Abstract

A research was conducted to study response of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) plant to the application of  fermented organic matter (‘porasi’) (0, 7.5, 15.0, and 22.5 t ha-1), without or with inoculation of Azospirillum sp., and N fertilizer (0, 86, 172, and 258 kg ha-1 N) and also to determine optimal rate of application of ‘porasi’ and N fertilizer without or with inoculant Azospirillum sp.  Field experiments were carried out in Cisarua, Lembang West Java, from June 2003 to Nov. 2003.  The experiments were done in a Randomized Block Design of factorial pattern of three factors, were replicated three times.  Results of the experiments showed that: (1) N contents were higher as rates of ‘porasi’ and N fertilizer increased and with inoculation of Azospirillum sp.,  whereas the highest N concentration was obtained due to application of 22.5 t ha-1 ‘porasi’ with inoculation of  Azospirillum sp. and application of N fertilizer of 258 kg ha-1, and (2) the optimum rate of  ‘porasi’ and N fertilizer without inoculation of Azospirillum sp. was 15.287 t ha-1 and 228.519 kg ha-1 N, respectively, to obtain maximum yield of 6.028 kg per plot or 25.117 t ha-1, whereas with inoculation of  Azospirillum sp. the optimum rate of ‘porasi’ and N fertilizer was 16.464 t ha-1 and 190.110 kg ha-1 N,  respectively, with maximum yield of 6.493  kg per plot or 27.054  t ha-1.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the ability of microorganisms originating from the root ecosystem (Rhizosphere) of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L) as a potential superior to biological agents. For the experiment, soil samples were observed from the rhizosphere of cocoa plants in Pandeglang Regency. At this stage, the research was focused on finding out the extent of microbe screening results from cocoa rhizosphere soil in producing phytohormones. The results from the initial selection showed a population of Azotobacter 2.8 x 105 cfu/mL, a population of Azospirillium of 0.3 x 102 cfu/mL, and a population of Phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) 4.1 x 107 cfu/mL. In the hemolysis test conducted for 9 isolates, only 1 isolate showed a negative result. From the test of the ability to produce phytohormones showed respectively from the highest values were IAA 5.467 mg/L, gibberellin 3.768 mg/L, zeatin 1.321 mg/L, and kinetin 0.886 mg/L. The land rhizosphere of Pandeglang cocoa plant had superior potential microbes which could be used as biological fertilizers.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk monitoring suhu cabai merah sistem aeroponik pada greenhouse. Meningkatnya pertumbuhan penduduk di setiap daerah membuat petani kesulitan dalam bercocok tanam secara konvensional membutuhkan iklim dan lahan yang cukup untuk bercocok tanam, Kondisi di Indonesia dengan lahan luas tapi belum optimal penanaman cabe merah dengan tanah sehingga budidaya dengan menggunakan aeroponik bias tumbuh lebih optimal yang berkualitas. Agar bias menghindari penyakit tanaman serta iklim dibutuhkan Greenhouse merupakan tempat ideal untuk budidaya berbagai tanaman terutama cabai merah. Sistem monitoring  digunakan sensor DHT11 yang berfungsi sebagai pendeteksi suhu cabai merah pada sistem aeroponik dalam greenhouse. Dengan menggunakan mikrokontroler arduino mega 2560 dan LCD 16x2 nilai suhu yang terbaca oleh sensor DHT11 akan ditampilkan pada layar LCD 16x2 sehingga dapat mempermudah petani dalam bercocok tanam cabai merah dengan sistem aeroponik pada greenhouse.. Hasil  monitoring suhu menghasilkan 28 – 320C pada kondisi pertumbuhan cabe merah.

Abstract

A research has been conducted to produce products of various microbial inoculants which synergistically function as a biological fertilizer and could improve soybean production on dry land, especially land that was marginal. Excavation of potential soil microbes on marginal dry land was conducted in Cibaliung District, Pandeglang Banten with a screening technique that had been tested in comparison with isolates that had been successfully tested its superiority. After proving the superiority of microbial synergism between multiple test isolates that had different roles in the transformation of nutrients, especially N and P. Microbial isolates demonstrated synergism effect formulated with a variety of carrier as inoculant products. In this research, isolation of microbes was conducted in the first year that was isolation of Azotobacter and Azospirillum with microbial enrichment with selective liquid media Ashby and Media Okon, BPF Pikovskaya media. The selection of microbial population density, which was aimed to produce a microbial consortium to produce microbes that work synergistically enhance the growth of plants was conducted in the second year. The experiment used a randomized completely block design (RCBD ) with a population density factor Azotobacter sp., Azospirillum and BPF: without treatment ( Z0, AZ0 and BP0) , 102cfu/ml (Z1 AZ1 and BP1), 104 cfu/ml (Z2, AZ2, and BP2 ), 106 cfu/ml (Z3, AZ3 and BP3), 108 cfu/ml (Z4, AZ4 and BP4) and 1010 cfu/1ml (Z5, AZ5 and BP5) soybean plants inoculated at the age of 2 M1ST repeated four times with further testing DMRT 5%. The parameters measured were: plant height, number of leaves, root length, leaf area, dry weight and root dry weight crown. Research showed that treatment of the various levels of population density Azotobacter sp. significantly effect on plant height, while density of population Azosprillium sp. significantly effect on plant height. BPF population density showed significant effect on the number of leaves.Key words: Soybean, Azospirillum, Azotobacter, and BPF

Abstract

This study aims to determine yield componen dan yield of some rice varieties (oryza sativa L.) and organic material with methods system of rice intensification (SRI). This research was conducted in the village of Kaduranca Cibojong Padarincang District of Serang Banten Province, from May 2013 to September 2013 using a factorial randomized block design repeated 3 times. Factors studied included rice varieties, namely: Inpari 11, Ciherang, and HIPA 10 and granting some organic ingredients, namely: Without organic matter, Organic Materials rice straw. The results showed that the use of some varieties showed the best effection the parameters of number of grains perpanicle and grain weight of 1000 grains. HIPA 10 varieties and varieties Ciherang was higher than varieties Inpari 11. While the number offilled grain parameters, the number of empty grains, weightof dry grain harvest, and dry milled grain weight had no significant effect. Provision of straw and organic material gave the best effect on plant height, number of tillers, number of productive tillers, dry weight of harvested grain, milled rice weight, percentage of empty grains and the percentage of filled grain. There was no interaction between several varieties of rice plants with the organic material toall observed variables.

Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of the granting of the empty Palm bunches compost on the growth of seedlings of the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in the nursery. This research has been done in the Banjar Agung village, Sub-district of Banjar Jaya, Serang Banten in May until July 2013. This study used a randomized blocked design (RAK) with a single factor and 5 treatment namely: M0 (0 g Compost), M1 (33 g Compost), M2 (67 g Compost), M3 (100 g Compost), M4 (133 g Compost). Every treatment repeated 5 times, so that the obtained 25 units of the experiment. The parameters observed were higher plants (cm), stem diameter (mm), broad-leaf (cm2), root dry weight (g) and dry weight (g). The research results showed that treatment empty Palm bunches composting gives a very real significant influence for plant height, while diameter of stem, leaf area, dry weight, and root dry weight berangkasan gives no real significant influence on the growth of oil palm seeds.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSugar Palm (Arenga pinnata Merr,) has a high economic value and has the potential to be exported and can be processed into a variety of food and non-food products. Sugar palm is a multipurpose tree because all parts of the tree can be used, such as stems, palm sap, leaves. Characterization of local palm trees had been carried out in Pandegelang, Serang, and Lebak Regencies (Banten Province) which were used as making nursery material to make better sugar palm in the future (superior varieties). This study used a survey method based on guidelines for plantation germplasm management from the Indonesian Plantation Research and Development Center. The results showed the diversity of stems and leaves of palm trees in the three districts. The diversity of stem phenotypes on sugar palm was seen in the height and circumference of the stem. Diverse appearance of palm leaves seen in the length and circumference of the ptiole, the length of the rachis, the length and width of the leaflets. The study conclude that the accessions used in this study showed variations in the appearance of stems and leaves from the accessions of palm trees observed.

Abstract

Sugar palm is a commodity that has the potential to be developed. Sugar palm is developed to produce various products and raw materials for derivative products. Currently, there is a lot of morphological diversity of sugar palm plants found in the field. Presently, identification of various types of sugar palm morphologically in Banten Province is still limited. Sugar palm in Banten Province is found in various locations, such as in Lebak. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of Aren seedlings originating from Lebak Regency. The hypothesis in this study is that there are several characteristics of palm seedlings originating from Lebak Regency. This research was conducted in August 2019 - November 2019 located in Green House, Cinanggung Village, Serang City, Banten Province. This study uses a descriptive method, through a quantitative approach with data analysis and interpretation, and conclusion. The observation parameters in this study were: Plant Height (cm); Number of leaves per plant (strands); Leaf width (cm); Leaf length (cm); stem diameter (cm); Leaf color. The results showed that Aren from Lebak Regency aged 1 year have an average plant height of 28.1 cm, a pinnate leaf shape and a thick like a palm leaf, with an average number of 1 leaves, an average leaf length of 16.4 cm, and an average leaf width of 6.8 cm, with dark green leaf color. The stem diameter has a strength correlation with plant growth level like as plant height, the higher the plant. The greater the stem diameter obtained in this study is 2.19 cm.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was about the growth of in vitro Chrysanthemum daisy L.) on medium which used Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP) and activated  charcoal. Research aim to determine the growth of Chrysanthemum plant on different concentrations of BAP and active charcoal into medium. This reseach was done in culture laboratory, in Association of Plant Forest Seed and Plantation Banten Province.  This research used factorial experiment which arranged in Randomized  Complete Design. The treathment consist of two factor. The first factor was BAP concentrate which were consist of five level include 0 ppm concentrate; 0.5 ppm; 1.0 ppm; 1.5 ppm; and 2.0 ppm. Second factor was activated charcoal dossage which consist four level included dossage 0 g L-1; 1 g L-1; 2 g L-1; and 3 g L-1. Based on the result of research showed that interaction in BAP and active charcoal influenced hight bud, but did not influence the number of shoots.  The best high of shoots on the age 1-5 WAP (Week After Plants) which given BAP and activated charcoal in vitro medium consist act combination 1-5 WAP A0B1 (0.5 ppm BAP without active charcoal). Singular factor BAP and active charcoal showed that act without BAP and activated charcoal produced the best at 5 WAP.Keywords: Chrysanthemum  plant, BAP, and Activated charcoal.

Abstract

Research has been conducted to determine some of the bacteria of antraknosa disease control in chilies (Capsicum annum L.) with in vitro and in vivo methods conducted in the Agroecology Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University on June to October 2011. The research uses Completely Randomized Design same factors as rizo-bacterium bio-control agents. In in vitro test for each factor composed of three level they are application of bio-control from the Pseudomonas fluorescens rizo-bacterium, application of bio-control from the Bacillus sp. rizo- bacterium, and without using a biocontrol agents. In in vivo tests of each factor is composed of 5 levels they are (CO+) without bio-control agents on uninfected chilies, (CO-) without biocontrol agents on infected chilies, with bio-control agents from the Bacillus sp. rizo-bacterium on infected chilies, with bio-control agents from the Bacillus sp. rizo-bacterium on infected chilies, and use bio-control agents combinations of P.fluorescens and Bacillus sp. rizo-bacterium repeated 5 times. Bio-control agent that comes from rhizosfer lands of chilies cultivation, are derived from Ciakar village Cikeusal sub-district, Serang, Banten. The results showed that the biocontrol agents fate with in vitro and in vivo method suppressed antraknosa disease caused by the pathogen Colletotrichum capsici and reduce chilies weight. Bio-control application with P.fluorescens rizo-bacterium group is the best treatment in in vitro test. While in in vivo test, biocontrol agents application of P.fluorescens rizo- bacterium is the best treatment in decrease the incubation period, incidence of disease, and disease antraknosa intensity in chilies, while in decrease in weight shrinkage chilies The best treatment is shown in biocontrol agents of the Bacillus sp. rizo-bacterium.
