who are around smokers because the user is exposed to cigarette smoke.

Abstract

Libraries have a very strategic role for the progress of a nation. The image of a library in everyone's mind must be a book. As this book is a window of knowledge. Sometimes people feel lazy to come to the library because there is no time, but with the sophistication of technology now, the library can simply be enjoyed in the grasp of everyone's smartphone. The downside now is that many books are not available in the library, which is a boomerang for people to enjoy. They rely more on Google to get the information they want to know. West Kalimantan is the third largest region in Indonesia. People in West Kalimantan still do not have a penchant for reading books, as there are still few who visit regional libraries. Based on the Human Development Index (HDI), West Kalimantan continues to increase every year but is still in the medium category. The method used in this research is using Qualitative methods with a descriptive approach and determining informants for more in-depth results. The result of this research is that the West Kalimantan Regional Library has tried to develop services that facilitate administration. Starting from website development and application launching. It turns out that the implementation in the field is still constrained by the existing budget, there is still no funding to make improvements and application development. Apart from looking at administrative services, the government must revive libraries so that they can contribute to human civilisation in the country. Learning from the glory of the Baitul Hikmah library in its time, the book isa follows and adjusts what is their material to improve its human resources, as well as the ideals of a library established.

Abstract

Social services for the elderly or elderly people are still rarely discussed from the perspective of social workers as the scientific discipline that covers them. This problem has an impact on social services for the elderly which are still not holistic, so previous studies have not been able to find the basic needs, basic concepts, and basic patterns of this social work sector. This study will further explore social services for the elderly at the Graha Werdha Marie Joseph Nursing Home in Pontianak through the perspective of social workers. Data was collected through two data search techniques, namely non-participant observation and in-depth interviews. The results of the research show that the forms of social services provided by social workers in nursing homes include providing decent and comfortable accommodation, providing life insurance in the form of health, food, clothing and other necessities, carrying out recreational activities, and providing guidance. religious, mental and social. The basic needs of the elderly are to fulfill their living needs from the moment they arrive at the nursing home until the end of their life. The concept of social services for the elderly is charitable, that is, social workers provide social resources unilaterally. Abstract

Elderly rehabilitation is one of the programs made by the government to provide services to people who are 60 years and over but have welfare problems. This research aims to analyze the use of the UPT of the Elderly Rehabilitation Social Home and Rehabilitation of the Disabled Mulia Dharma as an effort to improve the welfare of the elderly. This research uses a qualitative method that takes a descriptive approach. The data taken for this study uses observation methods, in-depth interviews and documentation. From the research results of the UPT Elderly Rehabilitation Social Center and Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities Mulia Dharma has been said to be optimal because the services and facilities provided can improve the welfare of the elderly who live there.

Abstract

Pekerja sosial memiliki peran penting dalam penanganan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran pekerja sosial dalam menangani kasus kekerasan seksual terhadap anak di bawah tujuh belas tahun di Kota Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data melalui koleksi data, penyajian, data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa peran pekerja sosial dalam mengatasi kasus kekerasan seksual terhadap anak di bawah umur sangatlah krusial. Mereka berfungsi sebagai garda terdepan dalam memberikan pendampingan, dukungan psikologis, dan advokasi hukum bagi korban. Melalui pendekatan holistik dan interdisipliner, pekerja sosial tidak hanya membantu pemulihan korban, tetapi juga berperan dalam pencegahan kekerasan melalui edukasi dan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat. Kolaborasi yang kuat antara pekerja sosial, aparat penegak hukum (pengadilan), Komisi Perlindungan Anak Daerah (KPAD), lembaga pendidikan, dan organisasi non-pemerintah menjadi kunci dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang aman dan mendukung bagi anak-anak. Upaya berkelanjutan dan komitmen dari semua pihak diperlukan untuk memastikan bahwa setiap anak di Kota Pontianak terlindungi dari kekerasan seksual dan mendapatkan kesempatan untuk tumbuh dan berkembang secara optimal.

Abstract

Prison women are a group of people who are trained so that they do not repeat crimes when they reintegrate into society. Therefore, we conducted Tular Reason education activities for female Pontianak prison residents. The aim of the Tular Nalar digital literacy training at the Pontianak City women's prison is to (1) increase critical awareness to avoid crimes originating in the media, such as hoax traps and fraud, as well as incitement, hate speech, etc. (2) Provide the ability to check simple facts using several methods and tools. (3) Become a digital literacy agent in their environment. The activity participants are residents of the Pontianak Women's Penitentiary, most elderly. This activity was attended by 50 older women in prisons consisting of 45 prison residents and five prison officers. The participants were divided into five groups, each accompanied by one facilitator. The facilitators used the activity implementation guide module for the facilitator and the implementing team, templates of training props such as Stickers, Flyers, etc., which can be adjusted according to needs. The material presented to the participants included: (1) Understanding the basics of anti-hoax advocacy. (2) Understanding how to identify hoaxes, (3) Discussing digital fraud, (4) Discussing hate speech. The stages of the activity are using presentations, video screenings, and group discussions, practicing checking news hoaxes/facts, and filling out questionnaires to find out the participants' understanding accompanied by facilitators. The activity results were that the participants could identify hoaxes from the teaching materials used. The participants could present the results of group reflections and carry out simple fact checks.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Regional Regulation No. 19 of 2021 in addressing the presence of beggars and buskers in Pontianak. Data sources include primary and secondary data, with analysis guided by Dunn's Evaluation Theory, focusing on five indicators: program understanding, target accuracy, timeliness, goal achievement, and real change. This theory elucidates the nexus between government decision-making and regulation implementation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis as part of qualitative descriptive research. Informants, comprising Pontianak City social service employees, buskers, beggars, and community members, were selected using Purposive Sampling. The regulation was instituted in response to the fluctuating numbers of beggars and buskers in Pontianak from 2019 to 2023. Findings indicate a necessity for the regulation to better align with Effectiveness Indicators, notwithstanding commendable progress in actual change indicators. Nonetheless, further enhancements are required for the regulation to achieve optimal effectiveness.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the implementation process of the Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance Program, starting from the recruitment process to the distribution of BLTDD assistance in Rasau Jaya General Village. This research uses evaluation theory according to William N Dunn in Syahriza Rizani, F. (2023) which states that this evaluation model is a focused approach to evaluation values that considers facts with a present and past orientation so as to give rise to a recommendation with 6 parameters namely, Effectiveness, Efficiency, Adequacy, Alignment, Responsiveness and Accuracy. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely a research method that focuses on explanation, interpretation and understanding of phenomena. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research found that Rasau Jaya General Village is the only one that uses the Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance (BLTDD) fund distribution system which is carried out by distributing the Cash Management System (CMS), which is a type of financial management service aimed at non-retail customers. So you can manage your finances directly through online facilities. Rasau Jaya Village is the first pilot in Indonesia to operate fund distribution using a Cash Management System (CMS). The targets of this research are people who have many children, high levels of stunting and the elderly as well as people who have been ill for years so they have lost their livelihoods and have no income to meet basic needs in their daily lives.

Abstract

Partisipasi politik merupakan cara nyata bagi individu untuk mempengaruhi arah bangsa mereka melalui pemilihan umum. Dengan bonus demografi yang diperkirakan terjadi pada tahun 2030 dan peningkatan populasi, melibatkan pemilih muda menjadi semakin penting. Studi ini mengevaluasi dampak pendidikan politik dalam meningkatkan partisipasi pemilih muda tersebut. Tujuan dari inisiatif ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang proses politik di kalangan pemilih muda, sehingga meningkatkan partisipasi mereka. Proyek ini dilaksanakan oleh tim PKM FISIP UNTAN bekerja sama dengan Mafindo, menggunakan diskusi dan simulasi sebagai metode pembelajaran. Metode sosialisasi atau penyuluhan digunakan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa setelah intervensi, 42,73% pemilih muda menunjukkan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang pendidikan dan literasi politik, serta efektif dalam menggunakan alat pemeriksa fakta. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan politik yang ditargetkan dapat berkontribusi signifikan terhadap partisipasi pemilih yang terinformasi dan aktif. Strengthening Political Education and Literacy Among Young People Abstract: Political participation represents a tangible way for individuals to influence the direction of their nation through elections. With the anticipated demographic bonus by 2030 and a rising population, engaging young voters has become increasingly critical. This study examines the impact of political education on enhancing the participation of these young voters. The objective of this initiative is to increase the knowledge and understanding of political processes among young electorates, thereby boosting their participation. The project was carried out by the PKM FISIP team at UNTAN in collaboration with Mafindo, employing discussions and simulations to facilitate learning. The method of socialization or educational outreach was used. Results indicate that after the intervention, 42.73% of the young voters demonstrated a better understanding of political education and literacy, and effectively utilized fact-checking tools. This suggests that targeted political education can significantly contribute to informed and active voter participation.

Abstract

Di masa lalu, ketidaksetaraan gender menjadi budaya di masyarakat sehingga melahirkan patriarki. Dengan adanya gerakan ini, banyak perempuan yang merasakan pengaruh positif feminisme dalam kehidupannya. Dahulu, perempuan masih harus menunjukkan eksistensinya untuk mencapai kedudukan setara dengan laki-laki dalam pelayanan publik. Berbeda dengan saat ini, di mana wanita bisa meraih berbagai posisi di berbagai bidang berkat feminisme, wanita saat ini hanya perlu meningkatkan harga dirinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Analisis menggunakan pendekatan interaktif yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan validasi inferensi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi mahasiswa terhadap feminisme, seperti latar belakang budaya, pendidikan, dan pengalaman pribadi. Subyek pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa dan mahasiswi pada salah satu Universitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskrptif. Hasil penelitian ini berdasarkan apa yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa yang diwawancarai memahami konsep feminisme meskipun mereka tidak mempelajari feminisme secara akademis. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa memiliki persepsi yang baik mengenai gerakan feminisme berdasarkan pengalaman dan keyakinan mereka. Beberapa mahasiswa menganggap feminisme penting dan relevan dalam memperjuangkan kesetaraan gender serta mengatasi ketidakadilan terhadap perempuan. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah dapat membantu institusi pendidikan memahami sejauh mana konsep feminisme dipahami oleh mahasiswa, serta bagaimana pandangan tersebut mempengaruhi sikap dan perilaku mereka.
