Abstract

Scientific backwardness is the result of a lack of interest in developing basic literacy during education. This problem occurs due to the lack of facilities that support the development of basic literacy, especially reading, namely the lack of reading books in elementary schools. Apart from that, in carrying out the learning process teachers are also not creative in creating a pleasant learning atmosphere. A problem that is still widespread in the world of elementary school education is that there are still elementary school students who cannot read. Therefore, the current aim of Community Service is to develop basic literacy, especially reading. It is necessary to carry out several supporting activities that can increase motivation and interest in learning in elementary school students. The development method used is by sharing picture learning books written in two languages, carrying out reading exercises for elementary school students and holding reading competitions by giving awards to each competition participant to foster students' interest in learning. The results of community service found were that teachers and students realized that basic literacy in elementary school education was very necessary because with good literacy development, teachers and students would be able to face various developments in current globalization. The form of literacy development carried out aims to bridge elementary school students and teachers to face various challenges that will arise in the future golden generation.

Abstract

Community Service Activities carried out at GMIT Seydon Alor aim to empower women economically through Transformative Christian Religious Education by training in making bokasi fertilizer. The targets of the Community Service Activities are the women of GMIT Seydon Alor, totaling 75 women. The target of the activity is making bokasi fertilizer to improve the economy of women. Because their livelihood is agriculture. Outcomes from Community Service Activities at GMIT Seydon- Alor Regency. It can be concluded that the results of the activity had a good impact, as the women of GMIT Seydon were enthusiastic about making bokasi fertilizer and everyone was able to independently make bokasi fertilizer because so far they had difficulty getting fertilizer. The congregation, in this case the women, buy urea fertilizer from the shop and if urea fertilizer is used for a long period of time and continuously it can damage the nutrients in the soil. So, with community service activities carried out by the IAKN Kupang Postgraduate through education on making bokasi fertilizer, they realize that the surrounding environment can produce natural fertilizer. From the activities carried out for three days, the women of GMIT Syeidon Alor were able to produce bokasi fertilizer which can be used for their agriculture.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (abdimas) ini adalah untuk membangkitkan motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris anak-anak Panti Asuhan St. Louis de Monfort-Sikumana. Pembangkitan motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris ini ditempuh melalui games and songs atau permaian dan lagu. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan abdimas ini adalah permainan, lagu, dan demonstrasi. Terdapat tiga tahap dalam kegiatan ini, yakni persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan penyusunan laporan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak lebih antusias dalam belajar bahasa Inggris lewat games and songs. Bahkan, anak-anak juga bisa dengan mudah menguasai kosakata baru, memiliki ketrampilan berbahasa dan pengucapan yang baik, serta cukup mahir menguasai tata bahasa Inggris. Kata Kunci : motivasi belajar, bahasa Inggris, games and songs AbtsractThis community service activity aims to foster motivation for learning the English language among the children of St. Louis de Monfort-Sikumana Orphanage. This is achieved through the use of games and songs as a means of stimulation. The methods employed in this community service activity include games, songs, and demonstrations. The activity consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and report preparation. The results of this activity indicate that the children are more enthusiastic about learning English through games and songs. Moreover, they can easily acquire new vocabulary, possess language skills and good pronunciation, and are proficient in mastering English grammar. Abstract

AbstrakPelatihan pengembangan kompetensi guru di Sabu Raijua perlu dilakukan karena sebagian besar guru-guru di Sabu Raijua belum memahami dengan baik proses pembelajaran yang bersifat kontekstual, assesment dan sertifikasi yang dapat menunjang potensi guru dalam proses pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Dalam pelatihan ini, kampus Universitas Citra Bangsa Kota Kupang berkolaborasi dengan GAIN Global Teachers and Trainers Academy untuk melaksanakan program Pelatihan, Asesmen, dan Sertifikasi Internasional. Program ini bertujuan untuk Penguasaan Pembelajaran Kontekstual yang berpusat pada siswa, berdiferensiasi, dan berpusat pada projek yang saat ini sedang diterapkan sebagai standar pendidikan di Indonesia oleh Pemerintah melalui Kemendikbudristek Republik Indonesia. Pelatihan ini telah dilaksanakan dan memberikan hasil yang memuaskan bagi guru-guru di Sabu Raijua dalam memahami bagaimana menentukan strategi pembelajaran, materi yang digunakan, memahami karakter dari peserta didik dan menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan agar menumbuhkan minat belajar guru maupun siswa. Kata Kunci : Pelatihan, Kompetensi, Guru AbstractTeacher competency development training in Sabu Raijua is necessary because the majority of teachers in Sabu Raijua do not yet have a thorough understanding of contextual learning processes, assessment, and certification that can support teachers' potential in the classroom learning process. In this training, Citra Bangsa University in Kota Kupang collaborates with GAIN Global Teachers and Trainers Academy to implement an International Training, Assessment, and Certification program. This program aims to achieve mastery in student-centered, differentiated, and project-centered contextual learning, which is currently being implemented as the education standard in Indonesia by the government through the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. The training has been conducted and has yielded satisfactory results for teachers in Sabu Raijua, enabling them to understand how to determine teaching strategies, utilize appropriate materials, comprehend the characteristics of learners, and create an enjoyable learning environment to foster the interest of both teachers and students in learning. Abstract

Literacy activities in learning aim to develop the ability to understand texts and relate them to personal experiences, think critically, and process communication skills creatively. Through this PKM activity, which covers material on narrative texts, it can help, increase reading interest and narrative literacy skills of class 10 high school students at SMA N 1 Amanuban Selatan, increase students' understanding of the structure, characteristics and techniques of writing narrative texts. Develop students' skills in producing narrative texts creatively.

Abstract

This training is to provide an understanding to principals and teachers about the diagnostic assessment that is currently in effect in the independent curriculum. The targets of this Community Service group activity are principals, educators and education staff at SMA Negeri I Ba'a, Rote Ndao Regency. The activity was carried out for 2 days. The main material presented was to provide education and workshops through mentoring in making diagnostic instruments and providing practice/simulations regarding concrete steps in preparing diagnostic assessments. The method used in implementing the activity was Participatory Action Research (PAR). The PKM activity was applied with lecture activities and strengthened through FGD (Focus Group Discussion) discussions and questions and answers between presenters/stakeholders and participants. The number of participants who took part in the training was 35 teachers. The results of the training showed that the understanding and mastery of the material on writing diagnostic assessment instruments in the independent curriculum had been understood by the participants and produced a draft of the diagnostic assessment instrument and directly practiced concrete steps in preparing all the required documents. The training participants were very enthusiastic in participating in this activity because it was a requirement in the independent curriculum.

Abstract

Pendidikan pada masa kini mengalami ancaman yang serius karena kurangnya kesadaran dalam menanamkan literasi sejak dini. Persoalan lain yang masih ditemukan adalah rendahnya sumber daya manusia, kurangnya fasilitas sarana dan prasarana sebagai pendukung utama serta ketidaktrampilan guru maupun peserta didik dalam menciptakan lingkungan pembelajran yang kondusif. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan literasi dasar pada Sekolah Dasar Inpres Akle, Semau Selatan. Upaya ini bertujuan agar guru, siswa dan orang tua menyadari bahwa penanaman literasi dasar secara baik sejak dini dapat mempermudah guru maupun siswa untuk berdaptasi dengan berbagai isu perkembangan global di masa kini. Tujuan lainnya adalah guru maupun siswa termotivasi untuk mengembangkan kemampuan yang dimiliki serta menciptakan sumber daya manusia yang berilmu dan berkarakter. Dengan adanya literasi dasar maka guru, siswa dan orang tua lebih dipermudah untuk memahami dan mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan yang telah dipelajari dalam kehidupan setiap hari.

Abstract

Keterbatasan akses terhadap pelatihan profesional, kurangnya kesempatan untuk berbagi pengalaman antar guru, dan kekurangan sumber daya pendidikan berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Kurangnya kolaborasi antara guru berdampak pada kurang inovasi dan kreativitas guru dalam mengelolah kegiatan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di daerah tersebut, diperlukan untuk membentuk komunitas belajar guru yang dapat memberikan wadah untuk berbagi praktik baik dalam mengelola kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan melalui pengelolaan pembelajaran yang efektif di Kabupaten Sabu Raijua melalui pembentukan dan pembinaan komunitas belajar guru. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup identifikasi kebutuhan melalui wawancara dan survei, pembentukan komunitas belajar, sesi berbagi praktik terbaik, diskusi reflektif, serta pelatihan dan workshop yang relevan dengan konteks lokal. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru, serta kolaborasi yang lebih baik antar guru. Sebanyak 87% peserta merasa lebih percaya diri dalam menerapkan teknik pengajaran baru, dan 91% merasa lebih terhubung dengan rekan sejawat mereka. Selain itu, pembentukan komunitas belajar yang berkelanjutan diharapkan dapat terus memberikan dampak positif bagi kualitas pembelajaran di wilayah ini. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap peningkatan kompetensi guru dan kualitas pendidikan di Kabupaten Sabu Raijua.

Abstract

Korupsi merupakan salah satu masalah besar yang dihadapi Indonesia, sehingga memerlukan solusi yang komprehensif dan berkelanjutan. Salah satu upaya strategis dalam menghadapi korupsi adalah dengan menanamkan nilai-nilai anti korupsi sejak dini melalui pendidikan anti korupsi. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan nilai kejujuran kepada siswa SD Inpres Lasiana, Kupang, menggunakan media film pendek bertema "Kisah Kejujuran di Sekolah." Metode kegiatan meliputi pemutaran film, diskusi interaktif, dan pemberian materi edukasi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang pentingnya nilai kejujuran, serta dukungan dari pihak sekolah untuk melanjutkan program serupa. Program ini dapat menjadi model pendidikan anti korupsi berbasis media audiovisual.

Abstract

This study analyze lexical, contextual and symbolic meanings in the novel Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer using a semantic approach. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, focusing on excerpts from the novel that contain dominant and relevant meanings for the study. The analysis reveals that Pramoedya consistently utilizes the power of language to convey social criticism, human values and reflections on identity and struggle through these three layers of meaning. Lexical meaning are evident in the use of words that directly express injustice, racism and gender subordination. Contextual meanings appear in phrases and sentences shaped by the social and psychological situations of the character, while symbolic meanings emerge through symbols that reinforce the ideological and moral messages in the text. These findings demonstrate the complexity of meaning in Bumi Manusia and expand the scope of semantic studies in Indonesian literature, particularly in understanding social and cultural dynamics during the colonial period.
