Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of academic supervision in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum as an effort to improve the quality of education at SMPN 5 Pati Regency. Academic supervision has a strategic role in assisting teachers in planning, implementing, evaluating, and reflecting on student-centered learning. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study included the principal, teachers, and educational staff at SMPN 5 Pati Regency. The findings indicate that academic supervision was carried out through several stages, namely supervision planning, classroom observation, feedback provision, reflection, and follow-up mentoring. Academic supervision conducted in a directed, collaborative, and continuous manner was able to improve teachers’ ability to design teaching materials, implement active learning strategies, use diagnostic and formative assessments, and reflect on the learning process. Therefore, academic supervision serves as an important instrument for improving teacher professionalism and the quality of learning at SMPN 5 Pati Regency. Abstract

Indonesia's Merdeka Curriculum introduces significant challenges for educators, making their professional well-being vital to successful educational reform. This study examines how principal leadership style and organizational culture impact primary school teachers' job satisfaction during this transition. This study employed a quantitative explanatory survey design. From a population of 123 certified civil-servant primary school teachers in Kudus Regency, a sample of 93 respondents was determined using the Slovin formula (5% margin of error) and selected through proportional stratified sampling. Data were collected via a closed-ended, five-point Likert-scale questionnaire (58 items) administered online, and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. Findings reveal both variables positively and significantly influence job satisfaction (R² = 0.541). Notably, organizational culture emerged as a stronger predictor (f² = 0.224) than leadership style (f² = 0.156), suggesting that shared collective values and peer collaboration foster critical emotional resilience among teachers. Ultimately, these results indicate that educational authorities must cultivate inclusive organizational cultures and humanistic leadership to mitigate occupational stress and sustain educators' psychological well-being. It is therefore recommended that education authorities prioritize culture-strengthening programs alongside transformational leadership training for principals, while future research should adopt longitudinal designs and examine factors beyond this model, such as compensation, workload, and intrinsic motivation.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education in the modern era demands pedagogical readiness as well as optimal teacher stress management amidst high workloads. This study aims to analyze the structural relationship between Transformative Leadership (Trans), Teacher Well-Being (Wellb), and Learning Quality (Qual). Using a quantitative method with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) testing, data were collected from 253 elementary school teachers in Kudus Regency who were randomly selected through a simple random sampling technique based on the Slovin formula with a 5% error tolerance. The results of the structural model testing indicate a model fit with the empirical data. Hypothesis testing revealed that Teacher Well-Being is the most dominant determinant with a strong positive influence on Learning Quality (coefficient 0.81), while Transformative Leadership does not have a direct influence (-0.00) but functions as an indirect supporting factor with a weak positive correlation (0.09) with teacher well-being. The novelty of this study lies in placing the internal psychological aspects of teachers as the main mediator and "engine" driving learning quality, not merely a managerial byproduct. The research recommendations urge policymakers to shift their focus from merely principal managerial training to investing in teacher mental health and well-being to create sustainable, adaptive quality education.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of principal leadership, work motivation, and workload on teacher performance in public junior high schools in Pati Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. The population consisted of teachers of public junior high schools in Pati Regency, while the sample was determined using proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires that had passed validity and reliability testing. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and multiple linear regression analysis assisted by SPSS. The results revealed that principal leadership, work motivation, and workload simultaneously had a significant effect on teacher performance. Principal leadership and work motivation showed positive and significant effects on teacher performance, whereas workload had a negative and significant effect. The coefficient of determination indicated that 65.8% of teacher performance variance was explained by the three independent variables. Principal leadership was identified as the most dominant variable affecting teacher performance. These findings confirm that strengthening instructional leadership and improving teacher motivation are essential strategies to enhance teacher professionalism and educational quality. The study contributes theoretically to organizational behavior theory and transformational leadership theory in educational management contexts.
