Abstract

Risk is a state of uncertainty that may cause harm or loss to an Islamic financial institution that may occur as a result of ongoing or future processes. The risk will have an impact on Islamic financial institutions both operationally, financially and on the sustainability of an institution. Islamic financial institutions need to have risk management which is used as a systematic method used to identify,  analyze, evaluate, manage, supervise and monitor emerging risks so as to minimize losses and maximize opportunities. The purpose of this study is to find out the types of risks that occur and to find out how to manage the risks carried out by BMT NU East Java Socah Bangkalan Branch. This research is descriptive in nature by using a qualitative approach through case studies and using the interview method and data collection from books, journals and the web. From the research conducted, it was found that the risks involved in BMT NU East Java Socah Bangkalan Branch are operational risk, reputation risk, fraud risk, financing risk and business risk. Settlements made, namely visits to customers and the obstacles encountered in risk management, namely managers and the characters of different customers.

Abstract

Despite the mandatory halal certification for Indonesian businesses, the anticipated benefits, such as increased product value or market share expansion, have not materialized for all enterprises. This study investigates the marketing challenges faced by halal-certified Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Bangkalan Regency, Indonesia, focusing on the food sector. Employing a qualitative research design with a phenomenological interpretive approach, the study utilizes data collected through interviews and document analysis from 10 MSME informants. The findings reveal three primary factors hindering their marketing efforts. Firstly, the absence of a centralized platform or marketplace specifically for halal products restricts their reach and visibility. Secondly, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted consumer behavior and market dynamics, posing a common challenge for all MSMEs, including those in the halal food sector. Lastly, limited public awareness and understanding of halal certification results in reduced demand for halal products. These findings highlight the need for multi-pronged interventions to support halal-certified MSMEs. This includes establishing dedicated halal product marketplaces, providing pandemic relief measures tailored to MSMEs, and implementing awareness campaigns to educate the public about the significance of halal certification. This study offers valuable insights into the marketing challenges faced by halal-certified MSMEs in a specific Indonesian context. The proposed solutions can inform policy interventions and marketing strategies to empower halal-certified businesses and promote the halal food industry.==============================================================================================================ABSTRAK – Paradoks Halal: Strategi untuk Daya Tahan UMKM Makanan Indonesia. Meskipun sertifikasi halal menjadi kewajiban bagi pelaku usaha di Indonesia, manfaat yang diharapkan, seperti peningkatan nilai produk atau ekspansi pangsa pasar, belum dirasakan oleh semua perusahaan. Penelitian ini mengkaji tantangan pemasaran yang dihadapi oleh Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) yang telah tersertifikasi halal di Kabupaten Bangkalan, Indonesia, khususnya sektor makanan. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan analisis dokumen dari 10 informan UMKM dan dianalisis dengan pendekatan interpretatif fenomenologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada tiga faktor utama yang menghambat upaya pemasaran mereka. Pertama, ketiadaan platform khusus yang dapat menampung dan memasarkan produk-produk halal. Kedua, efek negatif pandemi COVID-19 yang mengganggu perilaku konsumen dan dinamika pasar, termasuk yang berada di sektor makanan halal. Terakhir, rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat akan sertifikasi halal yang mempengaruhi permintaan akan produk halal. Hasil ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya kerjasama berbagai pihak dalam mendukung UMKM bersertifikasi halal, yang mencakup pembentukan pasar khusus produk halal, penyediaan bantuan pandemi yang terukur untuk UMKM, dan pelaksanaan diseminasi tentang sertifikasi halal untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya sertifikasi halal. Kajian ini memberikan input yang sangat berharga tentang tantangan pemasaran yang dihadapi oleh UMKM yang tersertifikasi halal dalam konteks Indonesia. Hal ini dapat digunakan untuk intervensi kebijakan dan strategi pemasaran bagi pemberdayaan usaha yang tersertifikasi halal sekaligus mempromosikan industri makanan halal.

Abstract

Sertifikasi halal merupakan suatu prosedur yang diterapkan guna memperoleh sertifikat halal, yang melibatkan serangkaian tahapan untuk memverifikasi bahwa bahan baku, proses produksi, serta Sistem Jaminan Halal (SJH) sesuai dengan standar yang ditetapkan oleh Lembaga Pengkajian Obat-obatan dan Kosmetika Majelis Ulama Indonesia (LPPOM MUI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana peran sertifikasi halal dapat memperbaiki dan mendorong peningkatan kualitas produk yang dihasilkan oleh produsen atau pelaku usaha setempat, serta bagaimana sertifikasi tersebut mampu memberikan jaminan dan memperkuat kepercayaan konsumen di kalangan masyarakat Kabupaten Sumenep. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengukur sejauh mana sertifikasi halal berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan daya saing produk di antara pelaku usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) lainnya atau di pasar, termasuk aspek seperti peningkatan volume penjualan atau keberlanjutan operasional usaha masyarakat lokal. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini akan menganalisis kontribusi sertifikasi halal terhadap perbaikan kualitas produk lokal bagi produsen di Kabupaten Sumenep, serta bagaimana sertifikasi tersebut dapat menumbuhkan kepercayaan pada tingkat keyakinan konsumen di wilayah setempat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan sifat deskriptif, di mana pengumpulan data informasi dilakukan melalui teknik wawancara terhadap produsen atau UMKM yang telah memperoleh sertifikasi halal, serta konsumen di masyarakat Kabupaten Sumenep

Abstract

The restructuring of Hajj quota distribution in Indonesia has generated concerns regarding its alignment with human rights standards, particularly principles of equality, justice, and non-discrimination. Yet, scholarly assessment of these issues remains limited, creating a research gap in understanding the legal and human rights implications of the quota transfer policy. This study aims to critically examine whether Indonesia’s Hajj quota transition policy constitutes a violation of domestic law and human rights norms. Employing a normative juridical method, the research utilizes a statutory and case-based approach, focusing on Law No. 8/2019 on the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah and other relevant regulations. The findings reveal that the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ quota transfer mechanism is inconsistent with the governing legal framework and fails to uphold human rights principles of equality and justice. The study highlights the need for future quota allocation policies to ensure strict legal compliance, transparency, and the protection of fundamental rights, thereby promoting a more equitable and accountable Hajj management system.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the production capacity, digital marketing, and economic performance of banana and cassava chip MSMEs in Kaliglagah Village through digital interventions based on Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD). Twelve MSMEs received mentoring for six months (February–September 2025). At baseline, production capacity ranged from 40–70 packages per day, with an average turnover of IDR 3,050,000 (median IDR 3,000,000; range IDR 2,450,000–IDR 3,800,000). The interventions included packaging improvements, mobile photography, copywriting, a content calendar, and the activation of four digital channels (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp Business, and marketplaces). Changes in turnover were calculated as percentages, raw material prices were recorded from weekly records, and monitoring was carried out through sales logs, transaction receipts, and a dashboard. Results show production capacity increased to 80–120 packs per day, turnover increased by 29.9% (≈30%), and non-village buyers increased from <5% to 34%. Digital analytics: reach 7,200 accounts/month, 12,000 impressions, 3.2% CTR, and conversion 2.8–3.1%. Upstream impact: banana prices increased from IDR 3,800/kg to IDR 4,350/kg, and cassava from IDR 2,400/kg to IDR 2,760/kg (≈15%). These findings confirm the effectiveness of low-cost, locally-asset-based digitalization for rural food MSMEs, expanding markets and supporting supply chains.
