Abstract

The issue of post-colonial food, like the basic national attributes mentioned at the beginning of this article, is not just a basic need for society. However, food also experienced a process of nationalization. Culinary which is the highlight in this article, is etymologically a translation of the English word 'culinary'. This word comes from the Latin 'culinarius' which is derived from the word 'culina' which means kitchen, a place to cook food. Cooking has a universal meaning, namely the transformation from nature to culture. Food can be said to be the bond that separates one community from another. When away from home, food can convey a sense of belonging in an unfamiliar world. Food can serve as a key to bond. Culinary is a concept about food, thus culinary is an element of culture, which is related to historical roots, colonialism, myths, religion and some values in a society. Culinary there is evidence of a process of cross-cultural communication, in accordance with the influence of globalization. This culinary tour is one of the main destinations for tourists within the city and tourists outside the city because Surabaya City is a transit city. Besides that, Culinary tourism in Surabaya has several cultures, some from Legendary, Chinese, western, etc. For legendary culinary tourism, especially in Surabaya, there are several examples, namely Lontong Balap Pak Fat, Lontong Balap Rajawali, Pak Jayen's Egg Tofu, Mixed Tofu, and many more. In conducting research on this design using qualitative methods. The method used uses two approaches, namely interviews and observation. After determining the method to be used in this design, the method produces a design concept with the keyword "Culinary Experience". These keywords have meaning, namely the meaning of a moment that can be considered an unforgettable experience, such as in terms of taste, the culinary place, culinary history or even the history of the place.

Abstract

Identitas visual Desa Wisata Sanankerto yang telah dirancang masih kurang maksimal sehingga menjadi salah satu faktor yang berdampak akan rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat sekitar terhadap keberadaan dan potensi dari destinasi desa wisata ini. Perancangan desain logo pada Desa Wisata Sanankerto Kabupaten Malang bertujuan untuk menciptakan identitas visual yang baik sebagai upaya untuk meningkatan brand awareness masyarakat terhadap desa wisata ini. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development. Metode Research and Development adalah metode dengan langkah: 1. Penelitian dan Pengumpulan Data (Research & Information Collecting),  2.Perencanaan Penelitian (Planning), 3.Pengembangan Desain (Develop Preliminary of Product), 4.Uji Coba Lapangan Awal (Preliminary Field Testing), dan selanjutnya Merivisi Hasil Uji Coba (Main Product Revision). Dalam melakukan pendekatan tersebut menghasilkan sebuah konsep desain dengan sebuah desain logo yang memiliki arti bahwa Desa Wisata Sanankerto memiliki potensi wisata yang berharga mulai dari potensi alam nan indah hingga kebudayaan yang menakjubkan. Logo yang dirancang digunakan sebagai media komunikasi potensi wisata yang dimiliki oleh destinasi wisata ini agar lebih dikenal oleh masyarakat. The visual identity Sanankerto Tourism Village that has been designed is still not optimal so that it becomes one of the factors that has an impact on the low awareness of the surrounding community about the existence and potential of this tourist village destination. The design of the logo design for the Sanankerto Tourism Village, Malang Regency aims to create a good visual identity as an effort to increase community brand awareness of this tourist village. In this study using the Research and Development method. The Research and Development method is a method with steps: 1. Research and Data Collection (Research & Information Collecting), 2. Research Planning (Planning), 3. Design Development (Develop Preliminary of Product), 4. Preliminary Field Trials (Preliminary Field) Testing), and then Revise the Test Results (Main Product Revision). In carrying out this approach, it produces a design concept with a logo design which means that the Sanankerto Tourism Village has valuable tourism potential ranging from beautiful natural potential to amazing culture. The designed logo is used as a communication medium for tourism potential owned by this tourist destination so that it is better known by the public.

Abstract

Karakter atau tokoh dalam dalam buku ilustrasi anak adalah komponen penting dalam menyampaikan pesan dan jalan cerita. Perancangan karakter dalam buku ilustrasi anak berbasis pop-up yang berjudul “Gilang dan Dharma : Misi Petualangan Candi-Candi Sidoarjo” ini mengangkat isu budaya, yang terdapat kurangnya pengetahuan siswa tentang candi-candi di Sidoarjo, selain itu juga tidak adanya media pembelajaran tambahan dari sekolah untuk membantu pemahaman anak tentang peninggalan sejarah seperti candi. Dalam mendukung konsep cerita pada buku anak, dibutuhkan desain karakter yang menghadirkan sosok penting di balik candi-candi di Sidoarjo. Tujuannya adalah mengenalkan sejarah dan keanekaragaman candi di Sidoarjo. Seluruh karakter yang dibangun menyesuaikan target pembaca dalam cerita yang diangkat, yaitu untuk anak usia 9-11 tahun. Perancangan karakter buku ini diperlukan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif deskriptif melalui wawancara, kuesioner dan studi literatur agar dapat menganalisis konsep desain yang dirancang. Hasil dari perancangan ini terdiri dari 6 karakter, yaitu 1 karakter hewan, dan 5 karakter manusia.

Abstract

Al Qur’an adalah kitab suci yang menjadi pedoman kehidupan bagi umat muslim. Maka, sudah seharusnya seorang muslim berinteraksi dengan Al Qur’an melalui cara yang baik, seperti membaca, menghafalkan, serta memahami isinya. Kebiasaan berinteraksi dengan Al Qur’an ini sudah diajarkan kepada anak sejak usia dini, dimulai dari menghafalkannya. Namun, mereka sering kali merasa jenuh ketika sedang menghafal maupun belajar membaca Al Qur’an, serta tidak adanya kesempatan untuk memahami makna kisah dibalik surah yang mereka hafalkan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan media interaktif yang dapat meningkatkan kecintaan anak dalam berinteraksi dengan Al Qur’an. Salah satu wujud dari media interaktif adalah buku cerita dalam bentuk pop up. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam pembuatan konsep buku cerita pop up ini adalah metode kualitatif. Data-data tersebut didapatkan melalui hasil wawancara, observasi, kuesioner, serta studi literatur. Selanjutnya, data-data tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif deskriptif. Perancangan ini akan menghasilkan konsep kreatif untuk buku cerita pop up tentang makna kisah yang ada di dalam Al Qur’an.

Abstract

The Bina Village program is a learning activity for students to jump directly in the community. The activity requires students to contribute actively and creatively to partners. This community service activity is the education of garbage sorting for 1st grade students in Penangungan SDN, Trawas District, Mojokerto Regency. This community service activity involves 31 students and is carried out through two methods, namely board game socialization and 2D animation video viewing. The first stage, students are asked to watch interactive animated videos depicting organic and inorganic waste management. The content of this 2-dimensional animated video includes the definition of garbage, the impact of garbage collection, the types of garbage with color symbols to identify the type of garbage, and the benefits of garbage sorting. The second stage, students are involved in board games. The main focus of the material given is the sorting of organic and inorganic wastes. This is in line with the Adiwiyata program of the school, which is a caring and environmentally cultured school, and has a real program to integrate environmental preservation. Students contribute to creating educational and training facilities to develop students' motor and memory for waste sorting materials. This is expected to form an environmental awareness for students early on, encourage the behavior of the surrounding community in terms of garbage sorting, and preserve the environment for the future through recycling of garbage.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an approach to designing effective illustration content on the Instagram account of the Rumah Generasi Pemenang Foundation, with a primary focus on efforts to build religious awareness among its followers. The research methodology involves analyzing the needs of the target audience, studying social media visual trends, and exploring the religious values desired by the foundation. By combining design methods and research, this study produces a series of creative and captivating illustration content, with an emphasis on delivering religious messages that can stimulate reflection and spiritual awareness. Evaluation is carried out through response tests from the target group and monitoring online interactions. The research findings show that the design of illustration content on the Instagram of Rumah Generasi Pemenang significantly contributes to increasing religious awareness among followers. The practical implications include the application of more targeted design strategies in conveying religious messages through social media, as well as providing insights to practitioners and researchers about the potential of Instagram as an effective tool in building religious awareness in the digital era.Keywords: religious awareness, social media, illustration

Abstract

The visual exploration in the poster design for the story of the Prophet Muhammad SAW's birthday illustrates an effort to present a rich and meaningful narrative through graphic elements. This design combines historical and contemporary elements, where this poster attempts to build a connection between the historical meaning of the Prophet's birthday and how it is celebrated in modern times. Through visual analysis, we identify aesthetic and symbolic elements with traditional values ​​while reflecting a visual identity that is acceptable in modern society. This poster not only functions as a medium of information, but also as a tool to celebrate and maintain the celebration of the Prophet's birthday in everyday life.

Abstract

Modern lifestyles that tend to be practical and instant contribute to an increased risk of disease, including Gastroesophageal Reflux Disorder (GERD). Based on previous studies, unhealthy diets, lack of physical activity, and bad habits are the main triggers for GERD. Most teenagers have an unhealthy lifestyle. Research obtained through distributed questionnaires found that 64.2% of 81 teenagers aged 18-22 years stated that they often consumed spicy, fatty, or sour foods. As an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of GERD, this campaign was designed to provide education about the dangers of GERD. In designing this campaign, a strong visual identity, including a logo, is an important element to attract the attention of the audience. It is hoped that this campaign can have a positive impact in educating teenagers to maintain a healthy lifestyle and prevent GERD.)

Abstract

Gamelan Jawa Timuran merupakan salah satu warisan budaya Indonesia yang menghadapi tantangan eksistensi di era digital. Generasi Z sebagai kelompok yang lahir dan tumbuh dengan perkembangan teknologi digital memiliki kecenderungan lebih tertarik pada budaya populer yang disebarluaskan melalui internet dan media sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat peminatan Generasi Z terhadap Gamelan Jawa Timuran serta strategi yang dapat diterapkan dalam mendigitalisasi dan memperkenalkan Gamelan Jawa Timuran melalui platform yang sesuai dengan karakteristik Generasi Z. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode campuran dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif melalui survei, wawancara, serta analisis media sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa eksposur terhadap Gamelan Jawa Timuran di media digital masih sangat rendah dibandingkan dengan musik modern. Oleh karena itu, strategi digitalisasi melalui konten kreatif berbasis media sosial dapat menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan apresiasi Generasi Z terhadap Gamelan Jawa Timuran.

Abstract

Defending the country is an obligation for every Indonesian, including the younger generation. The younger generation must be inculcated with the ideology of the Pancasila state so that they have strong resilience in facing the threat of terrorism and radicalism. Nationalism and national defense insight possessed by the Indonesian people are considered not high. For this reason, awareness and enlightenment are needed from an early age to foster a love of Indonesia's homeland. This can be done one of them through the application of state defense values in costume designs and superhero attributes named "Panca Satria". The application of local wisdom to costume design and attributes is an effort to preserve culture. This study uses qualitative research methods using semiotics studies. The results of this study are expected to open the discourse that local wisdom can be raised in future trends in the form of costume designs and superhero attributes that are attractive to children. So, education about the values of defending the country to children can be done effectively.
