Abstract

The initial systematic search of the Scopus database using the PRISMA 2020 method found 40 records. The 10 included studies involved participants ranging from preschool to college age, were drawn predominantly from Indonesia (7 of 10 studies), with the remainder from Taiwan, Malaysia, and the Philippines, and most quasi-experimental samples comprised fewer than 100 participants; the search was deliberately confined to Scopus to ensure consistent and complete bibliographic metadata across records, a scope decision discussed further as a review limitation. This analysis whereby the selected articles show constant key points. Thirdly, bringing local wisdom into PE greatly raised elementary students' drive, pleasure, commitment, and cultural knowledge, deeply connecting learning to their lives. Eventually, playing a traditional game helped teachers not only deliver instruction but also preserve cultural heritage and strengthen the student's cultural identity. The findings indicate that local wisdom-based innovative learning models can also facilitate the emotional, physical, social development simultaneously in schools. Besides, the review points out that cultural relevance is an element that attracts students towards deeper engagement and learning. On the other hand, most of the research articles are from Southeast Asia; though, some of the sampling and quasi-experimental studies are small in number. That is why upcoming studies should look at bigger and more variable populations, incorporate instruments that can measure social-interaction and enjoyment, and compare the performance results of these approaches across different cultural settings so as to provide a stronger evidence base at the international level.

Abstract

Study This aim For analyze influence exercise fun games and zig-zag dribble as well as ability motor ability ( motor ability ) towards agility of dribbling the ball in players Porsepa FC Subdistrict Lareh Sago Halaban , Lima Puluh Kota Regency . Research design use design factorial 2 x 2 with treatment in the form of method exercise as variables free , ability motor as variables attributes , and agility in dribbling the ball as variables bound . Population study is all over player football consists of 32 people, who at the same time made into sample through technique total sampling . Data collected use test ball dribbling agility and test ability motor , then analyzed with two-way ANOVA test path (2 x 2). Research results show that : (1) practice fun games produce greater agility in dribbling the ball tall compared to exercise zig-zag dribble (p = 0.000 < α = 0.05); (2) no there is difference significant between ability motor high and low to dribbling agility (p = 0.825 > α = 0.05); (3) there is interaction significant between method training and skills motor to ball dribbling agility (p = 0.001 < α = 0.05); (4) in the group with ability motor height , exercise fun games more effective compared to zig-zag dribble (p = 0.000 < α = 0.05); (5) in group with ability motor low , no there is difference between second method exercise (p = 0.494 > α = 0.05); (6) exercise fun games show difference agility of dribbling the ball between ability motor high and low (p = 0.034 < α = 0.05); and (7) exercise zig-zag dribble also shows difference agility of dribbling the ball between ability motor high and low (p = 0.043 < α = 0.05). In overall , research This confirm that method exercise fun games more effective in increase agility in dribbling the ball, especially in players with ability motor high , and there is interaction significant between method training and skills motor to results agility in dribbling the ball

Abstract

Motor skills in the middle childhood phase are a critical skill through which one could attain lifelong physical activity; However, their determinants are often examined separately, which "hides" the fact of how biological readiness and the instructional environment together influence movement outcomes. Objective: In this work, the authors represented the direct and indirect impacts of children's motor ability through physical fitness, nutritional status, and the learning environment in such a way that the learning environment was considered as a mediator. Methods: The research was carried out using a cross-sectional, correlational design on 38 fifth-grade pupils at a laboratory primary school in Padang, Indonesia. Physical fitness was measured with the Indonesian Student Fitness and Skill Test (Phase C), nutritional status with body-mass-index-for-age, the learning environment with a validated Likert questionnaire, and motor ability with the Nurhasan Motor Ability Test. Data were analysed through path analysis using ordinary-least-squares regression across three structural models in IBM SPSS Statistics 27, after verifying normality, linearity, and the absence of multicollinearity. Results: Physical fitness is a great predictor of nutritional status (beta = 0.899, R-squared = 0.809). Net of confounds in the model, physical fitness (beta = -1.052), nutritional status (beta = 0.603), and the learning environment (beta = -0.299) each had a significant direct effect on motor ability, and all six hypotheses were supported. Learning environment transmission indirect effects were quite small (-0.432 and 0.193), suggesting that biological factors impacted primarily the motor ability through direct rather than mediated pathways. Conclusively, in an educationally homogeneous setting, children's physical fitness and nutritional status are the primary determinants of their motor ability, whilst the learning environment represents more of a facilitating than a mediating factor. Practical implication: Physical-education programmes should focus on fitness development and nutritional monitoring while continuing to offer a positive and supportive instructional atmosphere.

Abstract

Among all table tennis strokes, the backspin serve is a critical technical skill because it enables the server to initiate play without direct opposition and create tactical advantages through ball spin. Despite its importance, the biomechanics of upper limb movements during the backspin serve remain less understood than those of topspin strokes. This systematic review aimed to synthesize and critically evaluate the existing evidence on upper limb biomechanics during table tennis serves and strokes, with particular emphasis on the backspin serve. The review followed the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and searched the Scopus database using structured Boolean keywords related to table tennis, biomechanics, upper limb kinematics, and serve actions. Of 479 identified records, 50 studies met the inclusion criteria and were included in the qualitative synthesis. The findings consistently demonstrated that effective spin generation relies on a proximal-to-distal kinetic sequence involving shoulder internal rotation, forearm pronation, and wrist flexion, with wrist motion playing a particularly important role in backspin and short serves. Kinematic patterns also varied according to sex, playing level, and grip style, highlighting the need for individualized technical models. In addition, wearable inertial sensors and statistical mapping emerged as promising alternatives to laboratory-based motion capture systems, although markerless motion analysis requires further validation. However, direct evidence linking upper limb biomechanics to ball spin and serve effectiveness remains limited, particularly for backspin serves. Overall, this review highlights current evidence, identifies important methodological gaps, and provides practical implications for coaching and future research on serve-specific biomechanics, longitudinal designs, and AI-assisted motion analysis in table tennis.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of basic basketball skills among students participating in the basketball extracurricular program at SMA Negeri 7 Padang. This research employed a quantitative descriptive design using a survey method. The population consisted of 20 male students participating in the basketball extracurricular program, and all participants were selected as the sample using the total sampling technique. Data were collected using the AAHPERD Basketball Test, which measures dribbling, shooting, and passing skills. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the average dribbling score was 21.71 seconds, the average shooting score was 32, the average passing score was 70, and the overall basic basketball skill T-score averaged 50. Overall, the participants' basic basketball skills were classified as moderate (fair). These findings indicate the need for more structured training programs and adequate sports facilities to improve students' basketball skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the physical condition and basic technical skills of players from the Smandel Padang Volleyball Club. This research employed a quantitative descriptive design. The population consisted of 16 active volleyball players from the Smandel Padang Volleyball Club, and all participants were selected using the total sampling technique. Physical condition was assessed using the bleep test for endurance, the two-hand medicine ball put test for upper-body explosive power, the vertical jump test for lower-body explosive power, and the T-test agility for agility. Basic technical skills were evaluated through serve, Brumbach Forearm Pass Wall-Volley, AAHPER Face Pass Wall-Volley, and smash tests. The results revealed that the players' overall physical condition was classified as fair, while their overall basic technical skills were also classified as fair. These findings indicate the need for structured and continuous training programs, particularly to improve endurance, agility, and attacking skills.

Abstract

Overhead passing is a fundamental skill in volleyball that significantly influences game performance. Modified ball training is often used to enhance players' motor skills, but its effectiveness compared to non-modified training remains underexplored. This study aims to analyze the effect of modified and non-modified training on motor skills and its impact on overhead passing ability in the volleyball team of SMP Negeri 23 Kerinci. The study employs a quantitative experimental design with 16 volleyball players divided into two groups: modified ball training and non-modified training. Normality was tested using the Shapiro-Wilk test, and since the data were not normally distributed, the Mann-Whitney test and multiple linear regression were used for statistical analysis. The results indicate that modified ball training significantly improves overhead passing ability compared to non-modified training (p = 0.014). Players with higher motor skills showed greater improvement than those with lower motor skills. Regression analysis revealed that motor skills positively influence overhead passing (β = 0.506, p = 0.009), while modified training has a negative but significant effect (β = -0.564, p = 0.005), suggesting its effectiveness for players with higher motor skills. Coaches are encouraged to implement modified training to enhance volleyball players' technical skills.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of physical fitness among students in participating in physical education classes. This study aims to determine the level of physical fitness of 10th grade students at MAN 1 Padang. This study is descriptive in nature. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Padang City. The population in this study was 345 students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, so the sample in this study was 36 students, 14 boys and 22 girls. The test used was the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI), and the aspects observed were 1) Hand and eye coordination test 2) Vertical jump test 3) T test 4) Hand touch reaction test 5) Dipping Test 6) Beep test. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistics. Based on the data analysis, the following conclusions were drawn: 1) The hand and eye coordination test for boys and girls was in the moderate category. 2) The vertical jump test for boys was in the moderate category, while that for girls was in the good category. 3) The T test for boys was in the good category, while that for girls was in the moderate category. 4) The hand touch reaction test for boys and girls was in the good category. 5) The dipping test for boys and girls was in the moderate category. 6) The beep test for boys and girls was in the poor category. Thus, the physical fitness level of Grade X students at MAN 1 Padang City was in the moderate category.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masase pada penyandang tunanetra melalui pelatihan yang diadakan di Panti Sosial Tuah Sakato, Kota Padang. Pelatihan ini dirancang untuk membekali 20 peserta tunanetra dengan keterampilan masase profesional, sehingga mereka dapat bekerja sebagai terapis atau membuka usaha mandiri. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan sesi teori dan praktik masase, dengan instruktur bersertifikat yang memandu setiap kelompok. Evaluasi keterampilan dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan masase, dengan nilai p < 0,05, yang menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan teknis peserta. Dengan keterampilan yang diperoleh, peserta diharapkan dapat mencapai kemandirian ekonomi dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan mereka.
