Abstract

21st century learning demands critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication competencies. Therefore, integrating 21st century skills into the learning process effectively is very important, both teachers and students are expected to be able to master these skills. However, there are still many students who have not mastered 21st century skills, one of which is creative thinking skills. To achieve this competency, students need to experience a supportive process, active learning, and involve the problems around them, one of which is learning using PjBL which contains ESD. The data collection technique uses case-based essay questions about the diversity of wild plants in the area. Data were analyzed using the N Gain test, normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. The research was conducted over five meetings with the implementation of PjBL containing ESD which aims to improve students' creative thinking skills. The results of the research that has been carried out show that the creative thinking skills of students in the experimental group obtained an average N Gain value of 0.58 in the medium category, while in the control group an N-Gain value of 0.25 was obtained in the low category. So it can be concluded that the use of the PjBL model containing ESD can improve students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the design of laboratory activities (DKL) for field trips activities in the Ranca Upas heterogeneous forest and to provide solutions through reconstruction. The significance of using the field trip method to enhance student learning outcomes and environmental awareness. The Ranca Upas heterogeneous forest was chosen as a field trip location because it has high micro-diversity and abundance. The DKL was designed to examine the interaction between biotic and abiotic factors as well as the inter-component interactions in the heterogeneous forest. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method utilizing the Analyze, Create, Try, and Reconstruct framework. A survey of the forest locations served as the basis for developing the DKL. The design of the DKL was informed by the survey results and analyzed using the Novak-Gowin Vee Diagram rubric. A trial was conducted to assess the suitability of the DKL in real field conditions. The results of this trial were then analyzed, leading to a reconstruction of the DKL based on challenges encountered during the trial. The reconstruction process included refining the tools used, preparing more structured activity steps, and developing more comprehensive practicum questions. This research has implications for the development of higher-quality and more effective field trip DKLs, ultimately aimed at improving students' science process skills and critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to develop Electromotive Forces on Multitier Instruments (EFoMI) in measuring student misconceptions. Method: This development research uses 4D design. Participants in this research were 19 students (10 Females and 9 Males) in one of the Bandung junior high schools. The instruments used are those developed in this research. The Rasch analysis was used to identify the feasibility of EFoMI using WINSTEPS 4.4.5 software which had previously been included in the conceptual categories of Sound Understanding (SU), Partial Positive (PP), Partial Negative (PN), No Understanding (NU), Misconception (MC), and No Coding (NC). Meanwhile, VOSviewer analysis was carried out to look for research trends related to misconceptions. Results: The results show the construct validity and fit statistics which meet all criteria. the reliability of EFoMI, namely 0.82, is in the Very Good category. The difficulty level of EFoMI is evenly distributed, the discrimination in the Very Good category, and no gender bias was detected from EFoMI. The distribution of students' conceptions includes SU= 12%, PP= 4%, PN= 45%, NU= 7%, MC= 27%, and NC=4%. These results have several implications in the field of education. An example is EFoMI's success in identifying student misconceptions, thus it can be an alternative for teachers in developing or identifying student misconceptions. Then, by knowing students' initial conceptions, teachers can develop learning tools that are more focused on student misconceptions and based on data. Likewise, to develop or use teaching materials more effectively by knowing the areas where students often experience misconceptions.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to provide flexibility and autonomy for schools in Indonesia to create learning experiences that align with local contexts and the individual needs of students. Education plays a vital role in integrating local potential and wisdom to achieve relevance at both the local and individual levels. Indonesia's rich cultural heritage offers numerous opportunities for integration into learning; however, many of these potentials remain underexplored and underutilized in scientific educational contexts. This study aims to identify and examine the potential and local wisdom of the Toraja people relevant to biological concepts and to develop an ethnopedagogical framework as a foundation for contextualized learning materials for senior high school students in Phases E and F. Employing a systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA model, the research screens, selects, and analyzes sources addressing the scientific relevance of the Toraja community's local potential and wisdom on topics such as biodiversity, genetics, anatomy, and more. Findings reveal that the local potential and indigenous knowledge embedded in Toraja wisdom can be adapted into scientific concepts that support the achievement of biology learning outcomes at the senior high school level in Phases E and F. This study contributes to the advancement of ethnopedagogy as an innovative educational approach that aligns teaching practices with local cultural values. Moreover, it provides a framework that can guide the development of learning content, modules, student worksheets, projects, quizzes, and assessment tools to foster meaningful and contextualized learning experiences.
