Abstract

The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in hospitals is a strategic step toward improving the quality of healthcare services. However, compatibility and interoperability issues with external systems remain major challenges, particularly in regional hospitals. This study aims to analyze the compatibility and interoperability of the EMR system at RSUD dr. Abdul Aziz Singkawang, as well as its impact on service quality. It also addresses research gaps concerning the lack of in-depth studies on technical barriers and infrastructure limitations in EMR implementation. Using a descriptive case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that while the EMR system is compatible with most internal hospital systems, it faces significant interoperability challenges with external platforms, mainly due to data format discrepancies and limited IT infrastructure. Nevertheless, EMR implementation has successfully improved administrative efficiency, reduced documentation errors, and enhanced the quality of patient services. This study contributes to the literature on health information system integration in regional hospitals and recommends improving system interoperability and upgrading IT infrastructure as strategic actions to support the digital transformation of healthcare services.

Abstract

Background: Effective and efficient healthcare services have become one of the priorities in the global health system, including in Indonesia. In an effort to improve quality and efficiency of care, various initiatives have been implemented by hospitals, one of which is the application of Clinical Pathways (CP). A Clinical Pathway is a systematic approach designed to provide evidence-based guidelines in managing patients with specific conditions, with the goal of improving quality, efficiency, and patient safety. Purpose: To analyze the effectiveness of clinical pathways on length of stay (LOS) and its implications for hospital costs in ischemic stroke patients. Method: This quantitative, analytical, observational study used a cross-sectional approach. Data collection was conducted retrospectively using secondary data from patient medical records, Clinical Pathway documents, and the Hospital Information System (SIMRS). This included all inpatients with ischemic stroke treated by the Social Security Administration at Hermina Hospital Solo during 2024. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error, resulting in a sample of 170 respondents. Results: Regression analysis showed that CP significantly affects LOS, with a regression coefficient indicating that increased adherence to CP can reduce LOS. LOS also has a significant effect on hospital costs, with a positive regression coefficient, meaning the longer the LOS, the higher the hospital cost. However, CP does not have a direct effect on hospital costs. Path analysis revealed an indirect effect of CP on hospital costs through LOS, indicating that improved CP adherence can reduce hospital costs by shortening LOS. Conclusion: That higher adherence to CP can shorten LOS and indirectly lower hospital costs. Hospital management is expected to conduct regular socialization, evaluation, and monitoring of CP implementation to achieve optimal service efficiency and cost control.

Abstract

Competitive advantage is achieved when a company runs a marketing strategy by producing products and services different from those of other competitors and/or producing cheaper products and services, which creates a superior value. This research aims to determine the impact of customer relations and marketing communication on competitive advantage, which affects customer loyalty. The research method used is a survey aimed at 400 hotel customers, and the analytical instrument used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The research shows that there is an influence of competitive advantage on customer loyalty, Customer relationship, and marketing communication, which affect competitive advantage both partially and simultaneously. Customer loyalty will happen when a company has a competitive advantage, encouraged by customer relationships and optimal marketing communication. This research highlights that loyalty is not merely the outcome of customer satisfaction but is rooted in a firm’s ability to build trustful relationships, communicate effectively, and sustain competitive advantage.

Abstract

Digital transformation has encouraged hospitals to implement Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and training to enhance healthcare workers' performance. This study analyzes the effect of EMR implementation and training on healthcare performance, with work motivation as a mediating variable at RST Tk II Dustira Cimahi. A quantitative survey was conducted with 310 respondents and analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and Sobel test. Results indicate that EMR has a positive but not significant effect, while training positively and significantly affects both work motivation and performance. Work motivation significantly mediates the effect of EMR and training on performance. The study emphasizes that EMR effectiveness depends on work motivation and continuous training to optimize healthcare workers’ performance.
