Abstract

Abstract

Carrying out community service is one of the Tridharma of Higher Education which must be carried out by lecturers and students. Joining the Teaching Volunteer Team, lecturers and students of FKIP Suryakancana University carried out Tridharma activities in restoring student learning motivation after the earthquake. It is not an easy thing to restore the motivation of students after the earthquake, this is because some of the survivors and injured victims are traumatized so that their mental and psychological conditions are disturbed. This includes children who are a vulnerable group affected by the earthquake in Cianjur Regency. To improve learning motivation for students can also be done by integrating the learning process by playing and using the media as an attraction for students. This service activity was carried out to describe the implementation of learning activities in three villages affected by the gemba disaster in Cianjur.

Abstract

Self-regulation is a crucial ability in early childhood development, encompassing the control of attention, behavior, and emotions within learning contexts and social interactions. This ability serves as a foundational component of children’s learning readiness and social adjustment in educational settings. Children with intellectual developmental delay often experience difficulties in self-regulation due to limitations in cognitive capacity and executive functioning, which subsequently affect learning engagement and social adaptability. This study aimed to describe the self-regulation of an early childhood learner with intellectual developmental delay using a case study approach. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with continuous observation conducted over a four-month period in a kindergarten learning environment. The research subject was a six-year-old child diagnosed with moderate intellectual developmental delay. Observations focused on attention regulation, behavioral regulation, emotional regulation, and social-emotional functioning during learning activities. The findings revealed that the child’s self-regulation had not developed in accordance with chronological age expectations. The most prominent difficulties included limited sustained attention, dependence on external guidance for behavior regulation, emotional instability when facing challenges, and restricted peer interactions. These findings indicate that intellectual developmental delay affects multiple and interrelated aspects of self-regulation, highlighting the importance of understanding self-regulation based on developmental rather than chronological age

Abstract

This study develops a structured Sharia-based approach to employee performance management in Indonesian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). SME performance systems often emphasize efficiency, while Islamic ethical and spiritual principles remain under operationalized within formal HR mechanisms. The study integrates Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah and Islamic Work Ethics into a three-dimensional performance framework encompassing spiritual motivation, ethical conduct, and organizational contribution, addressing the limited operationalization of Islamic ethics in SME performance research. A qualitative exploratory conceptual design is employed through document analysis of classical Islamic texts and contemporary management literature. Four foundational principles: intention (niyyah), trustworthiness (amanah), excellence (ihsan), and justice (‘adl), are translated into a three-dimensional Sharia-based performance framework encompassing spiritual motivation, ethical conduct, and organizational contribution. The framework advances Islamic management and IHRM scholarship by repositioning Sharia principles as an operational evaluative infrastructure that bridges spiritual accountability and formal HR systems, while offering practical guidance for ethically resilient SMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

Algebraic thinking skills play an important role in mastering mathematical concepts and problem-solving; however, Linear Algebra learning still faces difficulties, particularly in understanding proofs. Therefore, a proof-based Guided Inquiry strategy is needed to help students develop deeper algebraic thinking skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of the proof-based Guided Inquiry strategy, analyze the improvement and achievement of students’ algebraic thinking skills between classes using this strategy and those using conventional learning, and describe students’ responses to Linear Algebra learning through this approach. The research employed a mixed-method approach with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group. The subjects were two classes of mathematics education students, each acting as an experimental and control class. The instruments consisted of pre- and post-tests of algebraic thinking skills, implementation observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Quantitative data were analyzed using N-Gain and mean difference tests, while qualitative data were obtained from observations and student responses. The results showed that the implementation of learning achieved an average score of 92% (very good category). N-Gain analysis revealed that the experimental class achieved a moderate improvement (0.401), higher than the control class (0.246, low category). Moreover, student responses were positive, with an average percentage of 84.8%. These findings indicate that integrating inquiry exploration with mathematical proof effectively enhances students’ algebraic thinking skills and the quality of Linear Algebra learning.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the application of the andragogical approach in Civic Education at the higher education level, particularly regarding its contribution to strengthening students’ awareness and social participation. This research aims to describe the implementation of the andragogical approach and analyze its impact on students’ social participation at Universitas Pamulang. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, using observations, in-depth interviews, and open-ended questionnaires involving early-semester students and course lecturers. The findings reveal that the andragogical approach is implemented through the recognition of students’ prior experiences, critical discussions, problem-solving activities, case studies, community-based social projects, and reflective assessments conducted in the university library as an interactive dialogue space. These learning strategies were proven to enhance students’ abilities to express ideas, analyze social issues, and participate actively in both campus-based and community social activities. The study concludes that the andragogical approach effectively strengthens students’ critical awareness and social responsibility. The study recommends that the andragogical approach be used as a basis for developing learning strategies and designing curriculum policies that aim to improve students’ sustainable social participation across higher education institutions.
