Abstract

Students understand and develop movement skills through various sport games, but they have less enjoyable experience because of inappropriate and uncomfortable ball size. The existing standard balls often frighten the students because of their weight and may hurt them when the balls hit their body parts. This study is intended to design a multifunctional ball for basket ball, volley ball and football and to find out how it can improve the students’ motivation in the teaching of Physical Education, Sport and Health in Primary and Junior High Schools in Semarang. This is a research and development study. The sample of 36 students were selected for the small-scale testing and 72 students for the large-scale testing. The results of the study show that the final product was a multifunctional ball with the size of 66 cm, made of soft, unslippery Poly Urhetane sponge, 270 gram in weight, air pressre of 0.250-0.3 bar and the bounce of 105-115. The ball was designed in light and interesting color. The final product has two functions for basket ball, volley ball and football, and does not cause pain because of their light in weight and reasonable size.

Abstract

Long distance running (LDR) is an exercise that has a relatively heavy load which can cause Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) and increase Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) levels. Xanthine, one derivate of ROS will increase 10 times during aerobic activity which is metabolized to Uric Acid (mg/dL) (UA). Foam rolling (FR) is used for the recovery process. This study aims to determine the effect of long distance running on changes in UA levels and the effect of FR as an active recovery against changes in UA levels. This was a quasi-experiment study using a purposive sampling design, one-group repeated measure design of a sample population of young healthy males (17-25 years). The sample consisted of 10 trained young males in Semarang. The average value of UA before intervention was 4.43 mg/dL ± 0.51. In 90 minutes, it was 5.90 mg/dL ± 0.52, in 120 minutes was 5.71 mg/dL ± 0.72 and at 24 hours after intervention was 6.1 mg/dL ± 0.57. LDR has been shown to increase UA levels. FR which is done only once has not been able to reduce UA levels. The percentage of occurrence of post-LDR DOMS occurred at 24 hours.

The approach in this study is a qualitative research approach using qualitative data analysis techniques with interactive analysis models (Interactive Analysis Models), namely the components of data reduction and data presentation carried out together with the data collection process. After the data is collected, the three components of the analysis (data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing) interact with each other. This study uses two supporting data, namely primary data and secondary data. The number of informants is 20 public elementary schools in East Ungaran sub-district. The results of this study are the pedagogical competence of teachers of Physical Education, Sports and Health in the District of East Ungaran in the very good category reaching 10%, 80% good, and 10% sufficient. Personal competence of Physical Education, Sports and Health teachers is 40% in very good category, 50% is good, and 10% is sufficient. Social competence reached 45% very good, 50% good, and 5% enough. Professional competence is 10% very good, 70% good, and 20% quite. Abstract

Two groups of pesantren and non-pesantren students at SMK Takhasus Plus Al Mardiyah Kendal raised concerns about differences in physical fitness and learning achievement between these groups. So it is required an identification on physical fitness and student achievement at two groups students and it is also required to identify interaction between physical fitness and learning achievement students. The research method used quantitative. The subjects in this study were 85 students of SMK Takhasus Plus Al Mardiyah Kendal, and it used purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was physical fitness test data and learning achievement. The data analysis technique used different tests. The results of the analysis show that there were differences in the physical fitness of the two groups of students, but there was no difference in the level of student achievement, and it was known that the level of physical fitness was able to affect the learning achievement of pesantren and non- pesantren students. The advice given is that students should pay more attention to their physical fitness by doing various physical activities that can support teaching and learning activities, it should be able to provide more portions for pesantren students in terms of physical exercise to improve children's physical fitness.

Abstract

The players' aerobic endurance is insufficient, and as a result, they do not perform adequately during the competition. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of small-sided games with variations of 6vs6 (free touch) and 4vs4 (two touch), effects of high and low vital lung capacities, and interaction between Training methods and lung vital capacity on VO2max. Method used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design, 20 the sample 20 participants age 14-17 years old. Independent variables are Small-sided games and vital lung capacity, and dependent variables a VO2max. Multistage bleep test was employed as instrument for VO2max. Anova used to data analysis. Results that: 1) the 6vs6 variation (free touch) obtained a mean of 43.3, while the 4vs4 variation (two touch) obtained a mean of 40.2 with a value of (p=0.0030.05). 2) With a value of (p=0.000.05), high vital lung capacity obtained a mean of 44.6 and low vital lung capacity obtained a mean of 38.8. 3) small sided games activity with variants of 6vs6 resulted in a mean of 45.9 while a mean of 40.8 resulted in a low vital lung capacity. Small sided games exercise with variations of 4vs. resulted in a mean of 36.9 with a value (p=0.440>0.05). Conclusion that VO2max, practicing small-sided games 6vs6 version was better to practicing with the 4vs4 variation. VO2max member with high vital lung capacity was preferable to one with a low vital lung capacity. There was no interaction of training method and vital lung capacity toward VO2max.
