Abstract

This study aims to test the hypothesis that independent variables namely, growth mindset, transformational leadership, and cooperation along with intervening variables namely, work motivation and creativity influence the dependent variable of teacher work productivity. The research employed a quantitative method and tested 13 research hypotheses. The respondents were 140 public special education school (SLB) teachers in the Province of Jakarta. The instruments used for each research variable were questionnaires that had previously undergone validity and reliability testing. Data analysis employed path analysis using the SEM-PLS 3 software. The results indicated that 6 hypotheses were accepted regarding direct effects, while 3 hypotheses were rejected. In testing indirect effects, 2 hypotheses were accepted, and 2 were rejected. Furthermore, using SITOREM analysis to classify indicators within the research variables, 18 indicators were improved, and 13 were retained or developed. It is hoped that the implications of this study can improve the work productivity of public special education teachers in Jakarta Province by strengthening a growth mindset, transformational leadership, cooperation, work motivation, and creativity.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of local wisdom into the education. This research aims to examine how local values such as reciprocal cooperation, deliberation, and respect for cultural diversity can be integrated into modern pedagogical practices to create a more inclusive, adaptive, and humanistic learning environment, using a case study and literature review approach or method. In the face of evolving educational paradigms, local wisdom offers a framework for promoting social responsibility, ethical behavior, and a sense of belonging among students. Integrating these traditional values into the curriculum can foster a deeper connection between students and their cultural roots, while developing essential skills needed in today's interconnected world. This approach not only improves students' academic achievement but also strengthens their character, preparing them for leadership roles in local and global communities. Furthermore, the application of local wisdom in education supports the creation of a more inclusive and participatory learning environment. Values such as reciprocal cooperation emphasize collaboration and teamwork, encouraging students to contribute to society and support each other's success.

Abstract

Teacher organizational commitment is the cornerstone of successful vocational education in Indonesia, particularly amidst the transformation of Vocational High Schools (SMK) into Centers of Excellence and the high mobility of teaching staff. This study examines the influence of servant leadership and work motivation on the organizational commitment of private vocational school teachers. Using a quantitative, path-analytic approach with 119 teachers from private SMK Schools of Excellence in Bogor Regency, Indonesia, the study found that servant leadership has a positive direct effect on organizational commitment (β = 0.184, p < 0.01) and work motivation (β = 0.423, p < 0.001). In contrast, work motivation exerts the strongest direct influence on organizational commitment (β = 0.272, p < 0.01). Work motivation also significantly mediates the relationship between servant leadership and organizational commitment (β = 0.115, p < 0.05). These findings confirm that strengthening service-oriented leadership and enhancing teachers' intrinsic motivation are key strategies for cultivating vocational teacher loyalty.

Abstract

The effectiveness of school principals' decision-making is critical to improving the quality of education; however, many principals still face challenges in making timely, accurate, and appropriate decisions. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of visionary leadership (X1), trust (X2), and information and communication technology (ICT) literacy (X3) on decision-making effectiveness (Y) among public elementary school principals in Bogor City. The research employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential, exploratory design, grounded in the POP-SDM framework. The study population comprised 209 public elementary school principals in Bogor City, and 138 respondents were selected via proportional random sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires that had undergone validity and reliability testing and were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrated that visionary leadership (β=0.224; p<0.05), trust (β=0.246; p<0.05), and ICT literacy (β=0.216; p<0.05) each exerted a direct positive and significant effect on decision-making effectiveness. Furthermore, trust and ICT literacy partially mediate the influence of visionary leadership on decision-making effectiveness. The research model explained 51.6% of the variance in decision-making effectiveness. These findings confirm that the integrated strengthening of visionary leadership, trust, and ICT literacy can enhance principals' decision-making effectiveness.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship among work rewards, work ethic, and teachers’ professional commitment among private junior high school teachers in East Bogor Regency, Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative cross-sectional survey design involving 178 teachers selected through multistage proportional random sampling from 23 private junior high schools. Data were collected using structured questionnaires measuring work rewards, work ethic, and teachers’ professional commitment. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling with SmartPLS 3 software. The findings demonstrated that work rewards positively and significantly influenced work ethic and teachers’ professional commitment. Work ethic also demonstrated a positive and significant relationship with teachers’ professional commitment. In addition, work ethic served as a significant partial mediator in the relationship between work rewards and teachers' professional commitment, indicating that work rewards enhanced teachers' professional commitment both directly and indirectly through work ethic. The coefficient of determination analysis demonstrated moderate explanatory power for the proposed structural model. The study contributes theoretically to educational management literature by strengthening empirical understanding regarding the relationship among organizational appreciation, professional behaviour, and teachers’ professional commitment within private educational institutions. Practically, the findings emphasize the importance of developing institutional strategies that combine organizational appreciation, professional support, and sustainable professional development to strengthen teachers’ professional commitment.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine and synthesize the factors that influence lecturer performance in higher education, particularly those related to the reward system, visionary leadership, organizational culture, and organizational commitment. The study used a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach with the PRISMA model, through the process of identifying, filtering, selecting, and including articles from reputable databases, resulting in 57 relevant articles for analysis. The results showed that the reward system was the most consistent factor directly influencing lecturer performance, followed by organizational culture, which plays a role in creating a conducive work environment and encouraging innovation. Meanwhile, visionary leadership showed an inconsistent direct influence, but contributed indirectly through mediating variables. In this case, organizational commitment emerged as a key variable (key mediator) that bridges the influence of various organizational factors on lecturer performance. The discussion shows that lecturer performance is influenced by complex interactions between structural and psychological factors that are multidimensional and non-linear. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of an integrative approach in managing lecturer performance through strengthening the reward system, developing an adaptive organizational culture, implementing effective leadership, and increasing organizational commitment as a strategy for improving sustainable performance.
