Abstract

Competition in the hospitality industry encourages hotels to present service innovations that are able to increase guest satisfaction, one of which is through the presentation of breakfast menus. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the presentation of Indomie menus with the concept of Live Cooking Stations, guest perception of the service, and its contribution to guest satisfaction at Hotel NEO Malioboro Yogyakarta. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data was collected through observations, in-depth interviews with the Executive Chef Cluster and the Food and Beverage Manager Cluster, as well as documentation in the form of guest reviews on digital platforms. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing by triangulating sources to ensure data validity. The results of the study show that the SOP for serving the Indomie menu has been implemented in a standardized manner starting from the mise en place stage, the live cooking process, to the presentation according to time, temperature, and dosage standards. The concept of a Live Cooking Station provides a more interactive breakfast experience through the flexibility of topping selection and direct interaction between guests and staff. Guest perceptions of the service show a positive response reflected in online reviews, guest comment cards, and direct feedback. The presentation strategy contributes to increasing guest satisfaction as well as becoming a unique selling point that strengthens the competitiveness of Hotel NEO Malioboro Yogyakarta in Food and Beverage Services.

Abstract

Abstract

The city of Malang holds heritage-city status with dozens of cultural-heritage buildings, yet this historical capital has not yet translated into commensurate tourism benefits; visits are brief, economic benefits are uneven, and a number of buildings are at risk of change of function. This study aims to map the cultural-heritage potential of Malang City, assess how far its use is aligned with the principles of sustainable development and local potential, and formulate a tourism-development strategy that unites conservation, community empowerment, and sustainability. The study population consisted of heritage-tourism stakeholders in Malang City, with a purposively selected sample of ten informants covering government officials, experts, conservation communities, business operators, residents, guides, and tourists. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analysed using an interactive model—data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing—followed by a SWOT analysis to formulate strategy. The results show that Malang's cultural heritage has strong appeal, particularly because it combines buildings, kampongs, culinary traditions, and residents' stories, but its use is not yet sustainable: the tourism experience remains shallow, economic benefits are uneven, community participation is limited to implementation, environmental pressure is rising, and governance and data remain fragmented. The recommended strategy is to build a coordinated, community-based cultural-heritage tourism ecosystem, comprising an integrated heritage route, a visitor-data platform, multilingual interpretation, adaptive-reuse guidelines, carrying-capacity control, and a cross-stakeholder forum. The study concludes that conservation and utilisation can proceed together when managed in an integrated way that places the community as the principal actor.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a public health problem. Successful treatment of drug-susceptible TB is influenced by patients' knowledge and attitudes in addition to appropriate therapy. Verbal education and printed materials may not adequately address differences in language, beliefs, cultural values, family support, and social perceptions. This study aims to develop an animated video education model using Madeleine Leininger's Transcultural Nursing approach to improve knowledge and attitudes among patients with drug-susceptible TB. The model uses a Research and Development approach with the ADDIE framework: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Cultural assessment is guided by the Sunrise Model, while the intervention applies three culture-care strategies: preservation/maintenance, accommodation/negotiation, and repatterning/restructuring. Video content covers TB transmission, treatment, medication adherence, prevention, nutrition, adverse drug effects, family support, myths, and stigma. The resulting model is called VITA-TB (Video Transcultural Animation for Tuberculosis). Its effectiveness is planned to be evaluated using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines how legislative oversight is translated into performance accountability across selected strategic economic institutions in Indonesia, focusing on the oversight relationship between Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) and the Ministry of Trade, state-owned enterprises and Danantara Indonesia, BP Batam, and state-owned banking institutions. Design/methodology/approach – The study employs qualitative document analysis and structured secondary-data triangulation. The empirical corpus comprises parliamentary records and communications, institutional performance reports, laws and regulations, official institutional releases, and reports from established news agencies. The analysis applies a public-governance framework comprising four oversight functions: information acquisition, performance interrogation, corrective direction, and follow-up accountability. Evidence is examined across financial, operational, governance, public-value, and adaptive-performance dimensions. Findings – Legislative oversight strengthens performance accountability when scrutiny systematically connects resources, targets, implementation problems, institutional outcomes, and public consequences. Effective oversight extends beyond procedural compliance to examine relationships among budget inputs, organizational outputs, service quality, economic outcomes, and public value. However, accountability is constrained by fragmented indicators, inconsistent performance definitions, information asymmetry, limited follow-up, and tensions between political responsiveness and managerial autonomy. These challenges are particularly evident in the emerging governance architecture of Danantara and in BP Batam’s simultaneous achievement of strong investment outcomes and exposure to scrutiny over budget efficiency, land governance, and transparency. Originality/value – The study develops the Oversight-to-Accountability Conversion Framework (OACF), which explains how legislative scrutiny generates public value when information demands are converted into verifiable commitments, corrective actions, and systematic follow-up. The framework integrates legislative oversight, performance management, hybrid governance, and public-value perspectives.

Abstract

Indonesia’s industrial downstreaming agenda depends on the government’s capacity to coordinate policies across ministerial, sectoral, territorial, and public–private boundaries. This study examines how policy implementation and inter-institutional coordination can be understood in Indonesia’s industrial downstreaming governance from a public administration perspective. The study uses qualitative document analysis combined with a purposive, theory-led integrative literature synthesis. The documentary corpus comprises Indonesian industrial laws and planning instruments, selected policy documents, and peer-reviewed scholarship on policy coordination, policy integration, collaborative governance, policy capacity, and implementation. The synthesis identifies six interrelated analytical findings: strategic–instrument misalignment, mandate multiplicity, coordination treated as episodic rather than infrastructural, capacity asymmetry, fragmented accountability, and insufficient adaptive learning. These six findings are subsequently consolidated into five dimensions of the Integrated Strategic Industry Coordination (ISIC) Framework: strategic alignment, institutional role clarity, coordination infrastructure, implementation capacity, and adaptive accountability. Fragmented accountability and adaptive learning are combined because monitoring becomes consequential only when performance information generates institutional learning and policy adjustment. ISIC is presented as an integrative diagnostic framework rather than a new causal theory or an empirically validated model. Its contribution lies in translating several established public-administration perspectives into a sector-specific diagnostic architecture for identifying where cross-institutional implementation may break down. The study offers implications for executive coordination, policy implementation, and legislative oversight while explicitly limiting its empirical claims to industrial downstreaming governance and the documentary evidence analyzed.

Abstract

Thalassemia major and transfusion-dependent thalassemia (TDT) are hereditary hemoglobinopathies that require lifelong blood transfusions and iron chelation therapy to prevent complications related to iron overload. Despite advances in chelation therapy, patients continue to experience complications such as oxidative stress, endocrine disorders, and bone health deterioration. This scoping review aimed to synthesize evidence from research articles regarding the role of iron chelation agents, including deferoxamine (DFO), deferiprone (DFP), and deferasirox (DFX), together with vitamin and supplement interventions in the management of thalassemia patients. This study used the PRISMA-ScR guidelines to identify scientific articles published between 2016 and 2025 from the PubMed and Scopus databases. Eligible studies were selected through title, abstract, and full-text screening according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were extracted, categorized by intervention type, and synthesized descriptively to examine the role of iron chelation therapy, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, folic acid, calcium, and antioxidant supplements in thalassemia management. A total of 29 articles met the inclusion criteria and were reviewed.  The main findings demonstrated that vitamin C enhances the effectiveness of iron chelation therapy, particularly when combined with DFO. Vitamin D and calcium supplementation improve bone mineral density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Vitamin E and other antioxidants help reduce oxidative stress, while appropriate folic acid supplementation prevents deficiency without causing excessive accumulation. The combination of iron chelation therapy with vitamins and supplements provides benefits in reducing complications associated with iron overload, improving bone health, and decreasing oxidative stress in patients with thalassemia. This review offers evidence-based insights to optimize nutritional management in patients with thalassemia undergoing iron chelation therapy.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic condition requiring long-term therapy and medication adherence. Among older adults, adherence may be affected by physical limitations, regimen complexity, cognitive changes, medication beliefs, and family support. Family self-efficacy and caregiver readiness may therefore play important roles in maintaining antihypertensive medication adherence. This systematic review aimed to identify and synthesize evidence regarding the role of family self-efficacy and caregiver readiness in antihypertensive medication adherence among older adults with hypertension. A systematic review with narrative synthesis was conducted using articles retrieved from PubMed (n = 13), Scopus (n = 12), Google Scholar (n = 50), and ScienceDirect (n = 3). Studies published between [year] and [year] addressing hypertension, older adults, medication adherence, family and caregiver factors, and patient-family partnership were considered. Randomized controlled trials, observational studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses were included. Of 78 identified articles, 7 met the inclusion criteria and were included in the final synthesis. Family-based and self-management interventions improved medication adherence, self-efficacy, caregiver knowledge and behaviors, and blood pressure control. Observational evidence also demonstrated associations between self-efficacy, social support, and medication adherence. However, evidence directly examining caregiver readiness as a distinct construct remains limited. Family self-efficacy can strengthen caregivers' capacity to support medication adherence. Caregiver readiness may be a multidimensional construct encompassing knowledge, skills, self-efficacy, emotional readiness, communication abilities, and collaboration with patients.
