Abstract

This study aims to design an interactive learning medium as a tool for introducing sign-based Hijaiyah letters to students with hearing disabilities at SLB Negeri Sukapura. Hearing-impaired students often face challenges in understanding orally and auditorily delivered material. Therefore, there is a need for more inclusive and visually oriented media. The development of this learning medium employs the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, which consists of six stages: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Data obtained from this study—based on content, programming, and visual aspects—shows that the seven participating students gave an average score of 91%, categorized as “Excellent.” The classroom teacher’s evaluation also resulted in a 92% score, likewise categorized as “Excellent.” Based on these results, the learning medium is deemed suitable for use.

Abstract

Tantangan pengangguran dan minimnya keterampilan produktif di kalangan pemuda pedesaan menghambat percepatan pembangunan ekonomi lokal. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan pemuda di Desa Mumbulsari, Kabupaten Jember, melalui pelatihan keterampilan hard skill berupa kerajinan manik-manik (bead crafting) dan soft skill kewirausahaan. Bermitra dengan Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Nurul Huda, kegiatan ini menyasar warga belajar paket C dan pemuda putus sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Learning yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan: pelatihan teknis dasar, workshop produksi, dan pendampingan manajemen usaha serta pemasaran digital. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan psikomotorik peserta dalam mendesain dan merangkai manik-manik menjadi produk bernilai jual seperti gelang, kalung, dan strap aksesori. Selain itu, pendampingan intensif berhasil menumbuhkan kesadaran mengenai pentingnya pengemasan produk dan literasi pemasaran digital. Berdasarkan analisis, intervensi ini efektif menciptakan peluang ekonomi kreatif baru dan mendorong kemandirian peserta.

Abstract

The paradigm of script or literacy does not only encompass basic literacy, which includes the ability to read, write, and calculate. Nowadays, script or literacy can be understood as the individual's ability and skills to access personal potential, their environment, and solve problems necessary in daily life. This service aims to strengthen literacy for learners who have completed basic literacy through independent literacy activities (KUM), which is a learning activity based on independent efforts, learning and striving, and learning that results. his method is one of the strategies used to address the problem of re-emerging illiteracy that occurs among learners who have completed basic literacy. The activity is carried out in several stages. The planning consists of three steps, namely: making agreements with partners, collaborating with successful entrepreneurs/models, and designing mentoring with partners. In the implementation phase, the mentoring is carried out in 3 stages, namely: strengthening reading, writing, and arithmetic skills; providing skills based on local potential and strategies for business development; and mentoring for independent business groups. The evaluation includes both learning evaluation and program evaluation. The results of the independent business literacy program include several outcomes: sustained reading, writing, and arithmetic skills for functional literacy learners, the development of skills to process local coastal resources, and the ability to run independent businesses to support the community's economy through independent business literacy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media digital dalam pembelajaran daring pada Program Kesetaraan Paket C di PKBM Asy-Syarwani, Kabupaten Ponorogo, dengan fokus utama pada penerapan media seperti Google Form, PowerPoint, dan WhatsApp. Dalam penelitian ini, rumusan masalah yang diangkat adalah bagaimana penerapan media digital tersebut dalam pembelajaran daring dapat mendukung kebutuhan warga belajar secara optimal. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk mengeksplorasi secara mendalam bagaimana media digital ini digunakan untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, yang mengutamakan pemahaman mendalam tentang fenomena yang diteliti, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada lima komponen utama dalam pemilihan media yang berpengaruh besar terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran daring, yaitu relevansi media dengan tujuan pembelajaran dan karakteristik peserta didik, kemampuan pengajar dalam menggunakan media, kemudahan penggunaan media, ketersediaan sarana dan prasarata, serta kebermanfaatan media. Pembelajaran daring di PKBM Asy-Syarwani dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahap utama, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Media yang digunakan, seperti Google Form, WhatsApp, dan PowerPoint terbukti efektif dalam menyampaikan materi, memberikan tugas, serta melaksanakan evaluasi, yang diikuti dengan ujian akhir semester untuk menilai pemahaman peserta didik secara menyeluruh. Kesimpulannya, Pemanfaatan media digital seperti Google Form, WhatsApp, dan PowerPoint efektif mendukung pembelajaran daring yang fleksibel dan dapat diakses kapan saja. Penerapan media yang tepat membuat pembelajaran di PKBM Asy-Syarwani berjalan lancar dan memberikan hasil maksimal, serta meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan bagi warga belajar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis integrasi life skills dalam program Pendidikan Kecakapan Kerja (PKK) English for Guide di LKP Cheerful guna meningkatkan kesiapan kerja peserta. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap alumni dan pengelola lembaga di LKP Cheerful, Banyuwangi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini secara efektif mengembangkan empat komponen life skills meliputi kecakapan personal, sosial, akademik, dan vokasional. Pengembangan kecakapan tersebut berdampak langsung pada peningkatan enam aspek kesiapan kerja lulusan, yaitu tanggung jawab, fleksibilitas, keterampilan teknis, komunikasi, pandangan diri, serta kesadaran kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja. Peningkatan signifikan ditemukan pada kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan adaptasi alumni di lingkungan kerja pariwisata. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penguatan kurikulum berbasis industri dan pendekatan pembelajaran orang dewasa sangat krusial dalam menekan angka pengangguran. Implikasinya, model integrasi ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi lembaga pendidikan nonformal dalam merancang program pelatihan yang relevan dengan kebutuhan dunia usaha dan dunia industri (DUDI) Kata Kunci: life skills, kesiapan kerja, english for guide, pendidikan nonformal   Andragogy-Based Life Skills Integration to Improve Work Readiness at LKP Cheerful Abstract This study aims to analyze the integration of life skills within the English for Guide Vocational Education Program (PKK) at LKP Cheerful to enhance trainees' job readiness. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation involving alumni and the institution's management in Banyuwangi. The findings reveal that the program effectively develops four life skill components: personal, social, academic, and vocational skills. These components directly contribute to improving six aspects of job readiness: responsibility, flexibility, technical skills, communication, self-view, and health and safety awareness. Significant improvements were observed in the graduates' self-confidence and adaptability within the tourism work environment. The study concludes that strengthening industry-based curricula and adult learning approaches is crucial for reducing unemployment. The implication is that this integration model serves as a reference for non-formal education institutions in designing training programs aligned with industrial needs. Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Examine the influence of Quizizz-assisted cooperative learning on critical thinking skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in science learning; 2) Examine the influence of Quizizz-assisted cooperative learning on social skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in science learning. This research is categorized as experimental research. This research was conducted at SDN Sawaran Kulon 02, Kedungjajang District, Lumajang Regency. The population studied in this study consisted of all students, namely class VA (19 students) and VB (21 students), with a total of 40 students. The implementation of this research used a pretest-posttest design with a control group as part of the experimental design. There were two classes in this study that were randomly selected as the experimental class and the control class. Based on the theoretical review, relevant research, and the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Quizizz-assisted cooperative learning model has a positive influence on students' critical thinking skills and social skills at SDN Sawaran Kulon 02. From the research conducted, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1) There is an effect of the Quizizz-assisted cooperative learning model on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in science learning; 2) There is an effect of the Quizizz-assisted cooperative learning model on the social skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in science learning.

Abstract

Whereas indigenous rituals are commonly considered instruments of cultural preservation, the study asserts that they are a complex, highly effective, andragogical system that helps adults learn to transform. With the Slametan culture of the Osing Kemiren community in Indonesia as one of its focal points, this study challenges the dominance of Western, individualist formulations of education by developing the theme of communal practices that promote adult development. A qualitative ethnographic design was employed to collect data through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with adult participants and community elders (Pinar). The results indicate that Slametan is a Community of Practice (CoP) in which adults advance from peripheral involvement to spiritual leadership. Importantly, the ritual in the role of transformative learning, specifically, the Ruwatan (purification) part in the study, allows adults to overcome the dilemmas of life crises (disorienting dilemmas) by critically examining themselves and engaging in spiritual dialogue. Also, the tradition facilitates ecological andragogy, whereby adults must master local ecological knowledge to make rituals effective. This paper finds that the holistic approach to adult education provided by the Osing model integrates spiritual, social, and ecological aspects that are usually divided in formal Western andragogy.
