Abstract

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 did not only change the life of business, work, and state, but also people, and education, including Arabic education. These changes, give opportunities for any benefits, on the other hand it also provide challenges. For those who are unable to deal with it, they are going to be fail. This article described and analyzed the challenges of Arabic as the language for communication in Industrial Revolution 4.0. How does Islamic State University respond to the revolutionary changes in industry 4.0. The lovers, activists, educators, and the Arabic language users need to take a quick, precise, and well-prepared attitude. Therefore, the researchers explored data in the Graduate Program of IAIN Tulungagung as the campus of Da'wah and Civilization that use Arabic language as the main pillar in realizing the vision. The researchers used qualitative phenomenological approach. The findings showed that the students were not accustomed in applying Arabic, so they could not create the language environment yet. However, it has often been used in official events. It can be concluded that the Graduate Program of Arabic Language Department of IAIN Tulungagung is able to follow the industrial revolution 4.0 supported by some articles that have been published in both national and international journals.

Abstract

It is not always true that the Arabic language contains absolute gender bias since in fact, the balaghah study has discovered that it respects and upholds women’s dignity for sure. Na’nak confirms this in his book ‘ Al Manar Fi Ulumil Balaghah which precisely describes Arabic as a language that upholds women’s dignity instead of being rooted on gender bias. Every ‘plural’ word is mu’annast, all objects in our galaxy is mu’annast majazy and there is shurah An Nisa’ in Holy Qur’an. We must be proud of Arabic because it is used as the official language of 22 countries of Arabic Nation League, which play essential role in Moslems’ lives throughout the world who speak around 150 millions local languages in western Asia and Nothern Africa. Under the Islan influence, this language colors the languages of Persia, Turkey, Urdu, Malay, Hausa, and Swahili. Arabic contributes 40-60 percent of vocabulary into these languages, and a strong influence on their syntax, nahwu, and literary works. Arabic is spoken as the religious language of Moslems in the world as well as the language of Islamic law. Finally, this language is of Islamic culture taught throughout thousands of schools outside the Arabic world, from Sinegal through Philipines. It is used as a language of learning, literature, and thoughts in history, ethics, law, fiqh, theology, and Islamic book study.

Abstract

There is a view that male and female speak language contradictively. Female is prone to use cooperative speech act, but male is prone to use the competitive one. The use of language which is gender-base discriminated turns to significantly contribute to the marginalization of women. English which seems to be ?innocent? in this case, as a matter of fact, does not only reflect such ?gender bias? but also immortalize that ?bias?. It turns out that language has ?certain hidden agenda?, that is discriminating the male and female. The existance of such gender bias can be traced from the sexist expression found such as (1) assymmetry, (2) mark and non mark expression, (3) derogative semantic, and (4) sexism in discourse. There are three theories which can be used to analyze such phenomena, they are domination theory, discrimination theory, and gender analysis theory.

Abstract

Within this modern era where Islamic doctrines have been more eroded by the advance of scientific development, the power of umma has gradually decreased as a result of abandonment of spirit of jihâd al-nafs. There would be no any other way except to revive the principles and values of Islamic Sufism without leaving rational way of thinking and escaping from social realities. When human recognize their God it would be, then, easier for them to perform everything God commands to them. Where did human come from and where they will go to are among philosophical questions that should be traced by the Sufi. These are foundations for the Sufis to ?recognize their selves?, since by recognizing the self God can be, then, recognized. Tasawuf is a way, which leads to qalb salîm (a pure heart). Many classic books discuss this and the discussion deals with: firstly, efforts to straighten deeds, khushû?, and courtesy of worship; secondly, ways of mujâhadah, self and heart purification, and abolishing madhmûmah (bad manners) and replacing them with mahmûdah (commendable conducts); thirdly, ma?rifat, rabbânîyah, wahbîyah knowledge, dhawq, wijdânîyah, and nature of kashf.

Abstract

This paper attempted to investigate the trends or cultural attitudes of Arabic lecturers of East Java’s State Islamic Universities (PTAIN) in using Arabic. To this end, the present study used a quantitative approach The results show that the directive utterances used by Arabic language lecturers at East Java’s PTAIN tend to take the form of direct speech acts through certain language politeness features. Besides, the hierarchy of the directive politeness speech in Arabic and Indonesian shared a similar degree of illocution. However, there is no significant difference between the hierarchy of directive politeness speech in Arabic, Indonesian, and Javanese perceived by the Arabic language teachers based on the Chi-square statistics test with α = 0.05. Consequently, they tend to use non-Arabic socio-cultural norms in expressing various directive utterances in Arabic.
