Abstract

Cervical cancer is the most common type of cancer in women and the main reason people die from cancer in poor countries like Indonesia. Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that is caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and can be dangerous to a woman's health. Cervical cancer has the second most cases and deaths in the world, after breast cancer. The East Java Provincial Health Office's Health Profile for 2021 says that Trenggalek is an area with a low rate of cervical cancer screening. So, we started doing community service projects to make more people aware of cervical cancer. This community event began with drinks for the staff and a talk about cervical cancer and how to find it early. Some of the things that are done are health education about cervical cancer and ways to find it early. During this practice, women of reproductive age (WUS) were also asked to take part in a free Visual Acetate Acid (VIA) test done by the team. The next event was a free VIA test, which 21 WUS students took part in. The results of the VIA test showed that 20 people had bad VIA and one person had good VIA. The team then sent people who had a good VIA to get more care. Women, cadres, and other important people in the community can learn more about cervical cancer through community service. However, community service in other areas is needed in the coming year so that this issue can be brought up and the community can benefit from it, especially since cervical cancer is on the rise. People also think that this would change how women with cervical cancer get their treatments and improve their quality of life.

Abstract

Perineal tears occurs either spontaneously with vaginal or instrument delivery, or as a result of an episiotomy. Severe perineal tears can involve damage to the anal sphincter and anal mucosa. Perineal tears is caused by several factors which are classified into three groups. Such as maternal factors, delivery procedures, and mothers where parity is a factor in perineal tears. This study used a literature review study design. Research article searches were sourced from the Pubmed, Google Scholar, SCOPUS, scientificdirect, and BMC electronic databases. Search articles using keywords, namely perineal tears, parity, obstetric sphincter anal injuries. The results of a review of nine journals that have been carried out show that parity with a small number can cause perineal tears with a high degree, and vice versa parity with a high number further reduces the degree of perineal tears. But it is also affected by physical activities such as gymnastics and sports which can help to reduce the risk of perineal tears regardless of existing parity. The data that we reviewed can be concluded that there is a relationship between parity and perineal tears.

Abstract

The coverage of the COVID-19 Booster vaccination for pregnant women is still very low, this is because there are still many pregnant women who experience doubts about making a decision to vaccinate. Pregnant women found that Booster doses were associated with higher maternal antibody levels and thus reduced risk for severe COVID-19 related outcomes, as well as a stronger degree of protection for the baby than mothers who only received the primary dose (1st dose and 2nd dose). The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the willingness of pregnant women to carry out the COVID-19 Booster vaccination. This research is a quantitative research with correlation analytic method. The population in this study were pregnant women who were recorded in the PWS KIA K1 data for pregnant women at the Balongpanggang Gresik Health Center as many as 120 respondents, a sample of 55 samples. Sampling used a purposive sampling method by distributing questionnaires online via Google forms and offline using a paper-based-test technique. The results of the study showed that the willingness of pregnant women to carry out the COVID-19 Booster vaccination was 80%. Bivariate analysis in this study used Chi square, Fisher and Kruskal-wallis statistical tests. There is a relationship between education, knowledge and attitudes with the willingness of pregnant women to carry out the COVID-19 Booster vaccination in the working area of the Balongpanggang Health Center, Gresik Regency in 2023. The role of midwives, the community and the government is very much needed in efforts to fulfill the coverage of the COVID-19 Booster vaccination, especially in pregnant women who are a vulnerable population during a pandemic. An approach with the right health promotion strategy is expected to be able to help achieve the target of vaccination coverage.

Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia-related maternal mortality is a persistent issue globally, including in Indonesia. The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) recommends universal preeclampsia screening in obstetric services. In Indonesia's NTT Province, pregnant women are screened based on guidelines in the MCH book. Sikka Regency mandates midwives to use the KSPR and MCH manuals for risk factor screening In 2022, 154 out of 9,685 screened pregnant women exhibited signs of preeclampsia risk factors. Despite the reduction in maternal deaths in Sikka Regency, the number of deaths directly linked to preeclampsia increased from one in 2021 to four in 2022. Notably, at Watubaing Public Health Center, two cases of maternal death were specifically attributed to preeclampsia. This underscores a significant gap in midwives' perceptions and clinical practices, elevating maternal mortality risk. This study explores midwives' perceptions of preeclampsia screening. Method: Qualitative research with a phenomenological approach at Watubaing Public Health Center involved three informants selected through purposive sampling, meeting the inclusion criteria. Data collection, conducted from April to July 2023, comprised in-depth semi-structured interviews that were subsequently analyzed thematically. Results: Midwives' expressed divergent opinions on preeclampsia screening, yet a consensus prevailed on its crucial importance. Conclusion: Midwives' perceptions of preeclampsia screening in ANC services are significantly shaped by internal and external factors, including knowledge and experience.

Abstract

HIGHLIGHTS WhatsApp groups can effectively overcome the constraints of antenatal care in delivering health education to pregnant women. The scope of health information about pregnancy should be expanded as this study has shown that it enhances their level of knowledge.   ABSTRACT Objective: Hypertension in pregnancy, including preeclampsia, is the third most common cause of maternal mortality in Indonesia. One of the problems is low preeclampsia knowledge in the community. WhatsApp, as a social media platform, could facilitate spearheading promotive and preventive efforts, especially for high-risk mothers in the community. This study aimed to analyze the difference in levels of knowledge after receiving education through WhatsApp groups. Materials and Methods: This was a pre-experimental study using one group pre-test and one post-test design. The sample size was 58 high-risk pregnant women in one of the Public Health Centers in Surabaya. Respondents completed a preeclampsia knowledge questionnaire before and after receiving health education via WhatsApp group for 12 days. The results were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test, Mann-Whitney U-Test, and Kruskal Wallis test. Results: Most respondents had good knowledge about preeclampsia before and improved after intervention. All respondents had a difference in knowledge before and after the intervention (p <0.001). The only factor that showed a difference in the initial knowledge level about preeclampsia was previous exposure to preeclampsia information (p=0.014). Conclusion: Health education through WhatsApp groups can be considered to be provided as it has been proven effective in increasing the knowledge among high-risk pregnant women about preeclampsia.
